You're a wealth of great advice. I was a thriftshop buyer for 19 years. It is a hard habit to break. Almost everything in my house is thrifted and my place looks great. I wanted to share that most beautiful dinnerware and drinkware is toxic with cadmium, led etc. That put a damper on that aspect of home decor. You are a SUPERB RUclipsr!!!
Thank you for sharing your experience! Thrifting can be such a rewarding journey, and it's great to hear that your home reflects your unique style. It's always important to be aware of the materials in our decor, too!
New subscriber. I love your style, and your genuine, warm personality. No snark or condescension, no snobbishness or design name-dropping. Looking forward to seeing more from you.
I am definitely with you for ceramics and linens - I bought a gorgeous white linen tablecloth from the 70s that I use as a curtain on one of my windows. One thing I would like to add in terms of kitchenware - I buy cast iron items, both enameled (if not damaged), and particularly seasoned. Old seasoning can be stripped and the pans and pots can be reseasoned for pennies compared to what it'd take to buy new cast iron. I cook a lot, and these pans (some of which are decades and one may be a century+ old) are seeing a lot of use!
I’ve watched 1-15. You e done a GREAT job showing so many ideas. I like that you talk fast and move the videos along. You have a good style. Thank you ❤
Amongst the many things I look for one is unusual highend cushion covers. I now have a good collection that I swap out seasonally or as my mood changes to give an instant refresh both inside and out.
found two glass vases probably from FTD or some such place. Took them home and used baking soda and paint to give them a pottery look. They are now a pair permanently on my mantel to display flowers.
Happy sunny Sunday afternoon, LK! 🌤MInute marker 4:10 re: stools- also think about narrow C-shaped side tables; the kind that slip over the arm of a sofa or chair. I found one on the side of the road last summer, and because it's narrow, it functions well as a 2-tier plant stand. Always look forward to your videos! 🙂
Thank you so much!! I actually just saw two of these at an estate sale but they were in pretty bad shape and I just didn't have it in me to fix them up haha but these are great options as well!
Happy ecliptic Monday 4/8/24 from the PNW! Was it you who said ceramic decorative pieces were "en trend" this year? While out-and-about yesterday, I chanced on a yard sale (couldn't miss the bright neon sign!). The back yard was filled with treasures, but what caught my eye was a wave-shaped ceramic vase in my color palette. To sweeten the deal, everything was 1/2 off (I paid $2)! Thank you, thank you, thank you for inspiring us to think outside of the box! I always look forward to your videos!
Love that desert pot! I feel like you and I have a lot in common- probably around the same age, grew up in SD (Oceanside is my home town), and then worked hard for years (for low compensation) in entertainment/tv in LA. I’m living in Long Beach now - slowly inching back south! Ha. Now I’m feeling disillusioned with the TV industry and will probably leave it if I can find an exit strategy. It’s very cool to see you doing this new career that you seem to love :) thanks for your videos.
Oh cool that's awesome! Thanks so much for the kind words ☺ I love Oceanside! I definitely prefer SD over LA haha its much more my vibe and my pace :) Entertainment industry is quite the drain.. I feel ya!
Thank you! Do you mean the evil eye black and white rectangle pillow? Its a Jonathan 😍Adler pillow I found as a set of 2 at the Rose Bowl flea market for only $9! I love how graphic it is😍
@livingwithlk I love it too. You're so lucky to have found two and for that price. I've looked online and it's crazy money. I'm in Ontario, and we don't seem to have Flea markets like you do.
I like the clocks 🕰️ will check those out more often. I like old silver-sometimes the patina is attractive but do you have a favorite way to clean and/or make shiny? Thank you ☺️
I totally get it! I have successfully tried bon ami and vinegar or water and that can help. Also if its chrome, tin foil and vinegar surprisingly, I have also used a basic silver cleaner from the hardware store which can sometimes be smelly. Bar keepers friend or brasso can work. It just depends! you should try small parts of a piece to see if its effective and if you see that its working then do the rest : ) hope that helps!
What are some of your best thrift store finds that really changed the style and vibe of your space?
I am constantly looking for those really affordable furniture pieces that are gems! Its so hard to find so much of it is not good lol

Haha omg that's so kind thank you!!
Love one of a kind and vintage items ❤
Me too! Thanks for watching!
This was a fun series, enjoyed it and all the tips. I like the stool suggestions, they're usually inexpensive and can move around as needed.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I use my trivets to place under candles and other decor. This can elevate the item and give it some importance.
You’re right about the clocks
Love that you gave clocks a shout out! I love clocks, and aways check them out at the thrift store. Lots of great ideas here.🙂
YES I don't know what it is ... haha its just unique decor!
I have a large frog but it’s too large for my vases. I thought… I liked the idea of using it in a shallow bowl flower arrangements
Thanks for your tips
