I was eagerly awaiting this review!! Great insight into the film🤩❤ I saw the film a few days back and to put it simply it was refreshing to see a film made with such calibre, such sincerity and focused on humans!! Ranabir Das's cinematography and Dhritiman Das's subtle music, it all blended together to provide such an immersive experience!! I was even more glad that I was not the only one in the theatre to enjoy it!! People from various age demographic showed up and thoroughly added to the experience!!! Of all the movies releasing this year, I can whole heartedly say, this film lived upto its hype💖😍
Very insightful review. I really appreciate your film references. Now I want to explain why this film crossed the very subtle line which made this film memorable than some contemporary malayalam film without taking name. There is recent Malayalam film which also set in nature and captured relationship between mother in law and daughter in law when they faced a crisis. No doubt that film was also an excellent film but the difference is that while a social crisis was explored in the individual space Payal's film effortlessly go between different spaces. The narrative started with Maya Nagari and effortlessly juxtaposed itself to individual characters' identity and effortlessly again put them back in the nature with their parallel crisis. This absolute brilliance is missing in top grade Malayalam films of contemporary time. Payal has done a great service to Indian indie space.
Ok…again. I will view this after I view AWIAL. So hoping I get to see it in the theater, though not sure it will screen in theaters near me. That said…thank you again for the video❤
Nailed it
Pratidwandi... My favourite Ray film...

this is not a film with plotpoints or spoilers as such and you would definitely be able to relate better having watched the film
A good film indeed.... But what are your thoughts on Pokhar ke dunu paar?
Pokhar is a fantastic film…loved it
@filmkopath Yesterday I watched this film, The Buriti flower.... You can give it a watch, it's wonderful
a lot of word salad in your essay , more than its substance
and what do you expect by substance ? story ? good and bad stuff ?
Quite a pretentious review ..
