    Great video! Install looks clean. In reference to the circuit breaker location, it is considered “safest” to mount your breaker as close to the power source as possible. If you were concerned and if you wanted to leave the breaker there you could add in something like a Marine Rated Battery Fuse (MRBF) on the battery terminal itself to give you a second line of defense at the “best” location possible. Lots of people leave them like you have it though, but in case you were concerned there are options for leaving the breaker in that location 😊

    • @AZOverland2017
      @AZOverland2017  Год назад

      Thank you for your advice. I'm not overly concerned at this point as I only have the ditch lights and lightbar connected with minimal draw. I will definitely look into that MRBF as I start to add more accessories though. I wasn't familiar with this until you brought it to my attention. I love learning new things so I thank you for bringing it to my attention.

      @gavincalaway6277 Год назад

      @@AZOverland2017 you’re welcome and for sure, happy to share/help! One thing to note: the reason for keeping protection close to the battery actually has nothing to do with the load on the system but rather a wire coming loose or frayed or a short between the battery and the fuse/breaker. If the termination rattles loose and hits metal in the engine bay, that would be bad news, placing close to battery makes that essentially impossible. I am certainly not saying it is “necessary” but it is considered “best practice”.

    Howdy from AZ (Queen creek) as well. I just ordered an Auxbeam to clean up the wiring on a 19 off-road premium I just bought. There are wires everywhere and it’s driving me nuts. I got several quotes so I’m hoping I can tackle it to avoid having to drop another $1k to have a shop do it.
    Couple of questions for you.
    1. How’s the Velcro holding in AZ? I’m always hesitant with our heat that the Velcro will melt and not hold the switch.
    2. Have you had any other issues or problems since install?
    3. Do you do installs for local fellow 4runner owners? I’d love some professional assistance and I’m willing to pay!

    • @AZOverland2017
      @AZOverland2017  Год назад

      Hello! The Auxbeam should certainly help clean everything up. Did you get the bracket for the control box that mounts to the inner fender as well?
      1. The original Velcro I used actually did fail in the summer. I was using Velcro that I had left over from another project and was not ideal for this. I ended up ordering the Velcro below and haven't had a problem since.
      amzn.to/3Ssy3T9
      2. No issues to report.
      3. I have done work for some locals. I am probably an hour and 15 minute drive from you in Queen Creek; I'm in Peoria. I would be open to doing it if you really wanted to drive up here. I would need a 1/2 day to get everything right. I wouldn't be available until the 2nd week in Feb though. You can email if you want to discuss further me at
      Brothersadventuresllc@gmail.com

    • @jakeaubrigreene1745
      @jakeaubrigreene1745 Год назад

      I didn’t get any sort of bracket as I wasn’t sure what came with the Auxbeam itself. I was going to wait to buy a bracket until I saw if I indeed needed it. Is one needed?
      Also I may reach out if I can’t get it figured out. I’m hoping since everything is already ran it should be just a matter of reorganizing and eliminating wires / relays. I need to re run the switch for my rock lights, ditch lights and light bar.

    • @AZOverland2017
      @AZOverland2017  Год назад

      @@jakeaubrigreene1745 I should have put a link to the bracket on the video description. It is not 100% necessary, but certainly nice to have. You can Velcro or screw the control box and circuit breaker to the fuse box cover. I'm not a fan of doing that, but you can do it that way.
      Watch the other videos I did on all those light installs and it should answer most questions. You can email me anytime with questions if you do it yourself. I have helped a number of people that way as well

      @AZ Overland Yeah, tried to contact them with no luck. The switch panel itself is basically just a toggle switch. I just didn't want to overload 1 input because they only have a 30 amp fuse, but my relays cut down the amperage before it even gets to the Auxbeam. I believe I can just leave them in. Unless all of the relays are internally connected, if so I can do away with the rc relays.

    Does the way you have control panel situated truly matter in terms of running the positive cable to the circuit breaker? Reason I am asking is because I was wondering if it is turned the other way were the positive post is closer to the breaker where there won’t be a need to have a 2nd longer positive cable the same length as what came with the kit.

      If it is a 12v system you can use it. As far as starting, this particular one won't work because it only has a monetary switch. You would need one with a continuous for starting or horn, etc. Also, it would depend on the amp draw. You have a 30 p max draw with this Panel.

    Question: Can you use any circuit AND fuse it at whatever fuse rating the light is rated at? Meaning…take out the 30 amp fuse and put in a 5 amp fuse for a 5 amp rated light. Is the fused circuit (30amp) only for a 30 amp accessory or can I place a 5 amp fuse where the 30 was for a 5 amp accessory??? I know I cannot go over 60 amps total for accessories connected. Just want to know if I can interchange fuses with circuits…8 gang panel for 8 accessories each fused at 5 amps essentially.

      My understanding is that you can do that. I've seen where Auxbeam has confirmed this, however to be 100% certain, I would reach out to them directly. I know these switch panels get updated and it would be wise to see if this still holds true with your model.

      Check out one of my more recent videos where I show how to hook up a 2 mode light bar to the Switch Panel. I really don't think there is a simple way to do a 6 mode hook-up unfortunately. You may be able to hook it up and get 2 modes out of it, but the On/Off button won't allow it to switch through all the modes like the switch they provide on the kit

      My understanding, from past Auxbeam information they put out, was yes, this will work just fine. I would recommend that you reach out to them and confirm that, especially because some of these companies change these units with updates as the years pass and it may depend on what unit you have.

    • @jaxturner7288

      Dang why do all these guys fear changing a fuse so much?
      Everyone even mentions using a smaller fuse than what it comes with….. so, are you all afraid of pulling a fuse out? or sticking one in?
      It’s not difficult and they don’t bite. 🤷
      Really If you are working on your own car in any capacity, changing a fuse should not be that big of a deal.
      And if you don’t understand standard electrical devices like fuses well enough to know that using a fuse with a lower amp rating would be fine and it would not create or allow for a dangerous situation, then you should probably stick to just changing oil until you at least understand the basics of how fused circuits function. 👊

      "Toyota added a new relay box in the same location where this bracket goes. Other customers have removed the bracket from the new relay and tucked it beneath the Overland Equipped bracket. Just be aware some modifications are necessary, it’s not a simple drop in."
