I purchased the Auxbeam 8 panel for mainly my rock lights but I put pod lights on my bumper and have them on a relay and have them wired to my reverse and also on a rocker switch to have them come on when I hook a trailer or boat at night. How can I put them on the Auxbeam and still have the pod lights wired for reverse and on the rocker switch?

I am using this system currently in my 2016 Jeep Wrangler JKU.This unit is definitely a stand-out kit in terms of ease of use and installation, its diminutive form factor and lite weight durability, quality of components and its logical layout leaves me longing for nothing at all. I am very satisfied with this product. Oh yeah, it's affordable too.
Wait a minute, do you work for Auxbeam? I'm only kidding, I happen to agree with you. For the price it really is a solid, capable unit for what I need it for. Thanks for your comment
For someone that doesn’t mess with electrical thanks for making it so easy to follow along !! Just to clear it up - you just keep the positive and negative for light and get rid of the relay and switch that comes with it !?
Thanks
That's correct. I have a few other videos of actual switch panel installs accommodating different light setups in both our 4Runner and Tacoma where you can see exactly how I did it. Thanks for watching!
Good to see you try the Auxbeam I have been using mine for about a year and 3 months and it has been perfect! Fit my needs without the heavy price of the popular brands. Recently got done wiring mine so that it can have constant power and ACC power so at camp I can run lighting etc without the ignition on and I love it even more now.
That is a great idea. Are you running 2 batteries? I agree, for about $135 you get a LOT. I didn't want to spend $600 for a Switch Pros and still need to buy other additions.
@@AZOverland2017 I am not currently but only running a couple of low draw devices and have a Noco for oopsie backup if I kill it lol

When you said gets rid of need for external mounted relay, I started edging.
first off awesome explanation! I just purchased this kit for my 21 tacoma just waiting to get my truck back from bodyshop so i can install. I pre-setup all my circuits with deutsch connectors so it will be drop in ready and plug and play, it seems like a quality panel and has pretty good reviews. I don't know if this helps or is completely true but from what i've read circuits 1-2 are double relayed 30 amp max load the rest are single relay set at 20 amps max and the fuses can be changed out for different sizes to match components as long as the total doesn't overload the breaker 60 amp.
Thank you. I didn't hear that about the 30 A circuit but the rest of what you wrote is my understanding as well. I would certainly confirm with Auxbeam if you decide to move fuses around as they have come out with different Panel versions over the years
Very straightforward and easy to understand especially when referencing the wiring diagram. Thanks.

Very good tutorial. Very clean, very informative, very clear speech amd instructions. Thank you!
I appreciate your feedback!
Make sure you use both the - negative and + positive to each item. if you ground an item to the chassis and just run + wire it will cause issues when engine running. Lights especially will flicker. I had this issue, led light worked fine when using just a switch. but when using the Auxbeam system I had to use both - and + leads to each item.
Thanks!

Can you help me to clear out something please?
I have a Long bar Rigid lights with it's own relay. So 2 cables comes out of it first has +/- to the battery, and the second has 3 wires was attached to their factory switch. So what i do now? :)
The only wires you need are the + and - (black and red or in some cases black and white). You are cutting out the relay and the switch that comes with the light. You + and - will attach directly to the Control Box. That Control Box has built in relays that replace the relay you cut out. The switch panel that comes with the Auxbeam that you mount in the vehicle control everything.
Great video. I’m trying to connect the rock shock edge 6led off road harness to my auxbeam panel. I have the amber and low beams wire and they work but when I hit the high beams it pops fuse. I left the relay on and only cut off there rocker as it won’t fit in my vehicle. Thanks for the help
Thanks for the clear instructions..im wiring this to an Auxilary battery..can i wire the red trigger wire to a on/off switch directly to the POS & NEG that powers the unit ? So i can switch unit on/off independantly of the main starter battery. I have a pic but cant add to comments

Ok just sent email
Fantastic video.
I have a question. I have 7 Auxbeam 7" 180w driving lights. Can i put them all in one 30amp circuit?
You wouldn't be able to do that, the amp draw will be too much. Double check the specs on your lights and see if they give the actual amp draw. I believe the 180w would be per pair, which would be about a 15 amp draw per pair. So, 4 lights alone would take up a 30 amp circuit. But please, check these numbers with Auxbeam or the manual that came with the lights.
Another great video AZ! Thank you for the detailed explanation. Quick Question, where are you going to be keeping the panel? Are you thinking about sticking it somewhere on your driver panel?
Thanks! I haven't quite decided yet. I'm thinking on the left side dash by the other switches, but I'm not 100% committed to that yet.
thank you!
ACC wire doesn't look long enough to run from the panel to the ACC fuse in the cab..
It's not and will need to be extended if running to the cab. Ideally you can find something under the hood but extending the wire is not a big deal
Great job Sir
Thanks!
Yes, I have one, but now need to add an extra switch to power the panel as I am using this in our camping trailer, for all the lights and power.
Great video and helpful thanks
Thank you!
Can you twist both wires together so when you hit one button both lights come on at the same time? Thanks
Yes, exactly. Check out the video I did when I installed the ditch lights in the 4Runner.
Quick questions I hope you can answer 😅 any advice appreciated
Am I good to hook up below accessories to the following auxbeam switch panel fuses
KC pro6 7 light to bar to 20a fuse ?
Per KC light bar draws 11.41 amps
Pair of Flex era 4 pods to 20a fuse ?
Per KC each light draws 6.7amps
KC chase bar to 5a fuse ?
Per KC it draws 5amps
Last but not least 😅 bought 8 5150 gen 2 rock lights which don’t say watts or amps drawn, comparing to other rock light specs 8 pods should be good under one 5a fuse ? 😅
I'll answer this the best I can but I would recommend reaching out to Auxbeam customer service for definitive answers.
My understanding is circuits 1-6 are actually capable of handling a 20a circuit, so you can put up to 20a fuses in them. Circuits 7-8 are 30a.
That being said, if you power up multiple devices at the same time you need to be sure you are not pulling more than 60a total. The circuit breaker is also rated at 60a.
If you are connecting 2 lights to 1 circuit, ex. your Pair of Flex era 4 pods and each light draws 6.7amps for a total of 13.4 amps, you would probably switch out the fuse (1-6) to a 15a. I try to use a fuse either at or slightly above the max draw of an accessory.
I try to avoid putting a fuse too high over the max draw as it will not protect the equipment as intended.
Great video! Thank you! Can the controller control the lights with the Auxbeam app when the vehicle is off?
I don't have the app version. But, I suspect if you fuse tap into a "constant on" fuse, that would probably work.
This video was great I’ve installed mine I wish I would’ve seen your video earlier. My question in a semi can I use the power sources next to the main fuse box because the battery are so far and the aux cable isn’t long.
You can fuse tap from other sources if that's what you are referring to. I did a fuse tap video also which may help
Unable to see your power source. I'm new at this - on my GMC Canyon - please suggest the power source to connect
@@JR-pd9xz Check out some of my other videos after this one. I did an actual install of this unit on my 4Runner and I did a fuse tap video. I also did a few videos installing another switch panel (Mictuning) on a Tacoma

@@AZOverland2017 Great!! Thanks for the quick reply.
What about the relays for each circuit? Whay if a relay goes bad can you replace the relay? Or is it junk at that point??
They are sealed in the unit. Non serviceable.
Very nicely done! Liked & Subbed! Question (an uncommon one I am finding): Can you switch around fuses to run higher amperage circuits in different positions than it came from the factory? I want to run some higher draw circuits in the lower positions of the box, (like a 23amp compressor where a 5 amp fuse would be). I am unsure if circuit amperage is limited by the module design (and solid state relays) or if it even matters. I have the RB80XL with solid state relays, but also purchased a 6-gang unit for another vehicle. This box has mechanical relays, and although the fuses range from 30-5 amps, the relays are all 30-amp.
I am an auto electrical guy (for fun) so I understand wiring, but have no working knowledge of solid state relays. Any help from anyone is appreciated, this seems to be a question not commonly asked, and I'm not smart enough to know how else to figure it out lol.
Thanks!
First off, thank you very much for the Sub! Auxbeam has a number of different Switch Panels so I am not familiar with all of them. I believe for your RB80XL, positions 1&2 have 30 a relays and 3-8 have 20 a relays built in. So yes, you can swap fuses but be careful with the amp limitations of 3-8 if indeed what I'm saying is true. Please confirm this with Auxbeam, but I believe this to be the case.
Is there a way to handle lights with multiple settings? Hi/Low/Amber etc?
@@Idagrown Yes. Check out my last video. I show that specifically.
I also did a Rock Light install showing how on another video
Great video
Thank you!
I'm looking at doing this as well. What led you to this unit over the others that are out there? Thanks!
I was going to do a Switch Pros or similar and have (which I purchased already) a separate fuse block and relays. It was still not as clean with the needed relays and very expensive. This cost me only $135. That, to me, is a very reasonable price for everything you get. And, a cleaner install
Looking into buying some harbor frieght roadshock 6 led pods and they have a back light, high, and low beam. I also have a Jeep Gladiator with auxilary switches, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to wire these with break8ng something or catching fire 🤣 any advice?
Very good info
Thanks for watching!
I had another question about changing fuzes. If you want switch #1 to be an accessory with 30 amps however let’s say the circuit box comes with switch #1 being a 10amp fixe could you just switch it out for a 30amp fuze? Or is the relay inside the circuit box only made for that specific amp fuse it came installed with
My understanding from Auxbeam is that you can swap out the fuses as long as the total draw from all accessories doesn't exceed the rating of that particular Control Box. Please do reach out to them as well to confirm that this still holds true as they may have changed things. Many of these companies continue to update parts.
Where can I find a replacement for the circuit breaker ? The one that comes in the clear case ?
You can get them on Amazon like below:
amzn.to/3OGEe4a
If I want to run a fuel pump on here and a remote starter would the switch stay activate for the pump when I engage the remote start? There's no description online as to whether the switches reset to "off" if the ign/acc source is deactivated.
@@sporadicofart The switches DO reset to OFF when the ignition is turned off or key is pulled out
In a dual battery setup (isolated starter battery and second battery for lights, etc.) would you just wire the Auxbeam switch directly to the second battery as opposed to going to the ACC fuse in a single battery setup?
Sorry, I missed this. You can, but there would be power to the Switch Panel at all times; ignition on or off. Some Switch Panels do that but it's up to you. There would obviously be a continual power draw, albeit minimal
If you have a light hooked up and put it on the 5 amp fuse and want to add another one so they both turn on at the same time would you put them on the 10 amp fuse or still keep them on the 5 amp?
10 amp. You need to calculate total amp draw and use a fuse, ideally, that is a bit higher than that total amp draw
Thank you

does it prevent excessive battery draw from accessories
Yes, if it is wired correctly with the fuse tap tied into ACC or ON current draw. I did another video on that

Great video. I recently got 4 RV flood lights for my roof rack and want to wire them all together to one switch but not sure the most effective way to daisy chain the wires together and what amperage spot to put them in.
I have done this with ditch lights. I connected the positives together and negatives together using ferrule crimp connections and inserted them into the corresponding Pos and Neg slots in the Switch Panel. You will need to calculate total amp draw for the 4 lights together to make sure you are ok to do this on a single circuit. Amps = watts / volts. If so, you can wire 2 Pos together into a larger gauge wire and do the same for the other pair. Then insert them in the correct amp circuit. The challenge may be if you can fit 2 larger gauge wires in that circuit.
@@AZOverland2017 Thank you so much for this. That really made it make more sense to me. The lights are only .9 amps per and theres four so a 5a fuse slot should be alright. Does it hurt to put something like that in a 10a spot instead?
I also may split them and do two and two on 5a slots so I can control left and right side of my truck (its for four flood RV lights)
@@hurpaderpp You might get way with a 5 amp for all 4. I ran my ditch lights on a 5 amp and they were rated at 4.6 amp. I was curious to see how it would work. I'm having an issue with the LED panel not turning off even when vehicle is off. Double and triple checked my wiring and even had an accessory light controlled by the panel. No other lighting or connection issues to trace. LED panel stays lit. Any ideas?
You are saying the backlighting for the Switch Panel is lit with the key out of the ignition? If so, did you use a test light to test both sides of the fuse you tapped into?
Which fuse did you tap into? Did you watch the video I used on Fuse taps?
@@AZOverland2017 thank you for replying. I will and watch the fuse taps video you suggest. I didn't run the test light, just tapped on to the radio 30a with the provided fuse tap line that has the 5a that came with the unit. Did you have any issues running the positive and negative cables through the bottom slot on the fuse/relay box? I can't seem to make the positive cable bend from the connection through the bottom slot at such an angle. My only other idea is to run them through the right side and drill a hole through the top cover to fit them.
I'm not sure what you mean. Did you watch the video I did when I actually installed it in the 4 Runner? If not, watch that and see if it doesn't answer your question
If not, let me know
Here: ruclips.net/video/Xag7N0t7wU4/видео.htmlsi=2Kevcb-_boVFKLkv
I figured it out. The red and black cable were having issues bending enough to fit through that slot on the bottom of the control box. I just hooked them up and let them slowly bend enough to make the sharp angle. Ill see the referenced video to see if it addressed that
Can you get that controller box with a 4 button switch
I'm pretty sure the smallest unit they have is a 6 button, but check the website to confirm.
Can you hook up like a fan switch that has high and low
Great question. I haven't done this but I would think the fan has 3 wires coming from it? Low speed power, high speed power, ground. If so, you would need to wire the 2 different speed power wires to 2 separate circuits. So yes, you can operate the fan at different speeds but you would need to switch the current speed OFF then press the next button to change to the desired speed
Do you know if there's a way after you power off the vehicle and then power back on to make one of the switches on automatically.
Not that I'm aware of.
If I had a 3rd item that required 20A, could I replace one of the 10A with a 20A?
According to Auxbeam, yes, as long as you don't exceed the total capable power of the Control Box. Please contact them to confirm that is still the case. These companies update their products often and what held true a year or more ago may be different today.

If you have (2)devices hooked up to this, both with a 30 amp draw, could you still hook up more?
Well, you can but if you are running both of those high draw accessories at the same time I would not switch on the other circuits. Or, if you are running 1 accessory with a high draw and not the other you should be able to switch on other devices as long as you're not exceeding the draw limit.
I would definitely contact Auxbeam to confirm this, they are usually pretty responsive.
What if the light has different modes? Like a spot, flood and a backlight, I think the BD 6 inc lights have this feature and it has 3 wires instead of two
@@tristanvera7943 I just did a video on this. See this link below

how do you close the box after all the wires are connected?
The wires are routed through a long oval opening from the bottom of the box so it doesn't interfere with the cover. I did a few other videos on the actual install. See 1 of them below:

@@AZOverland2017 Awesome.. thank you for replying.
Yea I see that super cheap but what’s dif between the one sided and 2 sided
The 2 sided will have the circuits/fuses on both sides of the Control Box. This is the 1 sided, so all fuses are on the 1 side
@@AZOverland2017 thanks that’s seems pretty self explanatory… but how do they compare? And both come with dif circuit breakers. The one with single I saw a video that it’s better cuz it’s controled with a switch vs a popped fuse for the other one. I ordered both to compare and will be using one for my truck. I don’t plan to submerge with truck but SxS a dif story that’s what it a for so I’m wondering what’s best for my YXZ1000r SxS
@@jesseserna4490 Honestly, I'm not seeing the difference between the 2 other than the layout of the circuits. They connect and operate the same way from everything I read and looked at.
How do you wire both Ditch lights together so it's one button
I did a video on how to do this here:
ruclips.net/video/ikamIEXh9qE/видео.html
Ment to say how do you wire both Ditch lights to the 8 Gang Switch Panel with out having to buy a wiring harness
@@anthonyvaldez1052 Every Ditch light kit kit I've seen comes with all the wiring including relay and switch. What I did for both the 4Runner and Tacoma installs is simply cut the relay and switch out and use the existing wires to run directly to the control box of the Switch Panel. No need to buy anything else.
Hi so it's been a year now since you posted this video. I'm interested in punching one however there are many reviews out there that are negative as pertains to malfunctions and warrenty issues, so since your install how has this product held up to the hype?
Zero issues to date. I suspect a lot of negative reviews are due to Installer error
Yes, every product will have failures, but I have not experienced that. I think Auxbeam continues to update their products. There are other similar products out there in the same price range with similar capabilities that work well as well. I installed the Mictuming Panel in the Tacoma and it also has not had any issues
thank you @@AZOverland2017
yes I noticed but I was looking at the Yota Xpedation switch panel and they actually have everything I need to install, which includes the mounting brackets for $330
@@spud6603 There are a lot of good ones out there. Go with what you are comfortable with and you will be happy with.
Thank You, Yea I'm Leaning Towards Them Primarily Because The Kit Is Made Specifically For My 4Runner. But Thank You Again And I'm Happy I Came Across Your Video Because I'm Getting Ready To Install My Morimoto Ditch Lights And Raptor Lights Once The Weather Breaks And I Didn't Want To Deal With All The Soldering And Wire Cramping. @@@AZOverland2017
Could I put 30 amp fuses in all of the slots?
That wouldn't be a good idea. The Control Box is only capable of handling so much current. If you are operating 2-3 30 A circuits simultaneously it could be overloaded. Check with Auxbeam to confirm, but it sounds like a Switch Pros or similar would be better suited for your needs
Is the back lighting supposed to stay on all the time? I don't want it to, but it doesn't turn off, I have the red wire connected to the dome fuse and back lighting stays on all the time which I imagine will eventually kill the battery , how do it turn it completely off?
Just find another fuse. Try to tap into the headlights.
@@AZOverland2017 washer fluid one worked lol stays off when tacoma is off and turn on with vehicle but it's a 20 Amp fuse, (not sure if thats safe or not?)
I had to stick a wire in it directly old school style, the add fuse ones they sent me won't fit.
@@r6realtor Ha, glad you got it working. Definitely get an add a fuse in there. You need to have the separate circuits fused correctly
@@AZOverland2017 will do appreciate the help! The one they sent was to big but it was a double fuse style one, stick it in and add 2 fuses if it was the right sized one?
Like do I just put two 5amp fuses in there?? Even though let's say I'm sticking it into a 20amp fuse? I guess the slots are confusing me and does it really matter what slot I stick it in amps wise? Like it's ok to put the add a fuse in a 20amp spot but then stick a 5amp in the adda fuse to protect the auxbeam controller, I guess is how it works?
@@r6realtor Use the amperage fuse that they had preinstalled as is. This protects the controller. The fuse you took out needs to go in to the empty slot in the add a fuse so that whatever you tapped into is protected as it was from the factory
Ever have an issue regarding the control box not communicating with the 4 pin connector?
I just recently purchased this unit . Have it installed correctly but can not get power to the switch panel. I have power going into the control box. But it ends there.
I haven't. Try using a multimeter or test light to confirm you have power going to the switch panel. When you turn the key on there is no backlight?
Yeah I have power going into the circuit control box however it’s not communicating with the switch panel correctly. The 4 pin connector has a faint “glow” on the tester. But I have to hold it on for a short time for the “glow” to show itself. If that makes sense.
I was just curious if you ever had this issue and if you knew of a remedy. I’ve reached out to Auxbeam in two separate emails. No response yet .
