Primetime Fescue
Добавлен 23 окт 2022
My goal is to help and show folks who have fescue how I maintain my property which is 31,000sqft of irrigated fescue! My way may not be the way you agree with or how other folks do things and that’s ok but there’s more than one way to do things in this industry! It gets incredibly hot and humid in NC during the summer and can get really cold in the winter! Weather is downright unpredictable being in the foothills of NC which is at the base of the Appalachian mountains!

Same here man....I'm cutting back too. I have 1.5 acres!!!
@@revd6239 just isn’t worth it man. At the end of the day it’s just grass and without water there’s nothing that can be done even with irrigation when it’s dry like last summer here still isn’t enough it’s basically a bandaid on a severe cut that needs stitches!
@Primetime_Fescue rightttt
20!!!! Help me!!!
Would have loved to have seen it under snow.
Great product. Urea and ammonium sulfate. 5.5 sulfur. Been using on my kgb up here in massachusetts. Also their products on my bunker capes on the golf course. Love winter up here. Grinding units. Rebuilding rollers etc. lots of tree work and machine maintenance. Feel better🫡. Your property looks awesome as always. From one super to another. Just had my 25 year umass turf reunion Time flies 😂
Winter maintenance on a golf course! I definitely don’t miss that part lol.
I like it! Good call Brad. Look forward to the process. Will you be updating your lawn care program? If you need any help with that just holla.
I'm in the same boat with my yard, I'd rather save on fertilizer and concentrate on fungicides more. I feel the fungicides are way more important than the fertilizer, fertilizer is important too but those nutrients still exist naturally, fungicides don't. My yard is about the same size as yours so it gets spendyyy!!
I couldn’t agree more!
That’s a nice Jeep!
🙏
Rebuild the fuel system; the only thing left was the fuel injectors and maybe a high-pressure fuel pump. Yeah, I cut back last year. I throw down heavy in the spring, and after that, I spoon-feed just enough AMS + iron to keep it green.
Economy sucks !! It's bout to get better tho I'm switch up between urea and ams i am going to do a strong fungicide program and grub control I have some iron some kelp and some calcium and prob some phosphite that's bout it here ive also decided against fixing my spots im pull plugs instead just don't have the money to seed twice again
Smart man! The goal should always be as nice of a lawn as possible, but at a reasonable cost. Love it!
🙏
What bio will you be using?
Adam’s Earth
Cutting back here too!! I mixed all my open bags of fert , just hand spreading a lil here and there till its gone!!
Great looking Jeep!!!
🙏
Need to cut mine but Dam its been cold here in Chesapeake Va
Yeap

Hi, your lawn looks amazing. I'm in maryland and I notice the lawn has a slight yellowing in some areas. I hope it's the temperature (30s at night) and not something major. Your thoughts.
More than likely it’s just the colder temps. Mine is turning a bit yellow from the temps and rain which is very common
Looks great 👍🏻 along the side is it a row of arborvitae?
Yes sir
Excellent work! Looks fantastic! KBG looks like it's loving life 😎
🙏
Great video! Good information! God bless you and Merry Christmas
🙏 you also
Dude it's looking so good. Love the KBG area can't wait to see how it pops in the spring.
Thank you!
Looks great bro! You gonna be bored this winter haha
🤣🤣 probably so but I was tired of looking at that mess.
Looks amazing! The landscaping looks great! The Bluegrass looks like it could be on any golf course! God bless you and Merry Christmas!
Thank you! Same to you!!
Looks outstanding!! Great work!
Thank you!
Really nice landscaping!!
🙏
Landscaping looks good along with the Kentucky Bluegrass.

Looks great as always. Cant believe it’s been 26 years since I graduated from umass turfgrass. It’s been so fun managing and building top level golf courses all over the world.
Looks great!!
🙏
Looks awesome! Hopefully I can start my back yard KBG reno next fall and it turns out half as good as yours
I’m sure it will turn out great! Just remember it’s really slow lol.
Looking good
🙏
Everything looks great!!! The fescue looks like it's still growing even though we have had temperatures at night in the teens. Mine actually needs a mow, but I need to wait until we have a week of warmer temperatures. Will you mow your fescue anymore this winter?
Hard to say about mowing! I want mow it when it’s cold for several mornings but if I get a few mornings I’m a row that there’s no frost I will
@Primetime_Fescue yeah. That's what I'm looking for, too. I think one more mow would be the last one until spring. I've just got to know that there will be no frost for at least 3 to 4 days.
Landscape projects turned out nice. Grass looks 💎
🙏
Your KGB is looking fantastic!
🙏 it has really came on!!
Looks really good. Gave me great ideas to what to do to start my landscaping 👌

Kentucky looking awesome! As well as the winter projects.

Enjoyed every bit of content. You probably made a video about this, but I just wanted to find out how you got into the green industry and the path to becoming a fertilizer applicator. I'm looking to figure this out during winter break in my state of Virginia and talked to the local figures. I don't got experience as far as working in a golf course or trugreen (or for us Virginia Green), but I sure love the more "technical" side beside the traditional cut, blow, and edge. Plus, technically higher profit margins than just cutting grass. Thanks
This all started because I loved golf lol. Started playing when I was about 8 years old I lived and breathed it played high school golf then got recruited to play college golf. Sadly I tore my acl my senior year of high school got it rehabbed enough to play high school regionals and I won it. Done committed to a small college which I picked because they offered turfgrass management and I knew I wanted to do something related to golf. Went to college for turfgrass management while I was in college started an internship there and done that until I had my degree and stayed at that course and worked my way up to assistant. Unfortunately after being in the turf industry for a while and the hours were extreme with not great pay I left it. Now I could have definitely moved on to a nicer area with more pay but I had just met my future wife to be about 1 year prior to me getting out of the industry and moving off wasn’t a option then so I got out of it. To answer your question about applicator license it’s different in each state but here in NC you just sign up and pay and go take the test that’s it or that’s how it was way back when I done it. I do definitely miss doing it that’s why I do this here at my house but I definitely don’t miss the hours involved along with the pay at the time this was back in late 90s through about 2005. I’m sure the pay is much better now but I guarantee you the hours are still extreme!
Beautiful place sir
Thank you!!
I'm here for the growing season. Completely understand, thank you for all your content. See ya next year, its breakttime. Lol
🙏
She’s DARK
Enjoy all the informative videos! 1 silly question for u, what makes 46-0-0 different than gci 30-0-0? Just more nitrogen?
46-0-0 would be straight Urea. The Gci is 30-0-0 and it’s Urea and AMS which AMS straight is 21-0-0
keep at it! I watch your content and pick up things. I would really like to know how did you come about buying your property and do you plan to keep a such a large yard as you get older? I would like to know as I am past 45 and would love to have a property like you and Pete. But it may not be realistic as I get older. 😄😄
I didn’t buy the property this land has been my family’s since early 1900s this was my grandparents house and farm. I grew up here my mom is next door which I moved away for several years. My dad passed away in 2017 so I moved back to help my mom and moved in my grandparents house. I’m 44 it gets harder everyday to keep up I actually keep up about 4 acres but my lawn and beds get the majority of the attention and I will do it as long as I can!
Beautiful beautiful property lawn is impeccable 😮i like ur videos keep posting i just did full kbg reno last september and i used gci blue heat and wow what a huge diff from regular seed people stop and ask me if the lawn is real lol even now its lookinf like spring time while all the neighborhood is going dormant !! By the looks of it u take alot of pride in your property great job and hard work !!!
🙏
Hey man your grass looks very good. Especially that KBG. I’m in Bushkill Pennsylvania where for the last 3 weeks we been no higher than 30 degrees f. Plus 2 snow falls. And I gotta say the tall fescue I seeded on my renovation is still holding its color strong. Very impressed. I hope next season my lawn looks just as beautiful as yours
🙏
Keep at it, love your content. I think it's just that time of the year for most lawn content creators. I really think it takes a while for something to really hit and go viral and the views will come. You bring a different aspect I think to the lawn content and will keep on watching every video.
Thank you 👊👊
What type of fertilizer do you use for slow release for the spring, summer and fall?
I use a Nutrite 21-0-16 it’s 58% slow
@Primetime_Fescue is that a granular or liquid fertilizer? And, where do you get it from?
That’s a granular. I use liquid also which is a 18-3-4 plantfood company. Unfortunately you would have to find a dealer for both. I’m just lucky I have a dealer here local for both.
@Primetime_Fescue Thank you!
Plans this winter is to find a good aerator
By the looks of it you nailed it man I should of went harder with the fast release I was late on that and fescue got better but it still never really took off I'm hoping next year is better but your lawn is back 100 great job man
🙏 I’ve also had very mild weather up until this application last few days have been lows in the low to mid 20s with 2 nights next week going to be teens so it’s about to fade real fast!
