  • Having a tour of my yard and all the "projects" that I seem to have acquired over the years. I'm genuinely surprised at how much "equipment" (junk) I've collected. Unfortunately, too much to fit in one video!!

      I know what you mean. Sometimes going into old farms is like stepping back in time. They made some really cool stuff back in the day. And some of the farmers were (are) incredibly ingenious with their problem solving skills. Thank you for the comment! :-)

    Hi Pete, great tour. Isn’t it amazing how “stuff” just follows us home, we don’t even have to look for it. At 68 I can tell you the mind stays young and wants to keep making plans, more than I’ll ever get done. You are well on your way for that but it’s a lot better than being bored. In my book dreaming and planning adds up to accomplishing a lot in life and the satisfaction that goes with it. If you found my number in the recent comments give me a call sometime, I think we could find a few things to talk about🤣, anytime of the day is good. See you on the next one.

      Hi Geoffrey! So true about "stuff" finding us. I think I have a 'road trip' coming up soon to collect more stuff. I'll give you a call on Saturday morning (your Friday arvo) to give you the inside scoop!! Talk soon. :-)

    Selling the big compressor and the backhoe can help pay for your new roof on the house. Just a thought.

      Hi Bob, I'm hoping that the roof will last until the house is paid off (at least, mostly paid off), then I'll get a new one fitted. But yes, a very good thought! :-)

    I mean no disrespect to your collection, far form it, but to me the most impressive aspect is how much you have in suburban backyard. :)
    As for the poor souls who 'don't get' why you'd put a modern chassis under pre-war body. There was an old Harley tee-shit that read something like "If I need to explain it - You'll never understand" ... so umm mate ...I think I speak for most of us here when I suggest you don't need that negativity in your life. :)
    PS you are also making me feel so much less guilty about my carefully curated mountain of scrap, rubbish and assorted useful stuff.
    PPS A funny for the day, I serviced two fresh chainsaws this arvo, neither would start. Pulled the plugs first, odd mix of visible symptoms, good compression, spark. Popped the fuel cap and... hang on - I'm sure the bar oil is supposed to go in the the other tank 🤔 Same with the other one, and on examination the bar oil in both was runny as and had a distinctly blueish tinge. 🤣🤣

    • @pete-mate3524
      @pete-mate3524  7 месяцев назад +1

      Ha ha!! The chain won't get lubed properly, but they'll never get it started, so it won't be an issue!! Thanks for telling me that story, I had a good giggle!
      In my mind, I have every intention of getting the 'few' things I need going and selling all the rest. Time will tell if this actually happens. In the meantime, I'm loving the journey!! Thanks for the comment, and the story!! :-)

    • @shanerogers24
      @shanerogers24 7 месяцев назад

      @@pete-mate3524 Oh yeah, that was the 'customer complaint' the saw's wouldn't start. Alas trying to start them sucked bar oil right through the fuel system. So its either replace the lot, or keep pulling away to try and draw enough petrol in to dilute the oil - a problem for future me, and perhaps a can of butane. As for the journey mate, we're loving watching you loving it. I'm going to lay odds on playing cricket on your back lawn, mind :D
