This concept is so critical to the believer that Christ told a parable about a Master going on a journey and entrusting talents (money) to 3 of His servants Mt 25. The multiplication of what He gave them was an expression of His trust working through their reliance, yet one servant didn't understand the trust and suffered for it. It is the last message to be given, the character of God.

Jesus Christ is my Sabbath, for I have ceased from my own works just as God did from His on the seventh day! Hallelujah.

Jesus said it best when he said, "The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath." It doesn't matter when you take a sabbath, just that you remember to take one when needed. The sabbath (and all the commandments) is a gift from God to make our lives less stressful, more peaceful, more enjoyable. It's not the religiousness of taking every Saturday (or Sunday) off in order to be "holy" in his eyes. That's what Jesus was criticizing the pharisees for. If we don't rest from our labors occasionally, we get burned out, frustrated, cranky, miserable, and it hurts our relationships with God, family, coworkers, everyone. Take a break, God says. It's good for you. I give you permission. Spend time with me. Take your mind off life's difficulties. One day a week will make a big difference in your attitude, productivity, relationships with me and others. Don't look at it as a religious obligation. It's my gift to you because I love you, and see how I bless your life as a result.

God forgive us... 😭

1. As a young woman there was a song, Big Girl’s Don’t Cry. My brothers would never allow tears even as adults when I was grieving our mother’s passing, the day she was being cremated. They professed that I was a fake, after exclaiming that they were contesting her will. They were all for fairness and agreed that I should get her house, until then, yet they had there attorney there and wanted the money from the homes sale while she was not even honored at her funeral service.

2. A lot of things cause division in any church. On our money, our Constitution and many other places, we have laws and ways in recovery where rules are made so we can be fair and equal, yet judgements come in and division happens. I pray that we can be more inclusive and accepting of all others, instead of so sure that we know more, and lean on our own understanding of The Word. I pray for more discernment while sharing, teaching, singing and sinning. There is definitely varying perceptions and perspectives to take into account. These need to be shared, in order to seek first the truth in all things. We all have our opinions and truths at any given point and time.

It's difficult to tell the difference in pastor Goia sermons ,,they all seem to speak the same massage yet very enlighten.spirit filled message. God bless his ministry.

I fully agree that we do not love God to the degree to sacrifies our lives for Him. Moreover, we do not love HIM to sacrifies even ourselves.
