I absolutely love street food in Seoul, or Korea for the matter! One of, if not the best place to get street food in Seoul is hands down Myeongdeong. What did you think of all the food? Which combination would you try if you were there?!
I recommend that you visit Seoulworldcup stadium this Saturday because Koreancup final match Pohang steelers vs Ulsan Hyundai will be hosted in Seoul worldcup stadium at 15:00 on 30th November(this Saturday).
Hi, Francois!! Another great video!! As you may know, Myeongdeong in Seoul is arguably the most famous shopping and fashion mecca district in South Korea but it is also known for the amazing street food for food lovers as we saw in your video. It looks amazing. However, It was not like this when I went there for the first time in the summer of 1989. I know it was very long ago but I could still remember like yesterday. There were mostly shops and restaurants with few street vendors selling all kinds of stuff on the street but not a lot of food. Your video brought back many wonderful past memories and I thank you!! It also brought back wonderful memories of my lovely girlfriend, spending an amazing time with her on Christmas Eve in 1990 in Myeongdeong. It was a magical time for both of us. I remember it was snowing at the time and the place was filled with beautiful Christmas decorations with lots of Christmas carols playing everywhere. It was so beautiful and the snowfall made the whole experience so mesmerizing. I know I may sound old and it sounds like I am looking for ways to escape the present but I really miss the old days when things were simpler and happier and better. I am one of those people who believes the past seems better than the present even though our civilization has much advanced with technology and standard of living. I do not know if you are old enough to relate to what I am saying but I tend to recall the past more fondly than the present. For some reason, your video today took me on a past memory lane and it brought up the concept of nostalgia. BTW, I grew up in the eighties in the States and I have to tell you it was a magical at the time in the U.S., to say the least. Again, life was so much simpler and better without all this disruptive and dependent/addictive technology. I really miss the simple and real human connections. I really miss the old music and the Christmas holidays too. The eighties had the best music by far in my opinion. Things are just not the same anymore!! Do you miss the old days too Francois or are you happy with the present time? I know you are at least ten years younger than me but I know you know what I am talking about. I am sure your parents or older people around you may have said something similar to what I have said here. As always, peace brother, and may God bless you wherever you are!! Bye~~
Hey, thanks so much for sharing your story with me! I do miss the old days: especially the 90's and 2000's:( I think those were the best years for me growing up:) Now, your message is making me reminisce as well...lol Thanks again for sharing your life with me! Take care and be blessed too, brother!!!
Go to watch 'Gwangju FC vs Shanghai Sunhwa' in Gwangju worldcup stadium at 19:00 on 27th November(this Wednesday) or 'Pohang steelers vs Ulsan Hyundai' in Seoul worldcup stadium at 15:00 on 30th November(this Saturday).
I don't disagree but at the same time, this is supposed to be a happy moment in time so let's try to not think too much about that... "gentleman" (and I use that word with much more sarcasm then I can express with my keyboard) unless we're performing a banishment ritual. Though not going to lie, my first thoughts when I saw the 7-11 in the background was "oh God, is it THAT one?"
Aw love this. All the lovely yummy foods. I had to steal away from spicy food. What would you recommend for someone who can’t eat spicy foods. Thank you.
Hmmm, I recommend the beef I ate, odang, and the japchae! You can't go wrong with any of those foods!!! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!:)
불닭 are those famous spicy fire noodles sauce, so you should careful lmao. I miss myeongdong as a Korean living in Canada. Thanks for sharing the vlogs! FYI: In Seoul there are huge president resign protests happening every Saturday like the last one starting from Gwanghwamun Square to myeongdong.
@francoismarc3 I don't wanna get political, but it might be an interesting content if u go to film the protest on Saturday! Like we really have the worst president right now compared to Park back in 2017. Literally all of the uni students, profs, parents, workers&farmers are gathering up again .
@francoismarc3 It's legal to film it and super peaceful protests. I'm not telling u to join it ofc just a recommendation xD ruclips.net/user/livefgyczxKc6ec?feature=shared
I never tried 꼬치. Only 어묵 just one time. Street food vendor, what I am think is even 2 decades ago those streets were clean and calm. But now, it becomes too busy area.
Francois do you just not like pork? From videos I don't think the candied fruit are that hard. Apparently it is yummy because they use high quality fruit. You are so lucky to get fresh sikye. I bought the ingredients to make it, but it is a lot of work to make.
I just don't like pork; nothing religious or anything:) The candy fruit looks good, but I have to protect my teeth from sugar, especially as I get older lol. Oh, is it difficult to make Sikhye??
@@francoismarc3 My Mom taught me to dislike pork. Plus in North America it's not super popular. Then I later realized that most of the world eats pork more than beef or chicken. I realized over time that it is quite versatile, has a lower carbon footprint than beef, and can taste great. If you eat bacon or sausages you are likely already eating pork. I realized I was limiting myself. There are so many great pork dishes in Korea. You do you, but it's something to think about :).
@@francoismarc3 No worries Francois!! As you may know, you having lived in Korea for over 14 years, not all but many Korean people really don't like Japanese or Chinese people for their long bitter historical rivals and geopolitical reasons. I noticed older Koreans hate the Japanese people more and the younger ones hate Chinese more. It is a shameful and sad situation because East Asians particularly the Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans share so many great cultural aspects with each other like languages, food, ethnic roots, and much more but they just can't seem to get along. I think just because there is no place to sit I might avoid the place entirely or visit when it is super early with less people.
Go to Seoul worldcup stadium to watch Korea finalcup Pohang steelers vs Ulsan Hyundai at 15:00 on 30th November. This Saturday.
Becareful if it's selling by Chinese though..
@Tiana888 Yeah! No place to sit so it could be inconvenient, but the vibe is crazy!!
@heavenhaven7254 oh, are there Chinese merchants there? What happened if I buy something from a Chinese merchant?

Hey, thanks so very much!:)
It’s now 5:00 a.m. here, and I’m salivating after having watched your video. I applaud your choices of the beef and the crepe - yum, yum!
