    • @PoloFieldsLawnService

      As long as the non-selective herbicide gets on the grass blades and not the tree, everything will be fine. My intention was to spray the grass around the tree and nit spray the tree. This will eliminate the grass all the way down to the root, and the mulch will keep it from getting sunlight so that no grass will grow in the future.

    Love the tutorial. Exactly what I need to know, but at the risk of sounding stupid, what is in the holy water? I’m concerned that mulch alone won’t kill the sad little grass around my tree. I’m guessing it’s something like Round Up, but I would love an alternative

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService  Год назад +1

      Holy water is Glyphosate , or you can use round up. I just give it a nick name 🙂 When you spray it, spray the grass, NOT THE TREE.

    • @amigo4909
      @amigo4909 Год назад +1

      I would try and do this without any chemicals-I would also note the tree around the trunk should be free of mulch at least three or four inches, if the trunk cant breath it will slowly start to decompose and will likely give a place for bugs to thrive

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService  Год назад +1

      @amigo4909 Hello, the chemical was just to take care of the existing grass that was around the tree. Also, I did remove some of the mulch that was at the base of the tree so that it could breath 👌🏾

      @austinitel.2972 You can use round up that you get from the store. Once you've created your edge, right before you apply the mulch, spray the grass around the tree where the mulch is going. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT SPRAY THE TREE. The glyphosate will work its way into the grass blades and eventually wilt away. You don't have to wait a couple of days. @martinf.2705 When I say holy water, I mean round up. You can purchase that at lowes, Home Depot, etc. When you spray it, spray the area that I was talking about in this video. DO NOT SPRAY THE TREE OR THE GRASS OUTSIDE OF THE TREE RING AND DONT WALK IN IT AFTER YOU HAVE SPRAYED. Mulch up against touching the trunk is a no no.... and you didn't expose any of the root flare....... trees are gonna suffer in a few years.
    I swear companies that do "lawn services" have absolutely no business pretending to be arborists.
    If you're going to provide a service, at least learn how to do it correctly.

    • @PoloFieldsLawnService
      @PoloFieldsLawnService  Год назад +2

      Correction, the mulch is NOT all the way up to the tree, nor is it touching the trunk. If you watched the video, the base of the trunk is level with the grass. I've seen trees that you are referring to COVERED in mulch at the base of it. I'm not saying that it won't happen, but I haven't seen one tree die yet. Lastly, Sir or Ma'am, I'm not pretending to be ANYTHING. I believe that I always give out great information to help bless others. If I'm wrong, I'll admit for sure. Thanks for your comment, and have a blessed day 🙏🏾
