  • Is the Sabbath arbitrary or necessary? Is God arbitrary? Satan has tried to make us believe this from the beginning. But God has called us friends, and friends explain what they are doing rather than expecting blind servitude.
The Maker of all things loves and wants us. The astronomical love of God for humanity gives us all the reason we need for the seventh-day Sabbath.

Jesus Christ is my Sabbath, for I have ceased from my own works just as God did from His on the seventh day! Hallelujah.

Thanks for the thoughts and for watching and engaging! We took a look at the concept of ceasing from our own works as God did from His in Hebrews 4 here: ruclips.net/video/xADpzyKhvWk/видео.htmlsi=Hw-Tf-tLv_4FwP7e And yes the Sabbath is all about a Person, Jesus! That's what we explored when we started this series: ruclips.net/video/vvNcDYdDm_Q/видео.htmlsi=GjFH1ceQwy8manuy Thanks again for your thoughts! Jesus is wonderful!

Jesus said it best when he said, "The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath." It doesn't matter when you take a sabbath, just that you remember to take one when needed. The sabbath (and all the commandments) is a gift from God to make our lives less stressful, more peaceful, more enjoyable. It's not the religiousness of taking every Saturday (or Sunday) off in order to be "holy" in his eyes. That's what Jesus was criticizing the pharisees for. If we don't rest from our labors occasionally, we get burned out, frustrated, cranky, miserable, and it hurts our relationships with God, family, coworkers, everyone. Take a break, God says. It's good for you. I give you permission. Spend time with me. Take your mind off life's difficulties. One day a week will make a big difference in your attitude, productivity, relationships with me and others. Don't look at it as a religious obligation. It's my gift to you because I love you, and see how I bless your life as a result.

Oh no. It does matter when you take it. It's the Seven day of the week. YESHUA CHRIST kept the Sabbath. Every Sabbath day he went to the Temple to fellowship. The ten Commandments clearly tell us which day is the Sabbath. So it does matter. Respect

Beautiful thoughts on what God is wanting to give us. It's a wonderful gift! It's not about pharisaical religious obligation, you have a good point there too. Thank you! I guess the question would be whether the same meaning and value of God's love towards us as our savior and creator is symbolized by any other day besides the seventh-day? Baptism is also a gift representing Jesus' life, death and resurrection. It isn't religious obligation. And yet it is a specific symbol that we are invited to experience as a gift. If my wife takes work off to spend time with me on Monday, and I show up on Tuesday instead, am I truly accepting all she wants to give me even if I may benefit from the time off? Jesus immediately follows up with saying, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath" by saying, "So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” -Mark 2:28 . "Even" seems to imply that Jesus agreed about the importance of the Seventh-day Sabbath. We looked at this in a little more detail in the message "The Sabbath: The Lord's Day" if you have time to check it out: ruclips.net/video/QZZkCIqYYZ0/видео.htmlsi=fVDHppnyoQ-mvkDx
