I have one like yours and it started messing up, so i contacted Auxbeam and they sent a complete system replacement. great customer service. you will be happy.
The switch panel I went with was AW Direct code 3 6 switch panel. Main reason is I drove wrecker for a very long time and I’ve never had an issue with them in our fleet. I’m loyal to what works. Not saying there’s anything wrong with other stuff. I just like AW Direct for recovery gear and electronics
For those wondering about lights that have multiple modes (white, amber, strobe) You can 100% wire it up to work but it takes the space of another button (switch/unit/gang) all you have to do is wire up the lights to one gang like normal then wire the yellow wire to another gang (that’s negative daisy chained to the first) and switch the second (yellow wire gang) it on and off to switch modes. I just tried it with a rocker switch and it works. The power from the “yellow wire” to a rocker switch switches modes but you then have to switch it on then off or it will revert back to solid white. It tricks the first switch into mode selection. But you have to switch it back off once the desired mode is achieved or it will revert back to solid white (first setting).
AuxBeam has instructions on making custom labels on their website. Second, I add shore power plugs to my vehicles, and wire a fixed mount trickle charger, and since I’m in cold country, I wire in the block heater, glue on heater pads for the transmission and transfer case, and on my diesel the fuel tank, through a on at 32F, off at 35F thermal switch. Batteries are always topped off, and rigs are ready to fire up even when it hits -30F.
I have an OCD level collection of electric connectors, from ferrules, to weather pack and molex plugs along with a variety of different gauges/colors of wires, marine crimp connectors, hundreds of feet of different sizes and types of heat shrink, an ever growing collection of wire looms and all the tools to pin/plug/crimp/solder and test it. I don’t do a ton of wiring but I just can’t make myself do anything without doing it “right”!
Just bought the BA80 version…. Basically the same but cheaper from AuxBeam. Didnt realize I wasn’t buying this one until I received it. Paid $130 for it but not as many features. Struggling to find a place under the hood of my TJ to mount the box tho. It’s tight in there…
@@DownSouth_Adventures Awesome. Good to know. Lighting is on the list for the build. It’s definitely a process getting everything setup in your rig. Still have more to go but I have only had the Red Beast Wagon for a couple of months. Coming up next in a few weeks (waiting for mfg and shipping) I will be installing some frame mounted White Knuckle Offroad rock sliders on the Beast. Those will be awesome and will definitely support the weight of the truck. Each slider weighs in at 150+ lbs using 1/4” structural tubing (2x4 and 2x2), 1/2” plate and 3/16” outer tubing. Also, about to get all of my camping gear acquired for this first phase and then go out for some off the grid camping while offroading.
Very nice. Mine MLS-6. One thing mine has cut off button on side kills power but price way cheaper than I paid looks killer were you located switch panel not as bulky as mine . Great choice!
I use to have the same Rubicon Copperhead Pearl color, Best color Jeep ever made! Do you just cut off the Rigid factory relay on the factory harness of the Rigid pod lights? Thanks
Few questions for you. 1.) what brand roof lightbar is that? I like how it switches from white to yellow 2.) How did you wire the lightbar to the Auxbeam so that you can use 2 of the switches, one for white and one for yellow? I would assume that the lightbar originally came with its own rocker switch for white & yellow. So how did it get wired to Auxbeam? I want to do the same but not sure how to wire it. Appreciate your videos.
To answer the first question it is the rough country black series and I absolutely love this light bar. I just wired the light bar to two separate switches on the switch pod.
Maybe but I picked up the nilight one for $120. It looks identical accept I can't change the light from my favorite color to something else. If it goes out I might buy auxbeam. I carry a spare rocker panel just in case
Would you be able to explain why some panels boxes have individual relays and some (like yours) don’t? This is something that is bothering me whilst looking for the right panel for myself.
This one mounted by your battery as well, but I didn’t want it there, because all of my wires were already ran to the driver side from a previous switch.
You can’t because each one has an specific relay behind. Changing might work for a while but later you will blow the whole fuse box and eventually melt it. Hope it helps as I had same question before buying the set
Im looking for one that has no constant power because for my flood lights I’ll need to add a relay because it’s amber and white led. I saw you just plugged them on a different circuit. Let me know if I’m wrong bro
You pay for the quality of the internals.....I had a bad experience with the first heap switch I bought and don't want to go through that again so I think the cost is justified
@@DownSouth_Adventures I purchased the like $300 Bluetooth 8 Gang model, it's definitely nice. but I feel like it should cost maybe $125. It's just a relay fuse box, a switch panel, a fuse that you can buy for $6 and some wiring.
I freaking love it, it operates flawlessly and my wife likes it more than her spod that costs twice the price. AR-800 RGB SWITCH PANEL WITH APP, TOGGLE/ MOMENTARY/ PULSED MODE SUPPORTED Sku: QP008526
isn't "Pulsed" a strobe effect? "Toggle" should be ON/OFF, and "Momentary" should be as you push the button, it comes on and as soon as you release your finger, it turns off, like your steering wheel horn...
so where are the relays? are they inbetween this and the lights? the one auxbeam in the big box has removeable relays like my voswitch in my JT, but I want to get one for the RZR because polaris bus bars in a stupid spot
@DownSouthOffRoadandOutdoor I found out online they have some sort of solid state relays built into the board of this. Ans then found out why there's a version 2x the price, it's because it's bluetooth to your phone thst can be the switch as well
Does the switch panel high light turn off when you not turn it on because mine I hooked up directly to battery instead of the ACC or Cigaret charger and the switch panel still has light when I turn off engine, is it how it is? I know sounds confusing

That’s good to know for sure!
I've got a Voswitch in my JK for about 4 years now and I've taken my JK thru some deep water and it's still going strong.
That’s great I wish mine would’ve held up but it only made it one trip through Windrock park.

Nice I’ve never heard of that brand but it’s awesome to hear that they have a long-standing industrial use !

@@DownSouth_Adventures thank you for the reply.
Good work on the wires, what are those ends he crimped on called?
Those are called ferrule connectors. Thanks for watching.
Does the panel stay on? Would you need a relay or other component to keep it off when the vehicle is off?
I wired mine to be off when the vehicle is off.

Can you change the location which button controls which light?
It can be whichever button pin you have the wire wired to so yep!
Why not just use the Voswitch bracket?
Because it’s doesn’t match up
Can you change the buttons to momentary?
Yes on the app you can

Pretty sure they have solid state relays.
Can one of the switches be used in lieu of your push start button?
Oooo that’s a tough one! I would email them for that one…
Hi did u ever find out if u can use as a push start button??
how thick is the fuse block when the lid is on it?
Probably 2 inches or less
Was the Auxbeam kit ordered for a Jeep??!!??
Yes this was for a jeep.
Are you able to make any of those switches momentary. If I want to use it for a horn or to activate a starter relay?
Yes you can
Thinking about getting their switch panel. After 8mo, how do you like it? I am currently running a VOSwitch.
I love it! No issues at all and you don’t have to worry about rocker switches breaking!
@Down South Off-Road and Outdoor thanks for the update. They are running a Father's Day sale this weekend. Thinking about getting it.
Should have got swutch pros. Better product and it mount over by your battery.

Switch pro is over priced
Any time you are entering the water, going thru water, any switching system must be submersible to at least 1 meter [3.3 ft].
Yep!
can you replace the 5 amp fuse with a 20 amp fuse? Or, are those fuse positions on the board specific to the amperage ?
I wish I knew the answer to that Tracy but unfortunately I don’t.
