I absolutely hate how they're focusing on pastels now, like hello kitty or something. For example: the baby playsets...

I found out, to me TOO MUCH of anything comes in my way to play and set beautyful scenes. The mall, 3 Restaurants and stores...max 6 houses is enough.60 critters is enough! A bus, 2 cars, the cable car....ok! I want to set pictures of still-live....give everyone a home, a family....but I stopped to collect. I am not envious! For WinterScenes, I am knitting jumpers, for Balls, sewing gowns and capes....I place the furniture , where I like...not according to sets, and change clothes....One should not take it too seriously......but I love my village❤😂

FOR CONFUSED CRITTERS LIKE ME: "Calico Critter" is the US and Canadian brand, whereas the "Sylvanian Families" brand is primarily what you'll find from overseas. Long Story Short, this was because of some legal issues involving the loss of rights the company (TOMY - founder Taketora Maeda and son Michihiro Maeda) faced in the early 90s. This is basically a business rebrand or for example, like an artist's discography being re-recorded. So, "Calico Critter" is "Sylvanian Families (Taketora's Version)" XD. Hope this helps and have a bejeweled day! Thank you to @AdventuresinCritterland for this gorgeous, well-thought out and put together video! (P.S. all those long hours, any thrown out ideas or technical mishaps, have paid off, and just know that we all appreciate it!)

Aha! I’ve been thrifting toys for a while, but only recently started collecting critters, so didn’t realise that the tram set at 32:00 is sylvanian! Thanks for the wonderful video, now I want to sew a bunch of fancy clothes for mine. :o)

I don’t have any houses yet, but I’m limited on space. The Red Roof Cozy Cottage is the only house that will fit on my bookcase shelf. Now I just have to decide whether to get the new one because of the mailbox, or both so I have more living space for my critters. 😂
