I love your channel. I especially like your calm narration throughout each video. The "archway to nowhere" would make a great linen closet. I also love thrifting. I'm really looking forward to more of your videos.
Love the idea of a different color ceiling...maybe extend that into the storage area? Or paint the back wall yellow? If it leads off the living room, maybe bring in a color from there for continuity? Thanks for sharing your process...
Great idea! And thanks so much for watching! I am trying to finish this makeover this week so we can evaluate how the planning actually panned out haha but we shall see! might need to be pushed to next week -- can't wait for you all to let me know your thoughts!
@@livingwithlkI would like to be able to do a mood board, decorate and add texture. I feel like my rooms never feel complete. I paint and start decorating then I stop before it's all complete.
I just found your channel a few days ago and I really admire your style, as well as how creative and practical you are! I also haven't seen too many design creators who show their planning and budgeting process in so much detail--super helpful :-) Looking forward to the reveal.
I love how engaging your videos are, and this is quite a fun space with rhe vintage tile. You mentioned that guests accidentally turn on the light in the arched nook, which made me wonder if you could swag a light so it was in the main part of the room. That may be entirely unfeasible, but it would be nice not to have the light boxed in. Looking forward to seeing your plan come together!
I just want to caution you about using paper lampshades in bathrooms, because they’ll get damp and mold will grow on them. A material like glass is what you need.
Another great video. 👏 I love your style and the choices you’re making. That bathroom has so many fun elements to work with. The tile is to die for. 🤩 Love the yellow and orange accents. Can’t wait to see how it all turns out. 🚨Warning: I bought those exact Casa Luna towels, and they look better than they perform. Not very absorbent, sadly.
You definitely won't need a whole gallon for the ceiling. I'd start with a quart for sure. Also, a lot of items can be thrifted and sanitized easily... Like the garbage can and decor items if they are solid surfaces or you are going to spray paint or DIY them anyway. Even a white shower curtain or regular curtains to DIY. Just some thoughts. It's gonna be fun when it's done!
In keeping with the style of house and bathroom blue penny tiles, I think pops of yellow and orange paint is a wonderful idea for accents!!! I would consider White towels, as they wash well and perhaps the actual hooks can be painted the orange along with the trash can. I love the blue paint in the window and yellow ceiling idea!!! Love your editing and music choice…. New subscriber here and can’t wait to see more from your channel!!!!!
I'm probably very late with this comment, but the shower curtain in your mood board is made using a traditional Korean sewing technique called bojagi. It's very clever because the seams are folded in and sawn in so you don't have to worry about them, and it's very fun and easy to make yourself. You should try! There are tutorials online.
Excited to see this especially the blue 💙 yellow 🌻 combo and yes would love to learn more about using Canva as I start to work on my primary bedroom refresh this spring 👍
Looks great! I loved the yellow bath mat from Ikea. Also, if you buy clear glass for the sconces shades, you see the light bulb and that bugs a lot of people. I don't mind the sconces she already has. Maybe you just leave them?
I'm wondering if the light switch for the sconces is directly behind the light switch in the arched area. If it is, perhaps you could combine them and get rid of the hall switch. I really kinda don't like the pendant light idea in the arched area. It looks like it crowds the cabinet and eliminates the space on top of the cabinet. I like the idea of soft light coming from above the cabinet (no fixture showing) and maybe some pretty towels (perhaps that orange pop you're looking for) stacked on top of the cabinet. I love the idea of painting the inside of the window frame blue to match the floor. I think if you got rid of (stored in the new cabinet---or under it in a basket) the stuff under the sink---and then spray painted the water pipes in some kind of antiqued metal color, the towel rack around the sink would be perfect as it is. Painting the cabinet that's already there the same blue as the window might be a little too much since the bathroom is so small---perhaps you could clad it with beadboard painted white and decorate it with blue accents. I'm excited to see what you come up with! Good luck!
Thank you so much for this! All great ideas!! I have to agree with you on the arch. I still need to see the cabinet in there to get a better idea of how to move forward. I’ll have to ask her husband about the light switch thing that might be an awesome fix!
LK- you are so savvy when it comes to colors, what about painting the switchplates in orange/blue or yellow/blue; and sealing the paint with shellac? Diagonally, vertically, checkered......😊

I don't know if someone has already told you but I hope this helps. The wood sheeting that you were looking for are located with the DIY cabinets and/or the countertops. Easy to use and makes a world of difference to existing cabinets. Love the video !
I cannot tell you how helpful this video is! Thank you! Planning DIY for a place I’m moving to, and I’ve been needing this kind of info as a beginner. I use Canva so I would love a video about how you use it in the planning process.
Well, that was fun. Thanks for taking me with you. Umm...could we stop for coffee next time? LOL If you know someone who sews the "kerchief" shower curtain is a very easy project to make.
Great video! For the shower curtain: maybe flour sack towels cut in golden ratio sizes… I can’t think of the name of that seam I wanna say French seam but I’m probably wrong! So if you don’t already know how to do that you can maybe find a how to info… Oh that zig zag roofing board stuff… what if painted orange and add hardware or pegs for towel rack… it might be hung vertical or horizontal… maybe? You might check out Habitat for Humanity Restores for stuff. Hardware for hooks, globes for the sconces… material for the sink surround… This might be too tacky of an idea but wood look contact paper on the glass shelf on the vanity and then just covered boxes/ baskets for storage and hang towels on the bar…semi covered semi open… maybe This might sound really weird and not any of styles, but I really love the sink and the only things not cool about it are the glass shelf and the pipes. What about pop of orange vinyl on the glass shelf or orange duck tape on the pipes… You might do stripes (vertical) in the alcove behind the dresser. Even if very subtle like same color white paint but use the glossier version that you use on the woodwork for the stripe… Does the ikea sconce metal part come off? Can the light weight wood veneer or luan be cut into a smaller circle and exchange the metal piece for wood? Sorry, you’re really inspiring! Love what you’re doing!
Great idea on the towel rack with hooks! I was thinking of some kind of stripe maybe in the archway, or a cool wallpaper.. thank you so much for you input! 😍
Excellent. Art deco, possibly Hollywood Glamour. I like having the choice of liquid or bar soap. That clear waste basket will definitely need a clear bag. Is tan wood dark? I sincerely hope you keep that flooring. Cheers.
Any shower curtain ideas? I’ve been looking for a new one for months. Live in a small town where shopping isn’t great and not sure where to look online.
"Her daughter and husband's primary bathroom" So she has her own bathroom and then still uses theirs? Interesting😅 Why not just do shelves? That cabinet took up so much space and leaving so much wasted space that could be utilise for more storage. Just a suggestion. I love that cabinet though, it's gonna look great once you've done something with it.
