Great video! You should do a video on gray leaf spot fungus alone. Not much info out there and it seems to be one of the absolute worst for fescue, like a video all dedicated to gray leaf and everything to spray for it!
That aerator is money! So as you mentioned in the video it's not DYI, but it really is, I have 23K lawn space and this year I found a place that rents those stinger aerators and it was great.. up to this year I would use the stand push and it kicked my butt. The only thing is in the soft areas I have a learned quickly to turn very slowly or pick the tines up cause I tore a couple areas up. Next year I think I am going to rent the one with the seed box, but I learned about the stinger from watching a Pete video and did a few other videos on them and it was worth the 240.00 daily rental. Good video
Well technically it is diy but a lot of folks wouldn’t consider this diy equipment even though it can be rented. Yes in sharp turn pick tines up and straighten out it will tear it up bad on sharp turns. Smooth flowing long turns it should be fine leaving them down being the drums are independent of each other.
@@Primetime_Fescue Zero rain here in chesapeake since IDK whn , Im watering 3x,s a day x 5 mins and added seed....worst case , Ill need to thin it out later, fingers crossed...8 MVS cultivars 4 TTTF/ 4 KGB
@@robturner7853same here I overseed my neighbors yard and 2 sections in my yard. The other 2 spots that I didn't overseed got hit with fungus after the storm dropped 3 days of rain. They were looking nice before the storm rolled through.
You know Brad, im having the same issues with my lawn since the hurricane. It just doesnt have the pop it usually does in the fall. Seems like most of the baby grass that I overseeded died off from being soaked for 8 days straight and now the lawn seems like growth has slowed too. Color is off, everything is off im at a loss for whats going on never experienced this before
Water has killed a lot of the new grass in mine also. It’s got to be able to breathe just like a human. Aerification is the key to turf!! Look at any golf course or sports field they do it regularly! It’s not all for compaction it so water, nutrients, and gas exchange can get to where it needs to. If you can handle the cores then hit it. I can’t stand them and I would have never pulled cores if I still didn’t have some new grass. The areavator is just to rough on the roots for new grass.
The 2 sections in my yard were looking good before the outskirts of the hurricane dropped too much water now its riddled with fungus. Ill be lowering my height of cut to help the lawn dry out.
I’m honestly not sure sir. I have a turf and agronomy division of southern states about 15mins away and they sell mainly to the golf courses around here and they carry the nutrite fertilizer.
Hey bud question, how often do u aerate during the mowing season? I aerated mine beginning of September and an overseed with tttf, and I agree, aerateing is a game changer!
@danalmeida5380 minimum 2 times a year once in the spring then again at overseeding. This year I done it 4 times 2 times with areavator, 1 time solid tine, and then this video pulling cores
That deck level shot was incredible
🙏
I came here to say the same. Absolute gem of a shot.
