    How about some Drift Roses, they only get 1-2 ft tall and they would love the full sun that the area appears to get.

    How about a rock garden, or some type of flower bed? I'm not sure where you live, but several types of bulbs that bloom at different times of the year.
    As far as the aeration plugs, could you sweep them or roll the turf?
    Blessings to you

      Thanks for the suggestion!! There will be a rock in there. Flowers are an option also! As far as the cores a lawn sweep might work idk don’t have one but it might work! Rolling them would smash them down like they get now unfortunately unless it was just bone dry which mine doesn’t get because I have irrigation.

    Nellie Stevens holly in middle as a focal point. Soft touch hollies in a circle around the the Nellie Stevens. Variegated lioripe circle close to turf edge.

    Big boulder like you mentioned surrounded with the grasses you have in the other beds. Would give a consistent theme. Just a thought. 😊

    A lot of dwarf evergreen varieties are low/ no maintenance.
    Burning bush is very pretty in the fall if you want a pop of red in the fall. They are a bit wild looking in the summer, but you can prune them.
    3 or 4 Chinese silver grass with some decorative rock would look great there. You just have to cut em back in late winter/ early spring.

    There are some evergreen shrubs. No idea what they are called but they are kind spreading and low. I am looking to do a couple dry spots in my lawn and at the same time add interest to my lawn.

    That grass is amazing Looks so good! I only wish my mower would let me cut it higher than 4in.. I was thinking you can maybe turn that area into a dog potty or plopping down just some seating with a Webber and putting a portable firepit on top of the old tree stump, that would look cool. Maybe turn it into a gigantic compost pile or Could also store a good amounts of firewood there.

    I realize it's nothing like you describe, but I would maybe do a deep red Japanese maple, and a planting of seasonal annuals around. IMO your yard is AMAZING but you are slightly lacking in non green color. Just my 2c

    • @Primetime_Fescue
      @Primetime_Fescue  3 месяца назад

      I can totally appreciate this! I am lacking. I just want the beds as low maintenance as possible lol. It’s enough just edging 17,000sqft of them and then trying to control the weeds in them also.

    My guy I think a Crape Myrtle would be great! Shallow root system, good height, and beautiful! The stump will rot and the crape’s roots will grow at about the same rate!

    • @Primetime_Fescue
      @Primetime_Fescue  3 месяца назад +1

      This is definitely a consideration!! Thanks!

  • @TopTierLawnCareServices

    I'd go a Japanese red maple or crape myrtle, they aren't to fussy and have a shallow root system so the could deal with the old stump. If you go that route I would plant a small one, like 1 or 2 feet tall, it will take better. Shrubs you couldn't go wrong with a couple of Spireas, they are very hardy and adaptive with many varieties and leave colors to choose from.

    The fire pit is a good idea but maybe a big boulder in the center with some nice hydrangeas around it for some color! Also that fescue is on fire!!! It’s been so dry here in Jersey my irrigation can’t even keep up

  • @Name-ti3vw
    @Name-ti3vw 3 месяца назад

    I honestly think you should go with the classics like Flowering Cherry, Redbud, Dogwood, Crab Apple, Japanese Maple, Little Gem Magnolia, or even a Myrtle but you gonna have to keep it prune every year to a size.

    • @Primetime_Fescue
      @Primetime_Fescue  3 месяца назад

      I have definitely thought about a Japanese maple and a Myrtle only issue is obviously those trees are a lot wider than the trunk of the tree that was there and it would block irrigation bad. Japanese maple definitely would. Irrigation head is right beside it.

    • @Name-ti3vw
      @Name-ti3vw 3 месяца назад +1

      @@Primetime_Fescue Yeah Myrtle roots run far I noticed that once. I think a Japanese Maple is a top choice. They tend to be low maintenance and shallow roots.
