Although it's not on this album, the other song you *might* recognize is "Straight To Hell" off of Combat Rock (same album with "Should I Stay Or Should I Go"). The intro to "Straight To Hell" is sampled by M.I.A. for "Paper Planes"!!!!

If you like British rock I’d recommend you listen to The Who, especially their most popular album Who’s Next. These were the insanely cool guys who were the first to smash their instruments on stage and the drummer and guitarist even went part deaf after they loaded the drums with gunpowder.

This is my first video of yours and I just wanna say you guys made me so happy! Alice In Chains is my favorite band and I absolutely love to see when someone loves them as much as you did, I love when someone can appreciate older music and can see the quality and beauty in it, especially younger generations! You should definitely listen to some more AIC because they don`t have a bad album in my opinion, especially in the Layne era, my suggestion for the next album would be Facelift. P.S. About the song "Rooster" it was actually written by Jerry (the guitarist) about his dad and they did call him Rooster in the war. Jerry actual wrote a lot of the songs and he also sings together with Layne in some of them. He also makes his solo music I think you would like.

The NIN experience is and was amazing! I was 20 when they started out. Their discography is unmatched! They are signed to interscope records and their music does have hip hop beats mixed in. They worked very close to Jimmy Iovine who also works with Eminem.

Anything by Skinny Puppy and the album Gub by Pigface (an industrial supergroup, Trent was on that album) is way more off the charts than this. Awesome album though.

The song Heresy is simply calling out everyone who uses their God as a reason/excuse to justify their hatred for anyone not like themselves or don’t adhere to their plan. Anti-Homosexual, anti-Semitic, the inquisitions, molestations, all are justified. Real talk we almost lost Trent three times around this album, 2 overdoses, and look up the story behind the song“Lamer”

Trent did not go out of his way to buy the Tate house. It was a cheap house in the neighborhood he wanted it. It was a perfect small house for him to record in. He found out shortly after he bought it, and he was not bothered in the slightest. The realtor did not mention the murders only that it is a cheap house. Also, this is the original version of “hurt.” Johnny Cash‘s final album was a cover album, including Soundgarden and Depeche Mode covers.

Great reaction! I was very fortunate to have been able to see him live in 1995, when I was 18, in a small club at SDSU. We pushed up front so this angel-in-human-form was only about 10-15 ft away from me. I’m not a spiritual person, but holy fuck boys that was a serious spiritual experience. He goes even crazier live, never sang a song the same way twice. One of the most amazing things I’ve ever witnessed in my life… his death crushed me and still hurts to this day 😢 At least we were blessed with this masterpiece of an album to cherish before he left us. Check out his live performances, you will be even more blown away.
