Than you for your review! One suggestion: could you let us know the time code to jump to avoid any spoilers :) Oh how I beg that this film makes it to America. Would love to see it in the theater.
the time codes will generate automatically in some more time. However, this isn’t much of a plot driven film, more of an experience through visuals. The storyline is discussed across the review (which is apparent from the trailer anyway) but not the ending.
@@filmkopath well…the (fascinating) trailer was rather cryptic (at least to my western eyes). I wasn’t aware of the marriage issue, though true: this did not seem a plot driven film but rather more tonal…though can’t say much more as I can’t see it until it (hopefully) shows up on OTT. Again, not a big deal just a suggestion :)
I feel frustrated when we hanker for Oscars . This is like Apple validating Tamarind. We are different by culture, language , no matter how much we claim barriers dont exist, nuances cannot be FELT if one has not internalised a culture. We dont need their validation .I am saying this not because I hate the West, but because as someone growin up in rural communities in India, despite my slightly urban background. A friend who is from a metropolitan city, completely urbanised for generations, told me after watching Tamil movie Vazhai , ‘had I not been living in a village for the last few years, this movie would have been a culture shock’. So , if a person for all practical reasons who looks Indian , but yet feels alienated what about a different set of people from a different culture itself .How can they understand the patriarchy or subtly coercions that exists in families over girl children, to a degree on male children too.. Beyond all this Oscars is allegedly rigged as it came out in Harvey Weinstein saga.
