Wow! Modern and clean looking. You did a fabulous job on this house. Unbelievable it is amazing. Love the colors and I love you kept the tiles on the outside of the house they last forever.
That porch was everything to me. I have soggy packages 📦, get up to 6ft of snow drifts blocking the doors in winter, no shade in summer, and rain sneaking in while I wait for my animals to enter/ exit. I long for that little bit of shelter.
You really hit the nail on the head. As you demonstrate, there a fine balance on a house like this between optimizing the value and spending more than the payback you get. Very nice!
I've always loved buying a house in a dodgey but respectable neighborhood and then watching the transformation of the other houses. I have a knack for it and it's been my biggest money maker over the years. Great video.

Greetings from Norway. Forget the haters! You have done a tremendous work on your house. And thank you for sharing your experience with the rest of the world. Enjoy your new home.
Nearly 40 years ago my father, with the assistance of friends and brothers who had experience in construction, cabinetry, and electrical among other things built our ranch home from the ground up. The care and dedication they put into their work resulted in a home that is STILL appraised higher than other homes of the same style simply for the thought they put into the process. It just goes to show that if you have a handful of individuals willing to put the time and effort into a project, you can turn up gold! Loving watching your work as it brings back fond memories!
Wow, thanks for your great video. I have a LLC and have rehabbed one house so far for rental income. I too bought the worst house in a nearby neighborhood and spent a year fixing it up. I am now looking for another house to rehab, and your Curb Appeal projects are an inspiration. Bravo!
Your neighbors must love you. What a gorgeous transformation. Anyone who left a negative comment doesn’t see the bigger picture of how any upgrades help a neighborhood or the homeowners who come after, especially if those homeowners are younger couples just starting out who need a small home but don’t want to move into a dump that needs a ton of work. My great grandfathers house still stands today with his wife still living inside of it. He passed away many years ago but his work will live into my great grandchildren’s lives

Where I live there are big restrictions on doing renovation work on asbestos. Stuff like that...just make sure to protect yourself...on top of reading all safety precautions when working with it.
Me & my husband bought a “crack” house back in 1989 , we assumed a mortgage with $3500 savings and our house payment was $385 including taxes & insurance. We owed $18,000 on a $50,000 home. The windows were sprayed painted black . He did all the skilled labor and I helped with sweat labor & design. A lot was done before we moved in to make it livable but we did the bathroom , kitchen and utility room the first year .We sold it 5 years later and walked away with $53,000 for the down payment on our 5 bedroom family home. The family who bought it loved it and raised their children there. I still drive by from time to time. Worked so hard on house number 2 too! This looks fantastic- amazing what some creative thought and hard work without breaking the bank can do. What a transformation- it looks like a new house yet without the waste of demolition when ironically this older house WILL be better built than any new home.
More young couples need to buy starter homes like this and do that work - if the entire neighborhood was mostly bought up as starter homes and people did these fixer upper things, the majority of the neighborhood being upgraded would benefit everybody.
NO. Not only are "young couples" buying old charm homes and stripping them of character but theyre also doing them without professional help or hiring out for cheap and doing shit jobs of renos. So many homes that had potential have been ruined because people come in looking to make a profit and because they arent going to live there themselves they dont care about the quality of work done.
That's true, but I'm trying to keep the old charm of my fixer upper. I have painted the crap out of it though. I'm working on a facelift of the house instead of a re design. I even kept the wood paneling "which is solid wood@@viepng
@@viepngin my area you can pay a contractor top dollar and will only get slightly better (sometimes worse) quality than DIY and will go weeks or even months without showing up in the middle of the project, all while giving you the runaround.
The people that said it was still just as bad after the outside refresh before the porch roof went on are insane, or just trolls. The house looks miles better than before. The porch roof was just cherry on top. This is an awesome update overall.
Just found you today but have subscribed immediately. I love your ideas and hard work. As a 68 yr old woman who rides 8 miles on a recumbent bike everyday I’m always looking for great content to pass the time.
I also want to mention that if I drove by this home , my impression would be that a hardworking, industrious middle class couple lived there, who took pride in their home!!
When you are struggling and you value anything that comes your way, you will practically live with any situation, until you can get it fixed. People who do not know what it feels like to really struggle have no idea of the concept of valuing…everything that comes your way, no matter how it looks. I would have lived in this house just the way it was. You made it look beautiful. People who leave negative comments hate themselves and their life, that’s why they behave like bullies. I loved that you did it without the permit at first, I do that in my life so much, I say….ah, the hell with it, when they come I will deal with it. The hoops that this world has simply invented to suck money out of people is incredible annoying. Great work, it looks amazing! 🎉
Very nice job! House looks great. I’ve done 4 houses now, started at 50 years old, never intended to, but life circumstances brought me to do them. If I can do it at 50 and I’m a female, a young kid can do this. I think men are born with a knowledge of building that women don’t have, it takes me a bit longer but the houses are beautiful after. Yes the neighbors are grateful.
Speak for yourself sis, I've done every hardware project, my husband takes care of the cooking and that's catering to our strengths. Don't confuse nurture with nature.
People who are negative… “I can afford a mortgage , but still think it’s horrible “ kind of people, are negative in everyday life. They love to pass judgement and like to stick out of the crowd by having others respond to their rediculous comments. I guarantee if you watch other videos, you’ll see these same pathetic people being rude and insulting! The guy in this video did a great job for what he had to work with !
When I was younger I too would buy houses to flip. I invested very well when I was still in college and I retired when I was 43. I’m too old now to put in sweat equity into flipping houses, so now during the summer I grow enough fruits and veggies to sustain us for a year. Whatever we grow I always freeze dry the excess. During the fall we make our yearly trip to my wife’s family 17K acre farm / ranch in Montana (a 12 hour drive). We barter some of our freeze dried veggies and fruit for 1/2 a beef and a pig. I’m glad to see that you’re doing such a good job on your house
I think you did a great job. The only thing I would add are some wood flower boxes underneath the windows to connect the wood around the door. Same stain.
Good job. Maybe consider flower boxes with longer shutters to make the windows look bigger. A wider front porch might have made the house look more comfy. My friend said taller bushes under the windows. You did a great transformation, and I applaud you.
Fantastic! Just made the house shine in its own right! (As opposed to trying to make it appear as a house it is not. I bet this inspires the home owners around it to keep up with the pace!!! Very nice work!!
It looks much better! The thing that would make the most difference now is longer windows across the front. Those short windows are what they put in trailers. Longer ones would look much better. Just a thought…🤗🐝❤️
Those short, high up windows were kind of an 80's thing (glad they stopped doing that). But yeah, I would put in some newer style windows just to help break up the blocky look of the house.
I really ENJOYED watching you work on this DUMP!!!! You TRULY TRANSFORMED IT!!!! The only thing missing would be to have it BLESSED!!!! After all, it was a "CRACK HOUSE"!!!!
One. It’s beautiful! Two. Don’t ever try to get away without a permit. It’s a nightmare when they find you. And it’s the nicest house in the neighborhood

@@Plutogalaxy lol
That's true, but I'm trying to keep the old charm of my fixer upper. I have painted the crap out of it though. I'm working on a facelift of the house instead of a re design. I even kept the wood paneling "which is solid wood@@viepng
It would be great for an elder downsize as well.
@@viepngin my area you can pay a contractor top dollar and will only get slightly better (sometimes worse) quality than DIY and will go weeks or even months without showing up in the middle of the project, all while giving you the runaround.
The gabel made it perfect! I love the solid concrete garden bed too, opposed to the typical landscape blocking! Nice work!
The people that said it was still just as bad after the outside refresh before the porch roof went on are insane, or just trolls. The house looks miles better than before. The porch roof was just cherry on top. This is an awesome update overall.
Haters will hate. The place looks great!
Haters will hate, potatoes will potate
Still looking for these so called haters 🤖
I just bought my first home this month, I keep coming back to your channel for ideas and instructions.
Thanks!
Congratulations on the home purchase! Good luck with all of you projects and thanks for the support!
Your attention to detail is evident in your quality work.
Actually, I really like the "Smurf blue" color on the door! Everything looks fantastic!
I would have added an entire front porch - you worked so hard on this redo
EXCELLENT, great job, awesome colors, it all looks so beautiful , wonderful !
I appreciate it, Michaela!
Just found you today but have subscribed immediately. I love your ideas and hard work. As a 68 yr old woman who rides 8 miles on a recumbent bike everyday I’m always looking for great content to pass the time.
Beautiful job. I can’t even put up a shelf so I find this sort of video just… phenomenal! Great stuff 👍
I also want to mention that if I drove by this home , my impression would be that a hardworking, industrious middle class couple lived there, who took pride in their home!!
Amen
Wonderful! You are so talented.
Same
shut up
When you are struggling and you value anything that comes your way, you will practically live with any situation, until you can get it fixed.
Very well said!
Only two minutes in to the video and the difference is amazing!! Great job!
Turned that whole house around! 😮💨👌🏽
If you feel you're missing some building knowledge, okay, but there's no need to say all women are like that. We aren't. Good for you with your renos!
Speak for yourself sis, I've done every hardware project, my husband takes care of the cooking and that's catering to our strengths. Don't confuse nurture with nature.
Speechless! Your skills, expertise, thorough information. Thank you! God bless you abundantly 😇
The people commenting negatively can't afford a mortgage anyways, let the haters hate, you turned this around!
Why the hate? I think he's doing a great job 👍
Great job.
I can afford a mortgage...just being honest it looks terrible.
@@kevinbutton4580what’s terrible about it?
What would cause you to want to flip a house? Was it because the siding and roof was walling apart or collapsed walls?
@ No, you buy houses that need to be remodeled or have some minor issue, fix them up and resale them for a profit
I think you did a great job. The only thing I would add are some wood flower boxes underneath the windows to connect the wood around the door. Same stain.
I can see how that would give it a cottage vibe would probably tie in with the shutters well.
Man! I can tell a lot of work went into this 15 minute video! Weeks of work I’m sure! Looks really clean! 💪🏼
Good job. Maybe consider flower boxes with longer shutters to make the windows look bigger. A wider front porch might have made the house look more comfy. My friend said taller bushes under the windows. You did a great transformation, and I applaud you.
I agree with you 100%.
Bushes grow larger...
The house was never ugly. Yes it was in disrepair at first. But after that it was just plain. And plain is not a synonym of ugly.
I agree. It wasn't a crap house; it was just clean and plain.. Some people love to criticize.
The description of ugly is the over done boring colours of white and grey on every other house that is done up nowadays.
🤓
What a plethora of information! Thanks for sharing and taking us on this journey!
I rarely like, comment, subscribe. But this is definitely worthy
This is absolutely gorgeous! You did a great job on curb appeal.
Thanks Monique!
Bless you for putting two railings on the front steps. As a handicapped person, I love and need railings with every step.
When I saw this at 0:54 I just closed the video. That's actually insane.
Why?
This project wasn't "lipstick on a pig", it was a full face plastic surgery on a Tyrannosaurus Rex! GREAT job!
Fabulous!!! My Dad did what you did with our family home. I admire you!!!
One. It’s beautiful!
Two. Don’t ever try to get away without a permit. It’s a nightmare when they find you.
And it’s the nicest house in the neighborhood
14:40 did this dude just BACKFLIP? Oh hell 😭
as if he's telling us:
I'm stronger, I'm smarter, I'm better... I AM BETTER!!!
That looks so much better. Thanks for sharing the house looks brand new.
he used creative at 11:00 didn't record my ass
15 minutes full rebuild? That is a pace that just fits perfectly. Thanks!
Turned a crack house into a crack home
I can't tell if this is a compliment or an insult.. explain your joke 🤔
Typically if you have to ask...😅@@keersajuarez7768
