    I Love that Mexican Folk Art or Feathercraft piece & the awesome frame! I think it's so interesting that it has all of that history on the back...what a find! Nice score - the whole lot! Oh! & you have another one~~~ that's so cool!!!

    Absolutely it’s not weird to buy second hand bedding. It can be washed and sanitized quite easily. My mom who loves thrifting got so many high quality bedding sets from yard sales. I love the frog you picked up, he is so cool. So many good finds.

    The wood cube looks like a dapping block! I have a steel one that I use for making jewelry. The wood one is so pretty, and I would totally use it as a decorative piece too, haha.

    The moire material on the frame almost looks like a guillouche enamel. Very cool, luxe but not over the top. My sister and I love old groovey sheet sets so you have to buy those second hand. Often people are selling high quality sets because they want a change and they can be just lightly used. If you like it, it saves some money and you can wash it, I say go for it.

    Great finds. The fabric on your gold frame is called “moire”, a textile with a wavy or watered look. It’s lovely and I’d say it’s high end.

    AmyG below mentioned the fabric in the frame was taffeta. I agree and the full name of it is Silk Water Taffeta. You can see the watery feel it has. It's a great Sunday when LG has a video!

    Thanks for a quick look into Estate Sale options. I'm always uncomfortable going into somebody's home, purchasing their home goods, and then walking out with them. But as you say there are some really rare finds and unique items. I'm one of those people that can select the basic pieces for my home but have a hard time with the finishing product. So maybe I should treat estate sales as a way to find those finishing touches and introduce them into my home. I also live in SOCAL so it's good to know about local opportunities available. Thanks again.

    There is a new Goodwill Outlet in downtown SD. We have one in Tucson too. Last time I was there they had tons of nice rugs. People weren't buying them probably because its a pay by the pound situation. "The bins", as they are known, is not for the faint of heart and very hit or miss. Fun for the treasure hunter!

    Very nice outcome for this very tight budget and with you feeling so sick! The only thing I didn't think fit perfectly was the cabinet. I would've chosen something wider and lower and also a darker wood tone (and stained the other woods to match). Maybe not even a piece of furniture but a built-in shelf...

      Thanks! I mentioned in the planning video for this makeover that my sister in law didn’t want any dark wood tones. And she really wanted something removable with lots of storage as she rents. It’s hard designing for other people haha

    Interesting program. I love Pinterest, I have boards for each room of my house, gardens, yard art and many others. Look forward to your bedroom makeover. I think some sort of vintage medicine cabinet would work for your perfume collection, a thrifted piece in keeping with your thrift style. I have an antique armoire, purchased from Craig's list. Theres shelves for folded clothes instead of hanging, which works better for me. The backside of the door, I padded & satin covered it, criss crossed ribbon, installed hooks to hang necklaces, bracelets a couple of miniature frames, photos and a few mementos. On one of the shelves, I have a thrifted vintage frame. The inside of the frame, matches the padding, ribbon & satin of the door; I have some of my grandma's vintage costume pins displayed with a photo of my grandma. She collected pins.

    • @livingwithlk
      @livingwithlk 7 дней назад

      That’s a great idea! I was considering maybe an armoire instead of a dresser and adding shelves! And the door would be great to hang necklaces etc. Man, I haven’t used Craigslist in forever. I feel like they got kind of weird in my area a while ago, super scammy but maybe I should check back again.

      @@livingwithlk - Craig's list got a bit strange here also. I bought the armoire about 8 years ago before it got weird. Market Place is a much better platform. Do you have an e-mail address? I can send you a couple of photos of the armoire, inside the door and framed pins. TY
