    Works perfect installed it in 2021. In our Krx. I have installed 20+ 8 Auxbeams under the hoods or under the dash in utvs. Your location is a great option. Next one I will install into the fuse box. I run all the wiring even if the don't have all there accessories for the auxbeam. Most now know what they want and are ready for accessories in 2024. You both are awesome. Great videos.

    Been rockin' my RGB Auxbeam for over a year now and it's been great. I mounted the fuse box behind the center console on some tabs I made right beside the glovebox and mounted the 8 button ... buttons to the roll bar above the windshield.

    Another great video! I've been using it for over a year now. FYI,,, 2 relays are 30 amp the rest are 20 amp, you would have to change out the fuse to the size you want. You'd have to be careful of not exceeding 60amps total. Great job guys!

      I've been searching for an answer that nobody seems to be asking the question for - Do I "NEED" to follow the Auxbeam recommendations for circuit loading? (i.e. is the control module limited to the circuit load ratings by design? (30a, 20a, 10a, etc?)) Or can I just switch around the fuses to make circuit the amperage different on other buttons, providing I don't exceed the maximum amperage rating of the box (or 30 amps per circuit)?
      (9:00) I think I have my answer here, but I'm going to ask the community anyway.
      My box has two (in amps) 30s, two 20s, two 10s, and two 5s in descending order from top left to bottom right (8 gang), but for the purpose of mapping switches out on the panel, I want to put things in different places, like a bigger load towards the bottom right of my panel. I'm just worried the internal solid-state relays might be rated for the ratings listed on the module, and no documentation seems to mention this limitation.
      Your comment seems to give me a glimmer of hope, but I have no idea how solid-state relays work. Would almost prefer the mechanical relays and just switch around the ones I wanted, but here we are. Also, I bought a smaller 6-gang Auxbeam panel with mechanical relays and all of them were 30-amp relays despite the fuses varying from 30a to 5a, which makes me think the solid-state relays might also be rated to 30amps...but I'd never bet on an assumption like that.
      I'm hoping someone out here has an answer to this. As an auto electrical guy, I wouldn't even think of overloading a circuit beyond it's rating, but I reeeeallly want to put the circuits in different places, so I'm kinda stuck at the moment.
      Thanks for any help from anybody, and great video guys. I was only able to breeze through it on my quest for answers but it was solid. Liked & subbed.

    I hear you about the no-reverse lights deal. I mean really, these things are pretty much the size of an automobile, and I can't count how many times people have just started backing up in front of me with no warning. There should be a factory switch on the trans to activate them.

  • @Springerr
    @Springerr 7 месяцев назад +1

    Regarding swapping out the fises for larger ones the only thing you need to worry about is pulling too many amps overall to overload the circuit breaker. If i recall correctly when i installed mine i noticed that all the amps from the fuses combined equaled its max amperage rating. So as long as you dont run everything all at once on higher amp fuses you should be fine

    • @d3offroad
      @d3offroad  7 месяцев назад

      Yup especially if you run everything at once! Which usually isn’t the case but if you did the main breaker would trip for sure it’s the safety

    So on mine number 4 is a 5 amp fuse, can i run a light bar on number four and just put a 25 amp fuse in? or do I have to go to the 30 amp socket?

    • @d3offroad

      You can put a 30amp fuse in that location but need to put a 5amp in one of the other 30s than, you can’t increase the total but you can move them around if needed

    • @d3offroad
      @d3offroad  8 месяцев назад +1

      We cut apart the harness and decided to only use the spot light. We got rid of that button entirely. Now if you were wanting to use both options, what we did in the rear with the flashing amber, is we wired each wire for each option to separate buttons. Does this help?

    • @n2sport1
      @n2sport1 8 месяцев назад

      @@d3offroad It does help thank you. I have a RGB auxbeam light bar that I tried that with that had spot and then a different area that a controller would change colors. I tried running it to 2 different switches and it didn't like it.

      @@n2sport1 Hi. I'm in a similar situation. I have a multi-mode Auxbeam LED light bar that I want to install using the RGB 8 gang switch panel. I know you said you didn't like it, but did it work? Were you able to cycle through the modes in your light bar? The other question is does the switch panel eliminate the need for the factory relay(s)?

    Love the video, because let's face it, electrical sucks And if you're not laughing, you're miserable. Couple of things for you. Yes, the fuses are interchangeable . What you need to know when you make a circuit is the amperage draw ir the wattage of what you're applying to a circuit. Lights pretty much all tell you what their wattage is. So if you have a 240 watt light bar, you're going to want a 25 Amp circuit. Ohm's law helps. P = E x I or wattage equals voltage times amperage. 240 = 12 x 20 The reason you want slightly higher fuse (25 in this case) is to allow for surge and fuse wear The other thing I would have done with your build is add a mini ANL in line fuse from the battery to the relay to protect the entire circuit to the block. Also, look at some of the tilt forward options for your seat. Allows for easy removal and will raise Mel up about an inch and a half, which will help with her ability to reach and her visibility. Plus, it will be far easier to get to the fuse block if you need to.
