    Where is the nitrogen leaking out over time? The cap or the IFP

    • @d3offroad
      @d3offroad 2 дня назад

      If it’s leaking out of the shock it’s the cap o ring or the fill port, if the IFP is leaking then the pressure is getting into the oil and shock body

    So its just high speed compression adjustment only? Do you bother to put a vacuum on it before filling with Nitrogen?

      It is low speed compression adjustment only, and on these small shocks I don’t vacuum them

    Great video! Interesting how they use the tender spring for small bump compliance and once the isolator is engaged the main spring serves to "ramp up" the travel to avoid harsh bottom out. I appreciate you sharing the math numbers - definitely helped with my understanding. I come from the mountain bike world so understand coil shocks in that capacity. Learning the SXS stuff. If you ever sell your KRX can I get first dibbs? LoL. So nice!

    Any recommendations for what would cause the front end clunking when hitting choppy potholes only? This is on a 2024 RZR XP. I have been trying to adjust preload with no success. I currently have my tenders in the front tightened closer together from stock thinking that giving my main spring more travel would soften the potholes. I'm not a small fella and always carry a passenger with some weight in the back also. Maybe I need to open up the tender more? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and great video.

We used On X Off-road for mapping. It provides several viewing options including a 3D view. Would love to know the full path you took, trail tp trail. What considerations need to be made for driver and passenger weight. and rear cargo weight? Really appreciate the videos!

    • @d3offroad
      @d3offroad Месяц назад

      You will want to setup your preload and spring rate according for all of that weight so if you have springs on your car and you know their weights measure their length with people in the car and gear loaded up to see if you get the desired ride height that 1-2” of preload. If you need to run 3-5” of preload with that weight added you need new springs

    So if a person was only rock crawling/slow technical trail riding would you want taller and softer springs??? Very interesting video I like how y’all post this kinda stuff!!

    • @d3offroad
      @d3offroad Месяц назад

      Personally no, I would still want correct length and rate because when you go taller softer spring you need to add more preload to achieve the same ride height… springs are not intended for a soft flexy feeling that is achieved with valving the springs job is to support the weight above it without to much preload

    Astonishingly informative! Thanks for the education! But I have a question: I now know the importance of the nitrogen pressure but does nitrogen volume come into play in any way? For instance, there are extended "High Volume" reservoir caps on the market for x3s. Thanks!

    • @d3offroad
      @d3offroad Месяц назад

      Volume does come into play more so on smaller resi shocks the x3 has massive resi and it’s also more important in say desert racing for long periods of time where you can get shock pump from pressure rising due to heat, for the average rider who takes breaks to hang out every hour it is not really needed the shocks always cool off

    Sometimes the background music becomes too much. But, otherwise, great content. Seems like more and more folks are running those amazon mirrors..They change names now and again but, great for the money. And if you trash them (hard to do)...you can replace them for next to nothing. Here in the eastern US woods, that's key, as these woods are tight, and everywhere. Great that you two are a love-bonded team, off-road. I think it's the key to a lasting relationship. My wife and I started this stuff all the way back at the ATC 3 wheelers...yep, we're now old. We've gone from 250R racers to the Rmax and KRX trail. Just recently ran that Rmax off a switchback in Appalachia...time for shoulder and elbow repair, but, do you think I'm done?...nah. My wife chomps at the bit to get out here. Loves the off-road as much as I do, and so I expect that as long as fate supports it, we will be out here well into our 80's. This KRX suspension more than guarantees it! Keep being your team, and keep sharing the experience. We live in a perfect age, where comfort/technology and rough-hewn, gel, for the ultimate life! Enjoy every minute! You folks are fun!
