Thanks! I wouldn’t say it saves time. All epoxy pieces are nice but holy crap at how much longer it takes turning them 😳. Can’t remove as much making passes in epoxy like you can with wood.
@@EppsCreations I just meant you're turning away significantly less resin using the mold you made than without it. I'm not a turner, but I'm fascinated by watching the creativity that you guys have.
It took 2.5L or 0.6 gallons. But yes, I can’t show the goodies all in one video 😉. I have to do a commissioned elm burl and epoxy pepper mill so that’ll be up first. So many things going on at once lol.
That's pretty cool, Epps!!! Love the coloring and process. CA tools makes a 10 gallon pressure pot that has a 14 ¾ inner diameter too, in case you weren't aware. It's a bit pricey for sure....
I enjoyed the Mold Putty demo and creating a 2 piece mold. I can definitely see using them both in the future... That said however, I'm struggling to justify whether or not it would be worth it to spend that much money on mold material and resin, (I estimated about $200+...) just to make a plastic bowl... I'm not sure a person could easily recoup the overhead it took to make it. Should they want to sell it... Thanks, Mike
Honestly, most of the stuff I make is just because I want to. I push myself to try new things. But yes, the numbers are favorable. That’s $200 one time and you can use little epoxy to fill it. On the same token like I was saying in the video this was a test run. I’ll be able to use much much less silicone on one that’s just a little smaller. Just have to make another one.
I'd been rolling around similar ideas in my head the past few weeks but you nailed it. That color combo was sick af. Curious how you refine the process of molding as you go along and dying to see the finished bowl, too! Nice work.
@@EppsCreations I wasn't quite clear as to why you needed the added silicone (clear type) over the top of the blue mold. Was it to keep it from flexing and going out of shape or why take that extra step?
It did add some strength to the mold but the main intention was to allow it to flow down to the bottom of the mold and create a perfect outside wall so I could seal it with flashing since the 1/2” thick silicone section wasn’t working. Not enough to properly seal on its own.
@@EppsCreations lol! I definitely felt that, but damn if it didnt come out nice!! WOW - HUGE Undertaking - JOB WELL DONE! Loved the color mix. 🤩
Thank you! Definitely surprised me when I seen what was inside!!!
Great idea, hope it leads to a lot of return visits. The colors came out beautifully.
Oh I’m sure it will. Just picked up some stuff today for some “variety” lol.
Great, I make a LOT of mills, looking forward to yours.
Great idea to save using so much resin.
Exactly! Knowing how epoxy works this is one way to manipulate it into beauty.
Hi , thank you for showing this there’s barely any videos. Though if I were to only use liquid silicone would it be the same process?
Definitely seems to help with saving resin and time (for future projects). Love the colors. Can't wait to see the finished project!!

Ahhh. Yea making it into a mold instead of just a round blank saves A LOT of time! Lol.
Very nice idea. Thank you for sharing your video.
Thanks Mark. It was bound to happen. Knew what I could do with color, just needed a better platform.
Great way to save on resin too. Very cool bud
Thanks man. Going for a redo though 😉
Amazing man. Next gen stuff
Thanks man! It’s a bit of a process and cost to fill it, but I don’t mind for what comes out lol.
I've been waiting for someone to do this. Hope you will show the turn and finale look and how many ounces it took.
Good one,
Lee

I’m actually looking for an old propane tank to chop up and weld into a bigger pot 😂. I wanna go full 24”!

You’re very welcome. And thanks for watching!
you took me back a long ways when you made that glue calzone
If only it were easy to knead like bread 😫. Stuff was tough!
