Radiohead still exists as a band. At various times in their careers they’ve gone off to do their own stuff, but they still always come back and do stuff together.
Highly recommend you guys react to Radiohead - The Daily Mail (From the Basement), it's a track not on any of their albums from the King of Limbs period and the live performance was so good they released it as a single. Thom's voice is insane in it and you get a good look at the band not long before A Moon Shaped Pool.
I agree. The all of the songs they did from OK computer on Jools Holland are amazing. I believe they did Airbag, and No Surprises, two of my favorite songs on the album.
King of Limbs is more of a collection of songs than an properly sequenced album. That’s why some people don’t love it. It lacks, but it’s still better than most everything else in the world
Radiohead: In Rainbows LIVE From the Basement....it is the ultimate Radiohead experience you can ever get. Takes them to a whole different level, trust. Would be a great follow up to A Moon Shaped Pool Reaction. Nice random drop! Appreciated- Peace/
Please react to Radiohead - In Rainbows From The Basement (April 2008). As great as the 'In Rainbows' album is, the From The Basement performance is amazing. And you can watch the band perform the songs, rather than just listen to the album. Radiohead - King of Limbs From The Basement (December 2011) is also high recommended. I personally hated the King of Limbs album when it was first released, but I begrudgingly watched the From The Basement performance. Their performance is so good that it allowed me to appreciate the studio album and give the album another chance. I still prefer the From The Basement performance, but the studio album has since grown on me and I now enjoy it. And y'all shouldn't overlook Pablo Honey. It's a classic.
Same here i love it from the basement but the studio version sounds overly dense, robotic and kind of muted in a way. It's the only record that I didn't like Nigel's work on. I did come to appreciate the studio album but it was 100% because of the basement session.
Their best live performance is them doing Paranoid Android on the Jools Holland show 1997 just after OK Computer came out. It's on RUclips, would love to see you listen to it. Cheers.
Great reaction as always guys!! You should definitely do yourselves a favour and react to their from the basement sessions, probably the best live studio sessions I’ve seen in my life! You can really appreciate the skill and artistry by seeing them actually play
I REALLY recommend the live performance of Alice in Chains - Love, Hate, Love (Live at the Moore). One of the best vocal performances I've heard, Layne's control and delivery in it is mind blowing.
My favorite band RADIOHEAD!! YES!! Thanks for a great reaction video!! Be sure and watch In Rainbows Live from the Basement. Thom just loses himself in the music and they are so ultra phenom gifted!!!
More suggestions for you folks: Queen: A Night At The Opera: Came out in 75’, a timeless rock classic Nirvana: You Know You’re Right: Unreleased Nirvana song, Kurt Cobain’s last known recorded song before his suicide in April 94, wasn’t officially released until 2002. Pink Floyd: The Division Bell: While releasing in 1994, it is typically seen as the best post 70’s Pink Floyd album, and resonates a lot with people who enjoy their big 4 albums. Pearl Jam: Ten: Released in 1992, an amazing grunge album, reminiscent of Alice In Chains or Nirvana, and has some awesome and iconic tracks.
The performance which always blows me away is live on Later with Jools Holland in 2001, the whole show is great but Paranoid Android is extraordinary. Also their performance at Glastonbury in 2017 is fantastic as well.
It's time to dig into their live shows. Good ones to start with, Glastonbury 1997 and 2003. Jonny, btw, is positively manic live, just all over the place, doing everything.
King of Limbs is very similar to Hail To The Thief, with a few of the songs being some of the bands best works, and some of the others are mostly fillers and just alright. Like, Lotus Flower, Separator, Codex are some of the bands best. You'd like it.
As a huge Radiohead fan I love watching your reactions. You can tell that you two are great friends, which makes it enjoyable to watch. I usually watch your videos when I'm making a doobie! haha. Anyways, I have some albums that I think you guys would love! Muse - Origin Of Symmetry (sounds like Radiohead and Jeff Buckley, but with a more spacerock sound) Muse - Absolution (My second favorite album of all time, OK Computer is my number one) Kashmir - Zitilites (A Danish rockband that also took inspiration from Radiohead and Jeff Buckley) Dizzy Mizzy Lizzy - Dizzy Mizz Lizzy (Another Danish rock band. Their sound is alot like grunge in the 90's like Nirvana. It is the best selling rock album of all time in Denmark. They were only 18 when they made it) Nick Drake - Pink Moon ( A very calming and comfortable folk album. I would recommend you guys research this guy a bit if you listen to it, he has a very interesting story) Tim Christensen - Honeyburst (A softrock/folk album. The singer/guitarist from Dizzy Mizz Lizzy went solo after Dizzy Mizz Lizzy split up in the 90's. He created a beautiful and awesome record that is still very popular in Denmark to this day. Led Zeppelin 1,2,3 and 4 (You just need to listen to these albums before you die, they are so good, seriously) Cheers! Anyways, I
Fragile by Yes, listened to that album like 8 times in the past week. Not being super big on Yes, this album still blew me away. It's no Floyd, but damnit it's a good album. Sure Roundabout is an iconic track from the album, but songs like South Side of the Sky are just peak.
Ok, so whomever guided you to skip 'King of Limbs' has lost their mind, and as you are branching into live Radiohead then you have to go for the 2 'from the basement' shows they did on Rainbows' and 'King of Limbs' so enjoy ... and never think of skipping that album again lol Enjoy .. it will blow your socks off!! ruclips.net/video/hI5YMDioDBY/видео.html&ab_channel=Radiohead
Stop me if someone mentioned this, but if you're going to do Radiohead live, please do IN RAINBOWS:LIVE FROM THE BASEMENT! Please and Thank You. Also it's time to listen to Portishead : Dummy
I still think you guys should do King of Limbs. Yeah it’s divisive among fans but it still has some great moments and shows another evolution in their sound.
You have to listen to "The Bends", it's an amazing album. I lent it to my housemate at uni, and she liked it - never gave it back either! Hot girl pass...
if you guys decide to react to The King Of Limbs you should skip the studio album and just do the basement session instead. Take it from me, a huge Radiohead fan, the album is dense, robotic and the production isn't great. It sounds kind of muted and overly dense it's the only album that Nigel kind of messed up. The basement session is fantastic it sounds much better with more organic instruments and two of the songs that weren't on the album are better than half of the album. If you guys haven't done the In Rainbows basement session you should, it's legendary and there are a few songs from other albums and a b-side that's beautiful (Go Slowly). The IR session has no copyright issues at all so you don't even have to chop it up. Beware because the other one does. I feel like if you do TKOL from the basement you will love the record and if you do the studio album you're not going to like it much.
The best Radiohead live performances are in the basement though for the ones with large crowds the Glastonbury ones are probably the better ones to do for reactions. Also a shout out for the performance of The Numbers from Jonny and Thom done live.
@@jameshannagan4256 it's just brilliant, a Paul Thomas Anderson i think directed that but it's just simply 4 mins of the genius of Thom and Jonny with a beautiful backdrop and i don't think anyone has reacted to it that i'm aware of.
The jaw stretching is made so you can: 1, relax your facial muscles, so singing is easier 2, "wide" your ear to hear clearly Guys, he is too quiet to be on cocaine...
In Rainbows live from The Basement is a must for any Radiohead fan, its like being in their rehearsel room sat in the corner with your jaw on the floor. It is magical, in every sense of the word. I've been to hundreds of gigs and festivals, I've seen Radiohead 7 times including the legendry Glastonbury 97, I got to see every single band I liked live if they were still touring/alive.... and some musical legends like Floyd in 94, David Bowie and Page and Plant at Glastonbury, Bob Dylan, The Who, Neil Young the list goes on and on... I would happilly give up all of those gigs and festivals to have been sitting in that basement when they recorded that session.
Extreme guitarist, Nuno Bettencourt, guitar master and awesome singer as well, covered “Creep” for Charity for the David Z Foundation in 2021. He just sings and doesn’t play guitar, but is awesome! “Creep” Nuno Bettencourt ruclips.net/video/STX5Q_-BbAM/видео.htmlsi=3gofbYf_mUBRl_ew
Speaking of the Smile ....they are absolutely amazing same Radio head DNA and if anything they rock alitte heavier in a lot of songs you would really enjoy reacting to them ❤️🎸🌈🎵💛🎶🎸
Creep was and still is very popular. You can imagine how many time they’ve played it out of pure obligation. This would make anyone sick of it. Especially considering how much they’ve grown and changed. The fans hear it all the time and it can be a let down (no pun intended lol) for a fan to try and talk about Radiohead but all anyone has heard of is creep. For me, It’s still a damn good song. They have much better, but that doesn’t make it bad. A good song is a good song.
I saw them in 96/97 when they were the opening act for Alan is morisette. It sucked so bad. Crowd couldn’t care less except for this song. And you could tell he hated singing it. I’m almost positive it was their last gig on the tour and they just didn’t care at all. Saw them again years later on their own at msg at it was amazing. You need to do their catalog.
A Moon Shaped Pool reaction next week… where does this album rank in terms of Radiohead albums for everyone?
Please react to modern Radiohead live!!! Like a 2017 show, 2012 show, even 2006 or 2008
A Moon Shaped Pool is Top 3 for me
For me top 4-6. It's not the most ambitious or experimental one. But it's definitely the calmest, saddest and most personal/relatable one...
3 or 4. One of their best fs. Didn’t blow me away first time I heard it but it fs grew on me.
It’s 4th after the big 3 for me, it’s so beautiful
From the Basement In Rainbows
Trust us
YES. This. ALWAYS.
Seconded.
And king of limbs from the same series, a must
Yes please!!
In the beginning, Thom is loosening his jaw to be able to belt out RUuuuuuuuNnnnn.

Radiohead still exists as a band. At various times in their careers they’ve gone off to do their own stuff, but they still always come back and do stuff together.

Watch their live performance of Paranoid Android on the Jools Holland Show in 1997. It's hands down their best live performance
Yep
I agree. The all of the songs they did from OK computer on Jools Holland are amazing. I believe they did Airbag, and No Surprises, two of my favorite songs on the album.
