We are here to explore Off-Roading, 4WD, Overlanding, camping, etc. together. I have worked on cars my whole life and have built many cars for drag racing, so I want to see how my knowledge crosses over into this fairly new world to me. Auto Body paint and dent repair, mechanics, and engine building was what I did for many years. I am here to learn and grow as I modify my 4Runner to make it capable to do all of this and still remain a Daily Driver. I'll also put out some How-to and DIY home and car projects along the way. Let's go...

So can this be wired to an acc wire? Guessing it would need a larger gauge
Yes and No. I did a video explaing how I did it here: ruclips.net/video/qyOkrW4P5qk/видео.html
Impressive
@@TKEYLER Thanks
Roadshock edge lights have a high and low and cannot be on at the same time, any suggestions using the aux beam switch panel?
Aren't you able to wire it up like I did in the video and operate them independently on separate buttons
I am sure someone has asked will this work in a Polaris SxS? Being we get water and dust
Also for on/off with ignition you show a fuse of some sort. Do you plug that into the fuse panel if extra space so when you turn the ignition on it’s powered and powers down when off? If not how else can I wire this? I am not into electrical stuff sorry..
They sell the Panels with an optional silicone cover: amzn.to/3ZXRiro or you can by a silicone cover separately as well
@@RazorTrailRiders-jn1wq I did a video that will answer all your questions. See below. If you want even more info, I did a few other videos of installing this on a 4Runner and a different Switch Panel on a Tacoma ruclips.net/video/qyOkrW4P5qk/видео.html
@@AZOverland2017 thank you for the Amazon look up.. but the fuse panel of this unit is it waterproof? I’m looking to put in my Razor for extra connections, plus I seen people when plugging into the main fuse box there are extra spaces, the razor does not give you any looks like.
Doing this right now on my 07. Lower control arm is spring loaded. Doesn't fall down. Anyone else like this?
Ensure everything is loose and nothing else is connected to the LCA. If that is the case, it sounds like your bushings/sleeves have binded and you may need new bushings
@AZOverland2017 i almost took the bolts out trying to free them up. So I'll get them changed.
Does yours boot straight to CarPlay/Android Auto? I just installed this on a 2016 4Runner and have the same UI as you, but it always boots straight to the built-in Navi app. I’ve been through some settings but can’t find anything that might be related to that. Do you have any ideas on that?
It took me a few days to figure that out. I think I did it from that damn Navi app. I can't remember if I did it from the app itself or from the head unit settings. I will check if I wrote it down. But it is definitely doable.
Cool video.
@@rayraykass9935 Thanks!
FYI, that R500 gun *IS NOT* a LVLP gun. They consume upwards of 7cfm, not the advertised 4. And yes, your 'InoKraft' gun is a rebadged Aeropro A610, which is a rebodied R500 (which is $30). I have a 6cfm compressor, and it could only keep up for about 70-80 seconds of painting. Still about 20x better than your standard HF purple gun, just not the efficient gun they advertise.
Thank you for putting together this video it was super helpful on wiring my new A Pillar Lights with the Aux Beam switch panel. Great job!
I'm happy it was helpful!
What kind of circuit breaker is that, and does it come with the cover?
It's a 60 amp included with the Switch Panel. It came with a cover. Here is a similar one with a different cover but they have others with that plastic cover as well if that's what you want: amzn.to/3VDwyCL
@AZOverland2017 thank you!!
@AZOverland2017 also, I have a auxbeam 6 gang i was just looking at the fuse box and I only see and area for the positive wire. Where would I place the negatives and should I mount a busbar?
@@SilverSin I have seen several different configurations for the 6 gang Switch Panels, so I'm not sure which you have. But, on some without the negative wire option, yes, you just ground to the body/frame. If that is the one you have, a negative busbar would certainly clean things up but not a necessity.
@@AZOverland2017 you rock!!!!
do they fit over the mirrors? doesn't that leave a huge gap for bugs?
@@thelippychronicles Food the mirror in and it sits pretty tight under and to the window body
Cool video. Looks like you didnt make it to the harder part. This is NOT a trail for you if you dont have 4wd and "good" clearance. How I'd rate this is "a stock Jeep [Wrangler] can do it pretty easily". Its also known as Copper Creek Trail. You CAN take it into Prescott if you take the road to the right when you exit the trail at the top at the 4 way interstection. The last third of the trail has gotten progressively DEEP rutted with the Monsoons.
Thank you Andy! Wish we were able to go farther in
You showed have used a hair net or a hood to cover your hair
A completer painter's suit with hood would have been ideal
Thank you, this is a great idea. You may not see the damage you are doing to your interior immediately but over time many will wish they would have spent a little time doing something like this.
Because I'm short and the 4Runner is lifted, every time I "slide" out of the driver's seat I can feel the wear on the side bolster and it kills me. I sleep a little better now. I already had to reupholster that area on the 91 4Runner
Looks very nice
They look great!
Thank you, I'm very happy with it
I ended up with a halo on one spot on my deck lid. I bought a blender and sprayed around it and where the spot blend was, but I haven't sanded it yet. Getting 2K off of a bad spot is tough. What grain sandpaper do you use when you get a large fisheye and have to cover it? Thank you for this video I used Dupli Color primer and paint and Eastwood 2K clearcoat.
I want to make sure I understand correctly. When did the fisheye occur? With the basecoat or clearcoat? Is the Dupli Color primer 2k?
What ever happned to.replaceing 6 little bulbs the your done why dose every thing have to be a goofy desighn
Hey question. I have a led 42inch light bar I wanted to install on my 4runner on my auxbeam panel. Its a 240 watts ÷ 12v gives me 20. Should I run it on 20amp or 30 amp fuse?
@@TheJezler Ideally, run it on a 25 amp fuse. Take a 30 out and put a 25 amp in it's place. It will run on both a 20 and 30 amp, but a 20 may blow with a power surge and a 30 may not protect the light as it needs to be.
What's next! Get it done soon! Time to work on the Tacoma!

"Guide Coat".
Not sure what you mean. I use a guide coat for my bodywork not for wet sanding and polishing
Another good reason you needed W&G remover (besides it's a necessity) is you oiled your D/A sander. It exhausts right where you sand.
Yes, I always use it before paint. Thanks!
Do you have a video of having an auxbeam switch panel at the same time the light bars are connected to your high beams as well?
Sorry I don't. I want them to operate independently on my vehicle so I haven't tried that.
Think you went above and beyond on all your techniques...for a daily driver that looked great in the first place. Much talent and appreciate the share! 🍻
Thank you! I appreciate your words
I just got the 6 mode pod light(Auxbeam) and the same 8 gang control box you have. Will this method work to be able to cycle through the different modes?
In most cases this won't be compatible with 6 modes. There was a commenter that said he was able to scroll through the modes by pressing the button each time. I haven't heard of anyone who has had success doing that.nif you do, please let me know
I actually got the 6 gang switch panel and 6 mode pod lights and I can cycle thru the modes by pressing on and off repeatedly but it will default to the first mode after 3 secs. I emailed auxbeam and they said I needed to keep that little switch that comes with the harness. Needless to say I’m pretty annoyed at that. It wasn’t ever stated in their instructions about how to install with a switch panel. I cut off the relays and switch so I need to figure something out. I’m seeing if I can get another harness and see if I need to keep the relay or just leave it be.
Follow up. Wire the yellow wire to another switch. Power it with one switch and use the other switch to cycle thru the modes. Works like normal now!
@@nellyville41 Can you clarify? Did you only have 3 wires in the harness like mine in the video? Did you wire like the video but first press the button powering the yellow wire, then scroll through modes using the button for the red wire?
@@AZOverland2017I had a friends shop install mine and we were both curious as to how it worked so we originally wired the red and yellow together to one switch. I saw another video on RUclips where someone had one of those 6 switch panels from another company that just flips up and down like a regular switch and he wired it separately with the yellow wire. He had to physically turn on the light from one switch and turn on and off the another switch (yellow wire) to change the modes. If he kept it on, it would default back to the first mode after 3 secs which is just white. I had that same issue when wiring both the red and yellow together. Separating it and changing the button on my switch panel from on and off to momentary will help me cycle the modes.
Cant wait for the next mod!
Thanks. This week if all goes well!
The fumes and gasses you need to be most concerned with have no smell and are not filtered through canisters, you need breathing air to safely paint. Any two part paint system where a hardener is required also required breathing air. You may get away with this once or twice in your life but that's about it.
I'm too far gone then. I did some not so smart things when I did auto body for 7 years in the early 90's
Great video. I can't recommend disconnecting the sway bar from the axle as I tried it your way and after the suspension installation I am not able to get the driver side bottom bracket bolt back in! The holes shifted slightly to the left after installation and there is a small metal bracket squished onto the sway bar to lock that bracket in place and preventing me from getting that bottom bolt in. So now I have to have the mechanic try and fix that. Other than that, very helpful video.
I appreciate you feedback! I had no problem with mine. I did a friends I we ran into the same thing you mentioned on his. I wonder if because he had a higher lift in the rear or possibly because his is a TRD OR with potentially thicker sway bars? We were able to still get it done and would have had less of an issue if i had finessed it a bit more before trying to get the bolt in. I know many others have doe it this way with no issues and I have heard from another he had the same issue you mentioned. What model do you have and what size lift in the rear?
@@AZOverland2017 24 TRD Off Road (not premium), put one inch Eibach springs in the rear as part of the Stage 2 kit.
What are you up to now?
You'll see in the next video coming out in a few days🤷♂️

Thanks. It's a McGraw 21 gallon At some point in the video I show the compressor and it's specs
What kind of compressor are you using?

Great video!! How many times did you have to change the disposable paint cups to complete the base coat and clear coat? I assume you pre-filled several (#?) cups for a quick change?
Great question! I had 2 cups premixed of the base coat ready. That's all I needed with the LVLP gun. The clear was mixed in a 2 gallon measuring bucket and I used about 3/4 of a gallon of unreduced clear total. Unfortunately, because I switched to my HVLP gun for clear unexpectedly, I did not have disposable cups for that setup😞
Thanks for the video very helpful
I'm glad it helped!
Thanks for the easy to follow video. About to do this same thing on my ZR2 and wondered how to run the DRLs to my Auxbeam controller.

So does it matter which negative spot the black common ground goes to, the backlight or the main light? Looks like you have it going to the backlight negative spot.

Hey, great video. Do you know if you can wire a remote switch to power on an off an inverter. You may be familiar with the Renogy brand inverters.
