This album came out when I was in 8th grade. The first album I got that was great front to back.

I remember being in 4th grade in 1999 and staying up late to listen to the local rock radio stations metal show on Friday night, and they played wait and bleed and i was instantly hooked. It was like nothing I’d ever heard. It was heavy, it was angry, i was mind blown. If it wasn’t for slipknot i don’t think my music taste would be what it is today, they paved the way for me.

32:54 they still had computers. Trent was actually pretty literate in Pro Tools on Macintosh in the days. Most of the distortion was done by Trent or Flood taking tapes of recordings, running them through distortion and/or synthesizers, and then doing final touches in Pro Tools. I think this is why the album holds up so well today. I think this is also the reason why so many bands took so many notes off this album despite its niche genre.

The album is a fucking masterpiece! Not even an 10/10 you can’t even rate it. I was a kid who grew up on all music and was at shows multiple times a week. I rarely tool my headphones off. This album shook me to my core and my love for music was beyond elevated. 25 years later and I’m still playing this at least once a week in its entirety. Check out their album Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokin. Fuuucking amazing! Please please check out Killswitch Engage Discography. They are the only band besides Deftones with a damn near flawless discography. Tight band with great vocals and every member plays a crucial roll. Keep at it boys 🤘

They are a blend of Metal, techroninica, hip-hip and some soft haunting and/or heartbreaking lyrics The groups gimmick is the Singer (vessel) sing to an Eldritch God/Goddess whom he channel like a priest & is in lover with her
