    **Important Note**
    I did not go into details on putting that fuse tap in the correct way in the slot where the factory fuse comes out. Make sure if looking at the slotted openings in the fuse tap, that the left prong that goes into the factory spot, is inserted to the power (source) side. You can easily check this by turning the key to ACC or ON and testing each side with the test light. The one that lights is the power (source side).

    I got more info from this than the guys from Ford. I’m trying to add some pod lights to a 2019 Ford Edge St. I’ll do the test light thing tomorrow, I have fuse taps and a relay. I’d like to get the pods to come on with the DLR’s. No luck tapping into headlight connector wire that goes to DLR. So going to try this, maybe I’ll get lucky. Thanks for the great video!!

    Thanks for some great content. Something not mentioned is orientation does matter when inserting into your fuse box using an add a fuse. The power side on the fuse box needs the add a fuse prong side that has continuity to both fuses even when one fails. There are many videos on correct orientation when using an add a fuse that should explain

    i’m have an issue where my after market stereo won’t turn off when the car is off? what fuse should i run the acc wire from the stereo to?

    • @AZOverland2017
      @AZOverland2017  Месяц назад

      You can run it to an ACC switched fuse or an ON fuse if you want but you need to test the fuses as I did in the video to determine which is which. You're tapped into a constant power fuse right now. I would think, depending on exactly what vehicle you have, that you should have an actual 'Radio" or "ACC" labeled fuse in your fuse box.

    Great video AZ. What did you mean extend the wire to the cabin?

    • @AZOverland2017
      @AZOverland2017  8 месяцев назад

      You can add wire to the fuse tap to make it longer and run it into the cabin through the grommet and it to the cabin fuse box. In other words, don't tap into the under hood fuse box, run it to the cabin instead.

    • @AZOverland2017
      @AZOverland2017  21 день назад +1

      Well, technically yes. You need to take some things into consideration. What is the current draw for each gauge? How will you protect each gauge individually if they all tap into 1? What size fuse will you use in the tap? Run individual inline fuses rated for each gauge? Is the wire gauge correctly sized to handle 3 power wires going into 1?

    When I did mine I didn’t bother to find an acc, (honestly want sure what that was) I just found a fuse that only worked with the key on. Lol. Then my dash cam I found one that worked constantly. I just have to make sure I always turn my dash cam off when I get out of the truck, but it always has power so if someone hits me while I’m parked it will come on and record them.

    Will you run into issues if you use an always on fuse? Id like to use my switch assay when keys arnt in to power my lights. The controller has an on/off button so i belive it wont drain the battery

    • @AZOverland2017
      @AZOverland2017  5 месяцев назад +1

      On many Switch Panels I've seen, when there is power to the control box, there is also power to the switch panel backlighting. Usually the on/off is for the the actual accessories being powered not necessarily the Switch Panel backlights. So the answer is, yes, you can do it that way, but it is not advisable because you will have a constant power battery drain which could cause issues. Some controllers are different and may not have backlighting until you push that on/of button.

    • @AZOverland2017
      @AZOverland2017  5 месяцев назад

      @@944kiddo It shouldn't be an issue to do that. Some companies have confirmed this is fine, particularly swapping a lower amp fuse in a higher amp location. I would confirm with Lasfit that they are all interchangeable.

      The only way a warranty could be voided is if it was wired incorrectly and cause damage to another circuit or computer module. If that can be proven, than that specific part would not be covered. It would not void drivetrain, etc warranty.

    • @AZOverland2017
      @AZOverland2017  2 месяца назад

      The fuse tap only powers the Control Box On/Off.
      The 60 A circuit breaker inline from the battery is what actually protects the Control Box from overload. I have done a few videos on the actual wiring and install.
