- Welcome back to Critterland... and Merry Christmas!! I originally intended just to show you my Sylvanian Families / Calico Critters Christmas sets, but I got carried away...
This video took me on a very time consuming journey, researching EVERY Sylvanian Christmas set ever made!! I'm sure some are missing, if you know of any PLEASE leave a comment!
Also, please note the dates or release markets (or titles) may be off. The data was all over the place, sometimes conflicting, and sometimes sets are released one year and re-released another. If you're aware of any errors please LMK, I'll post corrections here or in the comments.
Which of these are your favorites? Which do you have or hope to get? My favorite is probably the Winter Carolers, it's just such an elegant Christmas set with the white tree, gold ornaments, and beautifully outfitted Persian cat sisters.

The rabbit is the Nonohana sister! You can tell by the fuji shaped marking on her face and her peachy pink fur. She was also released in Japan as a single figure with this winter outfit and mittens.

I have wanted the reindeer cottage, ever since it came out. I love the colors, and I want the brother and sister reindeer! I don’t think Santa has enough money this year😢. I also thank you for showing the lion cub, I see people calling him a bear. He is one of my favorites, and he absolutely looks like a lion cub and came with Mr. Lion. It was interesting to see all the sets!
It’s so frustrating with some of these sets, I wish they would release them everywhere so they aren’t so expensive to get from overseas. They must have their reasons but it’s frustrating. And more than once I have got one from Japan only to see it come out in the United States the following year. I am trying to be better about using restraint when the new ones come out! As you can see I am not trying hard enough lol!!

Wow, I appreciate all of the research you did to find all of those. And your critters look so cute. I think the kitten in the stocking is my favorite--besides the reindeer house--love those windows, too.

I know me too! Although I am sure they continued selling some of the earlier Christmas sets in the years they didn’t put out any, and I’m also sure they were smaller releases I didn’t find. Viewers have already pointed out a few so I will update the description soon. ❤️

I just got back to have an interest in the Sylvanias or calico critters . I learned about the name being different after moving to the states. I regret selling my older daughters collection but couldn’t know we’d have another baby ,13 years after our first,lol. I sadly also wasn’t into collecting miniatures back then, only dolls. Now we start almost from scratch. I love so many of the Japan releases but need to figure out how to get them. I really like the reindeer cottage!
Isn’t it interesting that reindeers are the only of their species. with females that grow antlers too?
That’s awesome, it’s so exciting rediscovering Sylvanians and all the millions of options! As far as Japan releases, I suggest KobeeJapan Museum Store online and Amazon Japan. Those will be your cheapest. eBay will be costlier, but they can be found there too. Also remember that sometimes the Japan ones are put out in the USA later, so be patient before buying from Japan and also check the Calico Critter USA site. Good luck and happy hunting!! 🥰

From the UK I can't add anything more but from Japan I can say that in 1994 6 types of Christmas tree decorations were released with babies that look like Ivory Dog and Catwood Cat to me, they also released two carry cases with Ivory Dog babies.
In 2003 it was released a Winter Lodge identical to the one with the reindeer. In 2004 it was released a set with a green Christmas tree that lights up, some Christmas accessories and Santa Claus clothes, without figure.
I recently got the 2003 ski set and it's very Christmassy for me🤭🌲!

Ugh I want the Christmas lodge so bad. Not sure if i can justify $150, but I'm sure as the years go on it'll just get more expensive :(
that was exactly how I felt. I loved everything about it, and mostly just wanted to complete the reindeer family, but the set is not worth $189 plus shipping which is the cheapest I could find it at the time. But I eventually found it in a damaged box for I think $150 shipped, along with the Christmas babies and sheep tree which was a great deal, the Christmas babies alone are going for up to $50 or more! what I do is save certain searches on eBay, and when new listings appear I am the first to see them so I can snag really good deals. Give it a try and maybe you will get lucky!
Random question do you know if the lopped ear bunnies have made their way to the us yet?
I haven’t seen them here in the US, although I haven’t had my eye out since I got them a while ago. Check out the USA calico critter online shop, I was surprised by what I found there last time! Good luck and let me know if you find them!! ❤️
