    I like your ideas, hope you don't mind me offering a few ideas of my own. If you want to hide your corner on your layout you could possibly do some kind of small intermodal drop off yard. Also depending on how much you want to model with your warehouse what you could of done would be to cut the side of the building off so its flush with the end of the layout and model the inside of the building.

    Your layout looks great! recently discovered you, I model in N so your product is not viable for me but skills and ideas do scale. I have extreme space constraints so I am doing a modified T-Track system. I have so many Ideas for my layout that by using the modules I'm hoping to be able to reconfigure the layout differently every time I bring it out. I store it on a wire shelf bakers rack (2) one for modules one for scenery and buildings.

    I love it, we would stay with my Aunt in Brooklyn, 70's and 80's, and I remember egg creams, baseball cards, and mostly, the elevated subway trains that passed just below her 18 story tenement. Every night they would pass, clickity clack, one had a cool graffiti depiction of Yosemite Sam pointing two six guns. The sights and sounds are still fresh in my mind, your layout is wonderful ✨️

  • @vincenthuying98
    @vincenthuying98 26 дней назад

    Dear Doug, the tweaks to your layout you showed in this video make sense. Do remember saying in a previous comment that the track in the background had potential for a subway line. However, when it’s so hard to reach the tracks then it becomes obvious to change the plan. Humbly think the little subway diorama in the right hand corner adds a lot of ‘underground’ depth to the layout. Same can be said for the concrete viaduct and the elevated track you’re planning to build. The way the concrete viaduct visually ends the vista on the tracks beneath it is an excellent choice. Cool to see what kind of backdrop transitions you now are emphasizing on. Will definitely look forward to seeing these parts develop. Less is more as the saying goes. Also, with the layout at a relatively high level it’s much harder to see up front what kind of accessibility restrictions this level will bring. On the other hand from the straight up viewing perspective the higher level creates opportunities for more vignettes to draw the viewer’s eye. Cheerio

    Thanks for the update. I feel your pain and frustration. I to suffer from planning out the easy to reach areas and then trying to work out how to get the hardest to reach areas completed. I just tear down and get the hardest areas and then redo the easy parts to look even better than before. Keep the faith and keep up the fantastic work.

    Great updates Doug, inspiring to see things get cut and evolve. I'm doing a similar era and themed layout in a much smaller space (2ftx6ft and 2ftx4ft in an L). Yours has been very helpful getting the 70s vibe as I was born in the 80s.
