Welcome back to Critterland! AHHHH! I haven't been this excited probably since my wedding day... okay, that's an exaggeration, but I'm pretty dang excited! Today I'm unboxing my most epic Sylvanian Families / Calico Critters haul ever... not necessarily because of the volume, but because of how special the sets are to me and how special the collector is who sold them.
I open many of them in this video - and saved the rest for a future video! Stay tuned for more!

I’m so happy that you got the owls but it’s so sad to see that jack is selling his collection off and that the Sylvanian shop keepers are retiring it’s like two big losses to the sylvanian community.
It's really interesting to see where Jacc's collection pieces are ending up ☺️ I had that schoolhouse as a child, possibly for my 4th birthday in 1988. I never had the owls back then but I did buy them for myself last year. They are some of my favourites 🥰
Awesome I’m so happy you were able to get some! There’s just something extra special getting sets from a collector who really cherished them. The owls were at the top of my top most wanted list forever, it was unreal to get them! I hope in the future they re-release more of the older families that are so hard to find now, like the frogs, pigs, badgers, etc, like they did with the moles and ducks.
Wow it was so lovely to see them at their new home and what an amazing home they now have. Thank you for looking after them and I am so happy my collection has gone to so many lovely people and I love how much you love them. What an amazing vintage haul! I'm so sad Jacc is leaving collecting but it's nice to see his collection going out to other collectors and bringing such joy! I picked up a couple of bits myself that have been on my list forever!
Nice!! I feel the exact same! It’s especially heartbreaking on the heels of SSK closing shop. 😢 But at the same time it’s been exciting to see so many new collectors popping up, especially here on RUclips.
@AdventuresinCritterland SSK closing will also be very sad, been shopping with them for years! It is very nice to keep seeing new collectors pop up though!

It feels like a dream to have them, I figured I’d never get them because I can’t pay hundreds for one family. It’s these kind of surprises that make collecting so exciting! You never know what will come up!

You finally have the camper van! Woot! I first found your channel when you bought the HBA van to see if it would work with the Critters. I ended up with pretty much every toy version of that classic camper van… eventually I’ll make a video. 😅

Yesss I was so stoked he still had it to sell! I love the vintage VW bus too, it’s so iconic. We have the Lego version too!

Also I was watching some of your older videos a few days ago and I remembered how you wanted to give the hamster family’s house a setup and tour and video. Well I had an idea! My idea is that you could fill their house with a lot of white furniture pieces, you could give them a style! When you walk into their house it has a cool and different style to it!

That’s a great idea, I love it! I do have a lot of light colored and white pieces so that could look very cool. Yeah, I meant to do a setup of that, I don’t know what distracted me, but I did some other video and never got back to it! And then a while later, I got the new carport home and did that one. Thank you for the inspiration!
The tree house always sat that way on its tree. I had it as a child in the 80s and I remember that bothering me about it then. I recently bought another one complete in box because I thought I had sold/lost the one I had as a child. Of course as soon as the “new” one arrived I found my old one lol! They both sit on the tree the same way so it must have been designed that way. Btw, congrats on PC Roberts, Jacc had quoted me a price for him but I wasn’t in a position to buy him at the time. Glad he went to a good home but I wish Jacc would restore his site as a reference for the rest of us 😢

Oooh that’s so exciting!!! I found out about a week after he announced it, a lot had already been reserved (nearly everything on my initial inquiry list- the beekeeper I was especially bummed about) but I was fortunate to get some great sets anyway!
I would keep the Bobby Roberts figure in the box, as super rare and would be worth money, I hope to purchase a couple of items from him as well - he has the best collection, and love that he's from the UK too :) and an adult collector.
My husband said the same thing about PC! But it’s already open actually, Jacc would always open his sets for a photograph. But it’s in mint condition! I will probably keep him in his box though! So crazy to have #1 in the series- and he actually didn’t charge anymore for it than the other versions!! 🤯

Some great finds, especially PC Roberts. Wow! But Doesn’t it just get you that the Japanese “exclusive” Shiba dog family is now available in the US Calico Critters official site?!? Ugh!

lovely to see these items with another collector! I bought two things from Jacc and they’re in such good condition, I don’t want to damage them so have only taken them out of the boxes for photos. will you be letting your children play with these items or be trying to keep them perfect?
That’s awesome, congrats!! For me I never used to keep sets stored due to value, but recently I’ve been adding more expensive/older stuff so I’ve started doing that with certain items, like the vintage white car. For this haul, the buildings will stay out and they can play with them carefully, but I will keep the dolls tucked away. We keep the critters put away anyway, so they don’t collect dust, and I have special boxes for the extra special ones, and the kids know not to take those out unless I’m there. I will probably keep PC in the closet, or maybe not, I really feel these should be enjoyed but I also don’t want anything to happen to him!

Yeah it was pretty picked through by the time I got there too, but I was glad at least some of my “most wanteds” were still available! It still feels unreal!!

So sad he stopped collecting but also so amazing you were able to get some of his collection that’s so amazing!! Did he give a reason as to why he stopped collecting or did he just stop?
Also I wanted to ask have you seen the flora rabbit family?! I think they are absolutely adorable
He listed a few reasons on his website, including the direction. the brand is going. The pink/plasticky sets also bother me, but I can collect the older stuff, whereas he probably already had it all (or most of it).

We’re really hoping the brand will take note of this and change direction. I know companies rarely reverse course, but when they’ve lost their biggest collector/customer they need to wake up. And it’s not just adult collectors who feel this way; my 6yo has complained that sets are not as nice and don’t have as many pieces!
