American Expat’s First Time at Seoul's Stunning Starfield Library | Must-See Experience!
As an American expat explorer living in Seoul South Korea, I have visited many of the city's hot tourist spots, but never have I spent so much time at Starfield Library in Seoul. Starfield Library is a hot tourist spot that brings so many tourists and natural Koreans to read, listen to audiobooks, watch movies on their laptops, and take naps with a nice cup of Starbucks coffee. If you are in Seoul South Korea, Starfield Library is a must-visit for a few hours or to spend the day. And the best thing is that it is free!

You make wiser decisions Francois. SK is fortunate to have expats like you.. And so are we
I'd rather be stressed out sometimes in Korea compared to being miserable in NYC. I'm moving to Korea in 2025
I am Korean, I love the vast grasslands of Mongolia. The scenery is very beautiful
Agreed! It's my favorite country to visit!!!
Damn no one corrected/told you on how to pronounce Vientiane 😆🤦🏻♂️
No one at all:( I wish someone had!
@ next time you go ill have to have my aunt show u round shes tour guide n knows all the best spots n foods there
@laysay1645 Niiice! I would appreciate that a lot!!!
There are RUclips videos of Chinese international students participating in the protest. There are Chinese students on stage making speeches against the president of KOREA. And there was a vlog of a Chinese woman who flew to Korea to participate in the protest. I mean.. They blend in perfectly, especially if they spoke Korean. (RUclips erased my last comment.) 😂 I always wonder what would happen if Koreans were caught protesting in one of anti state protests in China. It seems like there is no active law to punish Chinese from intervening Korean politics, which I find very problematic. (Hope this comment doesn't get erased this time.)
Wow...I didn't know that. From a personal standpoint, I find it strange when foreigners protest in political rallies of a foreign country. I don't understand the point, though there may be one. In my opinion, which doesn't count for much, it is how subterfuge happens. I'm happy this comment remained!
₮9,000.0 is roughly $2.65 USD - that's insane. You were walking around with basically $3 😂😂😂
At least I survived! Lol
🌲메리 크리스마스 2024 남은시간 잘 보내시고 한국에서 향운만 가득하길 바람니다
Merry Christmas 2024!! Thank you so much for the well wishes! I'm enjoying my time on Korea so much!:)♡♡♡ Happy Holidays!!
Thats gotta be Cap cuz! Cant be your first time there, lol.
Not first time, but first time I actually went to the library part and stayed for a significant time. The only other time I went was to take the elevator upstairs lol
Although I'm a European-American, I agree with you on all points. I've been here in Korea since 1995 or so, and it seems the 'home' is getting more and more mean spirited. Korean is a sensible and safe country to live in. I've had a couple of guys confront me and offer violence, but it was only two times in more than 20 years, and neither was dangerous or life-threatening as might have happened back home. The Korean paper just said there's more than a million foreigners here in Korea-- a lot in factories and mining, but still that's a very high level. A strong vote of confidence. It's a good place to be.
Most of the books are fake, just covers. There are more in every Polish school library. I enjoyed the beauty of the place, but there was nowhere to sit. Everyone wanted to take a picture, because this place looks good on camera and on Instagram. But in reality there is nothing to do there. Lots of people, little space. Another nice library is in Suwon. Similar. Lots of covers, a place to take pictures and that's it.
Yeah, it's definitely one of the Instagrammable places in Seoul. If one goes there early, finding seats can be easier, I think lol. A nice place to kill time (I hate this expression), especially if it's cold outside!!
@@francoismarc3 I'm afraid that getting a seat (any seat) in this library is impossible just as finding a free luggage box at Seoul Station 🤣😅 This is already a legend...
Amazing how small it is. A much more interesting attraction is the aquarium with dolphins and sharks swimming overhead, which is located next door. Literally.
I wanted to cover that in a separate video, but you are correct!!:)
new trend started in in America. It came from Korea. So many Americans women are coming to Korea to learn new trend..
Hey there! Which trend? Celebrating Christmas?
Comment for the algorithm
Loooool, thank you so much:)
Dang, that place is incredible... Seems like Christmas is definitely the best time to visit too! (Now you need to go back with your camera!)
You are correct!! I actually brought my camera with me, but no one to take photos of lol. I'll be back, as a certain Terminator is wont to say hahaha
This is why I always take what the media says with a grain of salt. I always rather see things with my own eyes than be dictated by what narratives they make people believe. Glad things are going as is usual. Always be safe brother
so are those books that are really high on those tall bookshelves accessible or just there for decoration?
I think just for show lol. It didn't look like there were ladders around for people to climb up hahahah
This type of Mongolian wrestling is called Bokh
It’s the small, simple things that add value to our lives. So nice to see you appreciating a lot of things that bring a smile to your face, Francois ✌🏻

Hey, thank you so much for watching and enjoying my content! I'm always doing my best to smile, even though it isn't easy, I think, for me, it's the best way to live!!:) Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!!!:)
Brother, even though I love living in Korea, especially in Seoul, watching this video today brings back so many wonderful past memories of Christmas in the U.S. growing up. A celebration of joy and togetherness with families coming together, sharing delicious meals, exchanging festive gifts beneath twinkling lights, visiting local malls in Buckhead in Atlanta, listening to Christmas carols, etc. I still could never forget the excitement and joy of opening my Christmas gifts on Christmas day when I was a young boy. As a matter of fact, I could not sleep before Christmas thinking about the gifts that I was about to get. I love the Christmas holiday in the U.S. and the traditions!!! So many great memories. I am sure you know what I am talking about Francois you as an American grown up there. It is just not the same here in Korea!!! As always, peace brother, and I wish you a joyful trip today wherever you may be visiting!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! See you~~
You are correct, brother! So many memories of not wanting to go to sleep Christmas Eve night, but at the same time, wanting to sleep because I knew what would await in the morning! It's not the same here, but I think we have a wonderful occasion to make that reality happen! We can start, or restart those traditions with the families we start! Maybe I will be able to share these traditions with a new family, hopefully:) But brother, at least we have the memories!!! Let's enjoy them while we have them! We aren't getting any younger!! Happy holidays, brother!!! Thanks always for your support!!!
Well said brother~^^@@francoismarc3
This place is so beautiful, I was here in December 2023 , I was amazed
I can't believe I've missed it! I'm sure I was as amazed as you!!

Hey! Merry Christmas! I'll be sure to capture that event on video next time! Thank you for letting me know that it takes place at that time! I won't miss it!!:):)

It's a magical place for some reason!! Who is Todd Howard?? Lol
잘봤습니다~~!!
Thank you for watching! :) Happy Holidays!!!
Wow, I can't believe I have lived in Korea for 14 years and never spent significant time here at Starfield Library! During the Christmas season, the lights were so nice! Is this a place you would like to visit on your trip to Seoul? I think it's worth a visit!
I am returning to Korea to learn this trend lol
Thank you your commentI wasn’t expected that you comment . I am not a big trend follower . But this new trend started in America . I thought it was joke
\I need research for more information about new trend how it started and what is the point of new trend They say that Korean women who is in 아줌마 group Do you know what is a 아줌마?
@@francoismarc3 ㅕI hope I am not wasting your time and I am not offending entire 아줌마 population in Korea lol …아줌마 is who is married.and their they are age is from the late 20 t and all the women who is not grandam. 아줌마who is married and who is not grandchildren yet and women who is if your want to see 아줌마,get super mad and going to crazy and then call her 아줌마,
@@francoismarc3 I am sorry if I can keep writing or reason I send you this I thought that it was a funnily. Korean women who is 아줌마 if others people called them 아줌마 they will go crazy because of their family.. They have no sense of fashiona st-tong person;tywhat is the reason Sometimes they are loud so they’re welcome by their own few,ly And they said this new fashion trend is 아줌마 I am super sorry hope you would understand it
you haven't mentioned ducking around people taking selfies in front on x-mas decorations
Hahahah it's become the norm here I don't even pay attention to it anymore lol
Wow... actually Itaewon is the worst place to live in Seoul hahaha.... Very dirty... I will try Insadong or Yeongsan.
you are doing great. keep making good content
Thank you so much for the support! It means a lot to me! I'll keep going!!:)

That’s a beautiful hike. The stairs scare me a bit lol 😆
The interwebs is a dangerous place when it comes to negative people and scammers. Sorry that you have experienced death threats. It seems to me that you fit in well with South Korean culture despite the homogenous nature of the society.
You are not lying!! The threats were more irritating than scary, but still, there could be some validity to them, if you know what I mean... I do think I fit in well enough here for a foreigner!
bro i life in mongolia😂😂
I think you might already know the main thing I heard in this video... I'm so curious as to what camera you were trying to pick up or did pick up?
A7r5 lol! It's a monster of a camera, but I don't need it. Just wanted it. Luckily I was able to return it and then lens at a 100usd loss. Just a dumb decision...lol
@francoismarc3 well, a $100 rental fee to play with it and know you don't need that camera isn't a bad deal
You look nothing like Johnny Somali.
As long as you don't act up like Johnny Somali ... you'll do just fine. Just take some deep breaths, and carry on with your day.
I would never in a million years resort to his antics...And yes, a deep breath and then carry on:) Thanks for your kidness:)
glad to see your beautiful smile back on your face

1. President Yoon Suk Yeol abruptly declared martial law. 2. He attempted to take the National Assembly and the largest media corporation with his military. 3. Yoon Suk Yeol has made excuses for fraudulent elections and communist spies (an excuse underlying the regime preservation of any dictatorship in the world), but has yet to produce any evidence, and Korea's electoral system has proven impossible to conduct fraudulent elections because of CCTV in its closed network 4. That won't happen, but even if a rigged election is true with a 0.1 percent chance, it is also a reason for him to be impeached by martial law to suppress civil lives and freedoms even though he can investigate it through legal procedures Impeachment is not a fight between left and right, but a fight between common sense vs. unconventional. When the road is tilted, neutral gear will overturn the car. Literally, we almost became North Korea
