Prashant acting in the movie ❤ specially Micu scenes, after death and in funeral scenes are awesome. Climax scene and the emotions parvathi and urvashi ma'am brought in was just awesome. Writer and director 👏👏

Why everybody's list is same. If it is so then Indian film is absolutely facing a deep crisis. Otherwise the whole system is badly manipulated to push everybody to watch the same film. In that case it is croony capitalism or perverted communism. Do not take it as criticism. Want you to think and answer.

7 Malayalam films in top 10 films of India. (Sookshmadarshini, Avesham, Manjummel Boys, Aattam, Ullozhukku, All we imagine as light, Kishkinda Kaandham). Happy to see malayalam films finally getting nation wide appreciation.

I don't know what more Prithviraj needs to do in that movie. His transformation is not just physical, but also emotional and nuanced. Imo, it's the FINEST performance of 2024. (with all respect to your opinion) 🙂

Amitabh Bacchan's performance as Aswathama in Kalki is one of his best performances in the recent times. Vikrant Massey's role in Section 36 and Lead actors role in Imtiaz Ali's Chamkila are also good. In mainstream Bollywood, not much memorable performances. Kareena in The Buckingham Murders, Alia in Jigra and Kriti in Do Patti are not bad comparing the whole mainstream Hindi cinema last 1 year

Urvasi won kerala state award for best actress in Malayalam cinema this year for Ullozhukk, while Prithviraj won best actor award for Goat Life. Both the films were certified last year, it seems. Now Urvasi joins the list of Mammootty and Mohanlal, to get maximum awards fo best actor/actress in state awards category. Urvashi has received the award for a record six times, along with megastars. Even the new generation believes she is the best actress Malayalam cinema has ever produced. Her ranking is above Shobana, which she has never got in the 90s when she was fully active

Ah, good list! Aside from your number one (which I have not seen) I would agree with those on list but in a different order. Additionally I would have added both Arvind Swamy & Karthi for *Meiyazhagan* in there as well…not a powerhouse performance but both are filled with nuances. Happy New Year to you as well!

I didn't watch girls will be girls. As you said acting is very subjective. Vijayaraghavan was fantastic in KK. in kill I saw glimses of fafa and Irfan Khan in Raghav Juyal. No wonder fafa called Raghav to aprecipate.

Sometimes I wonder is it even worth expecting such mainstream commercial movies to try to be more than what they are? They cater to a large section of audience and do not want to ruffle any feathers so as to keep their fans happy. It feels naive of me, or infact of anyone, who hopes for subversive stories in mainstream entertainers, which would inevitably lead to questioning the existing status quo, and I don't know if that is something people of West Bengal want right now.😐😐
