Thanks for stopping by, If you have time you can check out my new range of Eggs here www.etsy.com/shop/bensworx
Feel better, mate. Also, is that resin dust at the end there, or are you turning grey? 🤔
I'm from Egypt how can I pay eggs I don't know help me if you know
get better mate!
Won't the water and sand erode the glass inside or make it cloudy over time?
Also I'd probably use distilled water next time lol
Oh.... since you used live water which contains bacteria. I wonder if algae will grow coating the inside of the glass ball. I watched Cody's Lab do a sealed system and that is exactly what happened it might be cool looking or it could go the other way. This will be interesting to find out as time passes
Yeah that’s one of the reasons I used my tank water instead of an oil based liquid 😊
Perhaps sunlight may have some effects on algae growing inside of it.
I was also wondering about the possibility of algae growth using aquarium water, you’ll just have to do regular water changes, that should make for another interesting video.
It'll depend on how much light hits these. Without food coming into the water the bacteria might die off, and without the bacteria there might not be enough nutrients for algae to grow.
🤔
The centrifugal force of the speed your turning probably keeps it all to one side.
Always fun watching Ben polish his knob on a Friday evening. 😂
Beautiful work as always!
Thanks Mate 😊
O.O oh boy... I didn't realized THAT
🤣🤣🤣🤣
This was the joke I was trying to make. Well done.
I didn’t want to say anything but…. Ooo yeah…😂
11:15 Whew! Good thing you made two.
I wasn’t expecting the resin to cause such a magnified effect. It turned out super pretty so congratulations!!!
Thanks Kara
I don't know why but watching someone working on a turning machine is really calming
They look amazing! I had a young lady come to me with a pair of earrings she'd inherited from her grandma, heart shaped opals set around a star, I thought they were lovely as is, but she was 16 and they weren't her thing, she wanted a beach theme also. So I cut off the opals and put them into a pendant and earrings that contained oil, rather than water, using her grandma's ashes as the sand. The opals floated around in the oil, and I managed to save the star part of the earrings for her to continue wearing. I wish I'd seen this video at the time, I spent all day on just the pendant lol She was over the moon with them though, so to me it was worth it, just for her reaction alone. great video, thanks so much x
Oh my gosh when you said how you wondered if the sand and shells had scratched the inside of the glass I mentally was groaning nooooooo imagine all that work ruined!
So so glad they worked out beautifully.
I’m only 2 minutes in but I already know I would love to see some dragons eggs like that on the Etsy store!
an unbreakable snowglobe!
I am a seashell fiend! I adore these knobs!
For the ultimate beach home. 🧡
Your knob's a beaut mate!
...I'm wondering if the water will go cloudy - it's not sterile, but then again it's in an anaerobic environment, so hard to say. I was shocked that both pressure changes didn't pop the spheres too. Amazing work!
Thankyou, I’m hoping we see some changes in the water
@@BensWorx i'd love an update if it does change! :D
Me toooo
Me 3
i had the same thought but it was most likely sterilized when he blasted it with UV for a few minutes, it would be interesting to see if anything survived.
Wow Ben, you truly are a remarkable tradesman. Your knobs, errrrr, ummmm, are awesome…. 😅
Hey bud you know black sand with the neon black light reactivate colored shells would look really cool. Especially onnthe fish tank cabinet. It will give some contrast
This is the only time, asking people to check out your knobs is allowed.
You need to make more of these, I'd definitely get them off your etsy.
Every single time you speak, it's so soothing and wholesome. What wonderful videos.
I bet your house is really cool with your dog and fish tank and resin projects and cool creative family!
Thanks Melissa, yeah there’s always something going on 😊
Would Love to see how they look these days !!😜
They came out really good. I love the magnification that happens when you turn a globe.
Many years ago I went to make a simple gear knob using a glass light bulb as the mould. Poured a layer and put a 5 cent piece in and poured another layer. Sometime after the second layer someone knocked it over and broke the glass mould. Needless to say the gear knob become a paper weight and everyone liked how big the 5 cent piece looked. I moved house and it disappeared. One day I might make another.
Hope your feeling better now. Get well soon. 👍🏻
Thankyou 😊 I hope you make another one
@@BensWorx I’d like too but these days I’m pretty useless. That’s why I watch you. 👍🏻
loving this channel. was waiting for you to say "now to use some "5 min" epoxy and let it set over night" lol
So pretty! Your idea will soon be used by others and you will be able to pick them up at the store..but we’ll know where the idea came from!
Nice pair of knobs the Ben! 👍 next week on Ben's Worx we see Ben make a lovely pair of Knockers 🤣🤣👍
That is a pair of gorgeous knobs, mate!
Could you maybe make a personalized GLASS MARBLE SET? man those would be so awesome making EACH ONE UNIQUE!!!
It would be cool if you did regular sized door knobs for other doors in your house. They could be resin filled with the theme of the room or with something the person likes who stays in that room. I liked how you showed the knobs being put on the doors. If I had a door knob made it would have The General Lee (from "The Dukes of Hazzard") matchbox car in it. I am a huge fan of that show...AND your channel Keep up with your awesome creativity!
Gorgeous fish tank!
What a neat idea! I hope you and Nicole are tip top again in no time!
Thanks Angela
@@BensWorx you're very welcome. Your work is always wonderful ☺️
That fish tank is gorgeous!! I love the flora and fauna.
These turned out awesome, Ben!!! Unfortunately, I didn’t see anything from the pot cam, but they look like whatever leaked didn’t do so for long!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Those are a couple of the coolest things I have seen. I like little details with flair.
“Turned “ out great. I need a set for home 👍
Thanks 😊
Nice knob
They’re so freaking cool that I wouldn’t want them on my doors; I’d want them on my desk so I could always play with them!
You should take pics daily of the knobs, and do a timelapse of them in like a few monthd from now, so we can watch as whatever bacteria/algae might be in the water start to grow!
Yeah, definitely do more spherical things because it's such a mind trip to not know where something ends or begins inside of the polished piece. Trippy and cool. :)
OMG the wife and I think your knobs are beautiful 😂, they look incredible, need 8 of them please 🤣
Thankyou 😊
He only has 2 knobs ;)
I was today years old when I learned of these knobs. Great work. TFS
These look great! I hope the fish water doesn't make them cloudy over time. If you do any more like these, I would suggest using sterilized water.
I think you should play with this idea more. Like add a drop or 2 of transparent color, or turn the resin layer larger than the shaker glass layer so it will look like a large bubble inside of the resin layer.
Hope you get better soon. 💕
making a sealed terrarium would be pretty cool. :)
Ben! I can't believe I didn't ask you to do this. (To make knobs. Not exactly the way your doing it. Which is much better than what I thought of, but you get the idea.) I asked Nick Zammeti a couple of times. He didn't seem interested. But you always know a great idea when you read it! 😂
I'm so excited to finish watching...
Thanks Tracy 😊
Very cool idea! I think you should do some shaker eggs 😁
I would love an update on your knobs!
This is a fascinating concept and I’d be interested to see how it’s holding up to real world use/conditions!❤

It would be cool if you put this on your Etsy shop. But without the door attachment. Maybe just a nice stand! I would I totally buy one!
It looked to me that when you sealed the glass bulb, that the acrylic disk was just a bit off the rim on one side. Perhaps a bit of water and sand escaped before the UV was completely solid. But beautiful stuff as usual Ben. Feel better 😷 😊 soon.
Thanks Brian 😊
I noticed that; he also should have added a little weight to the acrylic before turning on the UV light.
Ben, the sand and water came ot during the vacuum process. When you applied the vacuum, the air in the knobs expanded, forcing out some sand and water. It only happened on one because the other one must have had a better seal. 👍 Nice knobs!! 👍👍👍
What an amazing idea for a beach themed kitchen renovation.
I really enjoyed the way you polished those knobs. 😉
😊
Improved those Gainsborough porcelain knobs by about 4000%!
What a cool idea! the sand and shells as door knobs work way better than i thought
Good job man!
Thankyou
Wonderful work you did!
Also the video: Not much talk, but on point, and smooth music.
the coolest door knobs I have ever seen
Beautiful.....Beachy and Beautiful !!!! Thanks again for a awesome video!!! Xoxo
Thanks Traci
It’s beautiful. Now you need to do a full size door knob.
Love these videos the wife and I look forward to watching these every week
Thanks Micheal
Those are gorgeous. You're very skilled!
Take care of yourself Ben...these turned out beautifully!!! Maybe do a quick follow up to see if any algae growth happens or water Tues cloudy....or not...Thanks from Canada!!!
Thanks Maurice, will do
I've recently got me a 1965 VW Beetle and after being subscribed to your channel for a good while and seeing all the cool things you make. It has been making me want a custom or unique shifter knob.
Seeing them on the cupboard was nice. They look good.
So utterly satisfying to watch the resin round out as you have it on the lathe
Had to back track to pot cam, nothing seemed to leak, no problem they are gorgeous and filled with memories. Great project, the little glass balls are so cute 😁💕👍 Thank you
Thanks Alison, yeah I couldn’t see anything either, it was really strange
@@BensWorx i'm thinking... perhaps something go out in the vacuum chamber? like a drop of water with a little bit of sand? idk, maybe i'm reaching
I have a starry night egg with a butterfly you made on the mantle of my fireplace. My daughter always enjoys looking at it as do I
Thankyou 😊
Holy cow I would have never thought to create such a thing but now I want shaker knobs somewhere in my house so bad. They're beautiful and so unique!
It's amazing how close you got your knobs shaved down!
Unique one of a kinders, or rather two of a kinders in this case, very cool.
Thanks Mate
That would make a really cool shifter knob
Freaking Awesome as always Ben!! Bloody love them! My heart dropped at the thought of them scratched but so relieved when the spin would act like the rides at shows were your stuck to the side 🤣 They look cool as. Hope u feel better and don't give it to Nicole 😁
Thanks Sas! Yeah me too 😊 unfortunately Nicole and I got sick together, we are starting to feel better though 👍
Really neat Ben! I hope you get to feeling better soon!
Thanks Mike 😊
Very clever, Ben. 👍👍👍
Thanks Cathy 😊
Nice! Nice fish tank too.
So pretty! 💜💜
Thanks Lynn 😊
Omg, I love that you're a fish person too. Hehe Live plants and all! As Chirs, of Fish For Thought, would say, "4.23/5, keep up the good work"
Dude you got some serious skills. 😎👍💯
I absolutely love the knobs I thought I would have seen the glass barrier in the knob as well but you can't and it's very pretty
I hope the cupboard doors have good hinges. I’d have to give the doors a solid shaking from time to time. 🌸
Awesome door knob’s they turned out awesomely loved the video
Thanks Beth 😊
Those are some good looking knobs.
Great knobs Ben! 😎
Thankyou
Beautiful and fun idea, and I see in other comments that you want to see if things grow in it but for anyone wanting to do this at home I would not recommend using fish tank water! The amount of gunk in it, like bacteria and algae, will surely cloud the water in no time. I would recommend instead distilled water, and sterilize the bulb and anything going inside it first with boiling or at the very least rubbing alcohol, to prevent any nasty stuff growing inside it.
That's wild that the epoxy magnified the inner glass to the point you can't tell how thick the epoxy layer is. It just looks like a glass bulb.
Fantastic knobs, very creative idea. Hope you feel better.
Thanks Mark, I appreciate it 😊
Hope you feel better soon, take care
Thanks Melissa 😊
Absolutely the coolest project of the year! Well done!
This concept would make for a cool shift knob
What I am surprised at is you don't see the glass under the resin. Great job
Great one Ben! Love this idea
Thanks
Thanks Sas 😊
Wow, those turned out brilliant!✌🏻
Thanks Holly
Tell you what Ben, they're brilliant! What a great idea ! They look fantastic mate.
Just found your channel recipe toy and I’m really enjoying the content!
I even find myself whistling your final display music!
Thank you for your creativity, earnestness, and kind manor.
Ok. Woah! Hold up! Your aquarium is beautiful!! That is an inspiration there! I just had to dismantle mine to put in new floors and your tank is giving me ideas!!
Oh and the knobs are super cool too!! Working on refurbing a dresser and need new handles/pulls. This is a cool thought!!
Your tank is beautiful
Thankyou
Hey! You could use this technique to make snow globes! Maybe the resin will keep the water from evaporating!
Nice knobs 😊
Thankyou
Considering I’m a beactguy, I really love those. Very cool. 👏👏👏
Remarkable looking !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Jerry 😊
Man that's so crazy, I was also thinking that the sand and shells could have scratched the inside. I cant believe you said that right as I was thinking it. But then I thought the centrifugal force would only keep it to one side as it spins.
Great project. Nothing I would have thought of doing. Get better soon.
Thankyou 😊
i know who i’m going to the next time i need my knob polished 😉 great project mate
