I screamed at my tv so much watching this episode 😂
Im like 90% sure your taxes are killing the city!
Oh, im a 100% sure they’re killing it! 🤣
Quick tip. Instead of doing the move it from the building, use move it. The built in moving costs $$$
I screamed when I saw the brat green!
Yeah you cant put taxes at 20+% and then wonder why no demand lol
We learned that the hard way 😂😂
they didn't fix anything with the new economy patch, just disable external city services and you'll easily make a profit. Also focus your economy on computer chips and offices.
I would highly suggest that you check your electrical connections as according to the info view at 23:50, there's a little over 700 MW of power that's not being exported, which is costing you some extra income. I want to say that it's the connection you removed at 15:16 to make room for the revised train tracks, but that may only be part of it if that has anything to do with it at all.
How do I make additional external connections? I cannot figure it out for the life of me 🫠
@@WheatyWaffle I think all you'll need to do is rebuild the high voltage lines you deleted when adding that track. IIRC, you'll need to use Anarchy to cross over the tile border to get them connected.
@@WheatyWaffle All you should need to do is replace the high voltage towers that you destroyed; however, I think you used Anarchy to remove them, so you'll need to use that to remake the connection from your tiles to the outside lines.
You should get the 529 tiles mod to lock all the tiles you don’t have development on so that the tile upkeep isn’t so high
High tax is bad dude
So bad - I think it made everything worse 😭
Sometimes, putting tax down low, your money goes up, because more business come to your town. Abd they pay tax. Try lowering all tax.
Going to give it a shot!
It would be great if you made a small town on the island in the river. For ✨progress✨
For ✨progress✨ - I like your thinking.
Hey 12 percent tax is ideal Increasing more is detrimental more than beneficial in the long term
We’re learning that real quick! Lol
Lower the taxes = more money because people are willing to pay fair taxes. Also higher building levels will pay more for taxes rather than lower building levels. Parks are a great thing to place to increase the building levels. This is all I've learnt through my playing time
You can use the 529 tile mod to re-buy tiles you need and get rid of tiles you don't need, so your tile upkeep is less. I believe City Planner Plays has a video about the tiles
Maybe you could start charging for parking with the bigger car park
Not a bad idea - I pay $25 for parking in the city, so these cims have it GOOD
Wheaty Waffle Wednesdays are definitely a thing now. The first two posts on a Wednesday I thought “Oh he’s just busy with life so these are prerecorded and posted.’ But 3 POSTS ON A WEDNESDAY?! That’s no fluke! Love your videos ♥️
You are the inspirationnnnnnnn!!!!!!!! 🧇🧇💖
WWW!
@@WheatyWaffle I want to suggest something to you . Colossal order actually mentioned in their patch that anything about 12% tax will drive that demand down . So if you cross 12% the business will get abandoned
That is one ugly interchange. I love it!
She's got a bit of charm, no?! lol
You might have gone a bit too crazy on all the highway exit and entrances they’re too close together. As for that first monster jumbo you could have just a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) and avoided all those bridges or even a double roundabout interchange could have worked too. 😂
The word you keep looking for in the beginning of the vid is divided and undivided highway
THANK. YOU. 🙏🙏🙏
Could you please record at a higher bitrate?
I can give it a shot!
Yo you're the guy from Reddit from 3 years ago 👋
Up until I got locked out of my Reddit account lol 👋
@@WheatyWaffle I m happy your account is prospering man! This is my new account where I post my stuff
someone get this guy a partial clover interchange
Somebody! Anybody!! 👀
Hi ... so a few ideas from me. 46:52 usually you would first split the exit off the highway and then merge in the on-ramp. If you do the opposite, it would be quite dangerous in real life. 46:34 Before adding the last highway entrance, there are three ramps that basically only connect one side of the highway to the highway. Cars from/to the lower part of the screen (=North?) would need to u-turn. If you have an East-West-highway connected to a North-South-arterial road, consider that the highway connection should provide 8 options to turn: four right turns and four left turns. And in right-hand-side traffic, right turns are quite easy to build, the left turns are challenging - and maybe those should be built first, with easy right turns at the end of the build. 30:20 A cloverleaf junction might have been an option here, but those are known for "weaving problems". A solution would be, to separate the weaving areas - just like you do here with the two parallel on-lane-ramps below Lake Street (Amity Highway and one of two Garnet Highways), of which one was a bridge before underpassing the highway bridge and the other becomes a bridge afterwards, which provides the grade separation. And the Foggy Highway [again, name used twice in view] right turn off-ramp is a little bit space-consuming, taking away the chance to add a left-turn cloverleaf on-ramp ... the issue that will later be solved with a roundabout. 22:47 Good lane math here: 4 lanes, taking two lanes off, because of right turning and left turning traffic, which then separate. This 2+1+1 setup could be used for all sides of the highway connection on the arterial road as well as the highway: 4 minus 1 each for outgoing right and left turning traffic is branched off; 2 plus 1 each where incoming right and left turning traffic is merged back in. But even less powerful highway connections are an option if you build them quite frequently as you do in Lethe. Do not underestimate a diamond interchange or a SPUI. Especially, if the normal road networks of both sides of the highway become better connected like 24:27 ... although I would have preferred the connection of the neighbouring cul-de-sacs on the right of the screen, this would reroute more traffic from the highway-connection ...
I’ve really been enjoying seeing your personality come out in this series, and I love what you’re doing with the editing too. Keep it up!
Wheatyyyy, I'm cackling at the intersection! All the while I was wondering why is he going beneath the main highway instead of going above it. Regardless, love the little loop de loop that came out in the end. And the poor things at 28:50 they had just had their homes destroyed not too long ago hehe. The hack that you brought in at 36:34 , GENIUS!
Why such a car centric city and not giving pedestrians any options ?
I live in Philly, so all I know are car centric cities - we’ll do some redevelopment in the future
@@WheatyWaffle Philly isn't that car centric what part of Philly are you from. Philly has smaller streets, transit in the forms of subway, buses and trams. Everything between Schuylkill River and Delaware River is not car centric
Id recommend getting the lane tool mod to get rid of u-turns on your on/off ramps
I love discovering new cs2 youtubers and you are genuinely funny
Thank you!!! Hope you enjoy 😊
A split diverging diamond may have suited you pretty well in that intersection!
I have always wanted to build one of these…. I feel like I should practice first tho
love the episode, keep it up :)
That kind of road is a dual carriageway.
THANK YOU!! If it’s just a single highway with two directions of opposing traffic, is that considered a single carriage way?
This is like a trumpet intersection but you forgot what it looks like
I feel like I forgot everything in this build 🤦♂️
Never thought I'd see the day where there'd be a divided highway here
I aim to please
One-way highway love 😂 You're doing great sweetie <3 Also love the loopy interchange!
YOURE DOING GREAT SWEETIE!!!
@@WheatyWaffle keep the memes coming please 😂
The intersection build had me laughing my butt off. I needed that in my life so thank you!
My pain is your pleasure lol 😂
The struggle was real
The struggle was felt by all
I love watching this series
Thanks for tuning in!
Good stuff WW, love your work!
Thanks RLJSlick!!
Can use in game interchanges and then inprove them slightly afterwards to give you some baseline
I tried that off screen but some of them were way too large. But I need to rely on them more as the city expands cause this was TIRING lol
Remember, you don't need to do full interchanges in one place. Offset half ones will work.
Cool
You’re cool
FYI - the edge of your circle is 6 blocks, so no need to go out of your way to count ...
Great tip!
Hi ... 7:28 "An access point here?" - I'd rather see a diamond interchange or SPUI layout attached to the bridge that also offers a highway on-ramp to the westbound lanes. If you add a roundabout south of the highway, you could disable left-turns, creating a "dumbbell interchance" (Google Image search presents sketches of the layout). 12:01 Butler St bridge is a good connection - another one of those crossings of a linear obstacle. To avoid steep inclines you cannot connect the bridge to Walnut or Laurel St - and if you had already considered a future bridge when you first built the neighbourhood, maybe those two little streets would not exist as part of the regular grid. Maybe the initial grid would be smaller, leaving a wider gap between zoning and the highway (or other linear obstacles: rail lines, rivers, ...). Such a gap could later be filled with a grid extension or might be a location for a service building, if you discover demand. 12:44 Due to the bridge connection, this new road might also be a 4-lane ... similar thing on the other side: 10:58 continuations of these rare crossings can become quite busy, and the perpendicular one-way streets do not really help dispersing the traffic. 17:12 It is not necessary to turn of the left turns, as long as they have separate lanes on the two main roads of the intersection; rather add 2+1 asymmetry for the side streets. 48:01 I appreciate how the new bus line is serving both the high school and the railway station. Tiny changes to the other two lines could allow them to do so as well - a triple interlining between station and high school (maybe even with bus lanes) would not mean overserving the area.
I covered a former industrial area with trees and I swear the pollution seemed to reduce faster.
I wouldn't be surprised if it did, next time we move an industrial area, I am going to try it out.
suggestion: grove crest is a walk thru park or animal sanctuary. Many midwest american towns with 1950's/60's poluted industial parks were just turned into normal parks until polution was low enough for residental development years later near the park. The trees and plants helped absorb the polution over time. just a suggestion from a person who lives near the old chysler plant south of STL thats now a Elk Park with a huge bird habitat. ($10 a vehicle to enter and drive thru the whole park and see the wildlife)
They just added some new parks to the game in a free update - I have to see if any of them will work but this is a great idea!
You should name a district or street after my last name, Morgenstjerna, please 🙏
Organized education who? Now we just need 34082038 more elementary schools and you're done! 😂 I'd love to see a mega compound of all the types of colleges and a "mega" group of elementary school for the city kids. Give them some inspiration. Or maybe the science university by the new hospital? The pollution, once there takes around one in game year to dissipate typically. Someone tested adding trees and it didn't seem to help. Apparently at level 6 there is an Advanced Pollution Management Policy to help industry from spreading it as much in the future.
The fact that a lot of the small residential houses look identical is fine. During the 1950s Suburban boom in America, almost all houses constructed in suburban areas looked identical. Given that this expansion to the city can be seen as a bit of a suburban boom, it's rather realistic for many of the houses to look identical
There is no way to get rid of land pollution. It has to go away on its own, but it takes a very long time for it to go away
Patiently, I will wait...
I wish I had this game
