I am a self taught fullstack developer, and one of the challenges I faced early in the career was to make a local ai app for an accentric client who doesnt believe in being connected to internet. That made me wanna learn how to write a bash script to check, get permissions, setup environment and run the code on a sandbox. Thats how i believe i got into DevOps

Hi Savinder! Been watching your videos for a while and would like to seek some guidance from you. Being spent 3 years in an app support role that wasn’t very technical, and for the past 3 years, Currently, in a mixed role of an Infra project where we are part of a DevOps team. However, our involvement is mostly limited to handling deployments through Jenkins/Genesis, monitoring through Splunk or fetching error logs through servers as well as the activities like looking after server health or any other network related issues. Unfortunately, we don’t even have proper access to the repositories or any exposure to the build process as well to play around. My technical skills feel like they’ve become a bit rusty as was pushed to the support-centric projects from the scratch in my MNC, and I’m worried about my growth after spending around 7 years in this profession. I’m really passionate about expanding my technical knowledge in DevOps, but I’m stuck in this situation where I’m not getting enough exposure to core DevOps tasks (like CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, etc.). What do you recommend I focus on next to break through this barrier and truly build up my technical skill set in DevOps? Should I try to upskill in specific tools or technologies within Cloud Engineering as you mentioned in the video? or is there a way to advocate for more hands-on experience within my current role? I’d really appreciate your advice on how to navigate this. Thanks so much! 🙏

There are now alot of beginner courses and competition is very high at starting level and many companies have not enough positions for hiring Freshers new to DevOps, they are instead looking for 3-4 years of experience atleast which they consider as fresher.
