Nissan Terrano, bike reg, backhoe
Today, I'm tweaking up a couple of things on my Nissan Terrano (pathfinder) in an effort to boost it's reliability and make 'life' a bit more comfortable.
Also, I have a look at my brothers Honda CBR1000F to try and diagnose an issue in the charging circuit.
And lastly, I make a start on building the battery cover / foot step for the Case 580 backhoe.

Tyre changer, wheel balancer, backhoe & waterpump

Having a look at an air leak on my tyre changing machine, then fitting & balancing tyres to go onto my Nissan Pathfinder. Pulling apart the panels on the sidestep of the Case 580SK backhoe to inspect and assess the serviceability of the air-conditioning system. Straightening the damaged panels and reassembling the sidestep. Then a quick look at the outcome of a job I did at work a few months ago.
Motorbike ride with my brother
Просмотров 177День назад
My brother has come to Cairns for a visit and to do a motorcycle ride around the area with me. Our first day-trip sees us riding up to Port Douglas and overcoming a few 'teething' issues with the bikes and the tech. On day two, we point the wheels west and enjoy the sights of the tablelands. I hope you enjoy a brief look at part of my family.

Workshop & Case 580 backhoe repairs

Having a look at a few different things, this time. Firstly, the local crop duster is so close to the workshop, you can almost read the part number on the spray nozzles, Then a look at the Perkins waterpump while running. A quick job on our 16 tonne excavator, and then we start fixing up the Kubota waterpump.

Also picking up my brothers bike from the transport depot, then unloading it and firing her up to make sure that 'all is...

Pete, you moving from project to project makes me think of what I do. If I get stuck on something on a project or can’t find a tool, gear puller comes to mind, I will move onto something else instead of wasting time trying to solve problem or find tool. The solution often comes to mind when I’m working on something else or I stumble upon the tool when I’m not looking for it. By the way, I later ran across my gear puller and 2 more.

Mornin Pete . Our day started about 25c on its way about 45c today . But as we say , "it's a dry heat " 😳 When I was a kid , I could tell the brand of diesel engines of the time by the sound . Thanks to you and Steve I can now distinguish the sound of a Perkins 6-354 . I'm sure we had them here also , big not near as common as the Mack , Cummins and Detroits we had here. Hard to tell the new modern diesels , since they all have high pressure fuel systems and turbos now . Here is a question that I have thought about for the last week or so . Since you done the tyres on your loader. Why is it that the inside of the wheels do not rust far more than they do ? That old pump ran good and did its job perfectly mate . Was good to let work a little after a long rest . I agree with oldamericaniron on snakes. I just steer as clear as farI can from them. I agree , there was good variety in this video , keeps it interesting . Take care Pete , I will look forward to the next video . Scott 🌵

Hi again Pete, talked to you last evening and woke up this morning to the video. To an old guy like me the technology is still amazing. I remember when a “long distance “phone call an hour long to a place 40 miles away would have cost as much as driving there. Now we can communicate with someone on the other side of the world as much as we want for a small flat fee each month. I chuckled about the curry comment as I did have a curried chicken meat pie on the road trip with Steve and Nick to Dave’s place. I probably would have resorted to the cutting torch to cut down the cutting edge. Main thing is job done well. @@pete-mate3524 I’ve owned my own tanks since I got out of school. After helping my neighbor as a teenager and saw what you could do with torch it was one of the first things I bought! I’ve since bought extra tanks as always seem to run out when store is closed. But no, I don’t use it as much anymore and oxygen and acetylene have gotten ridiculously expensive. I use propane for heating and cutting and propane is cheap to fill out of my bulk tank for house.
