The viaduct turned out great! Watching your videos have helped me advance my modeling skills...many Thanks!! I personally would like to see more photos of the area the viaduct covered up...walls, debris, unkempt track etc. All those details look great from a distance, but would love to see them up-close! Keep up the great work!!!

Howdy! Very cool. I'm learning that with scratch building and weathering, layers are the key. Nicely done and thanks for sharing 🤠

Thanks! Anytime my weathering isn't where it should be it's because I didn't push ahead with more layers.

Dear Doug, awesome job on the building and painting of the viaduct and of your footage. Very clear and detailed shots. Love the way you used the Liquitex Ceramic Paste and the Golden Crackle Paste to create the concrete texture. Didn’t use the Liquitex Paste yet, definitely will put it on my hard drive. Ever since I watched Boomer use the several Golden Acrylic Pastes I’ve become an absolute fan of their products. The versatility of these compounds is incredible and amazing. Must add there that I also use more cheapo craft acrylic pastes, sometimes just for the sake of the experiment, or just to diversify, especially when using these products on larger surfaces.
Love the visual effect of the concrete bridge. It makes the corner look more natural and even though you haven’t got any structures yet behind it, it already enhances the depth perspective because of the literal negative space behind the viaduct. It creates that natural shade that makes such a difference when it is applied just shortly in front of the backdrop. Very curious to seeing the further progress on combining the elevated section and the viaduct. Also, for how you’re going to fill the spaces around the elevated sections. Cheerio

Thank you. I really like that crackle paste - plan on using it on structures, roads. I'll probably add some structure flats an/or photo backdrop behind the viaduct, but smaller and of in the distance.

Doug. @7:15 something you could consider to fill in that space and would make a great detail would be a transformer station for the elevated rail. It could even be up on girders above the pavement with room underneath for dumped garbage and junk. If that’s not appealing to you, I know you will come up with something even better. I really enjoyed seeing how you built this. Those liquitex products are something that I know nothing about. Thanks for sharing. Cheers Rob

Enjoyed the video -thanks! This is my first time watching so you may already use this technique, but, if not, this is intended as a helpful suggestion, NOT a criticism: Have you ever tried "scribing" to create the matching profile on the foam or your template? -ie: set a compass to the maximum difference between the lower "ground level" (as though you are using them as a caliper to measure the distance) and the underside of the horizontal foam spanning the gap, then while maintaining the compass in a vertical orientation, trace the ground elevation below the lower edge of the foam ) with the "point" of the compass while the pencil marks the vertical face of the foam. As you are tracing along the horizontal ground level, you must hold the compass "plumb" to create a pencil line on the foam the precise vertical distance off the "ground". In this tight spot at an arms length away it might be difficult but in some circumstances it can create quite accurate profile. Thanks again for sharing!

Looks great, love the weathering work. However I would have made the two arches the same size, especially the height. And added a third arch on the right, even if it might not be needed.

I don't mind the asymmetry; I've seen it on real arch bridges, but I can see how that would look good as well.

I never thought of using the band saw to cut the foam board. Better than the hot wire thing; cleaner edge and no vinyl chloride fumes. I'm a high risk for liver cancer and vinyl chloride will do that to you.

I heard he is not the real father and the mother has a younger boyfriend. I think the boyfriend barks with an English accent. Maury Povich is scheduled this family for next week when the dna results are completed, as far as the boyfriend he apparently has a family back in London and claims to only have met the mother one time at a dog park where they were never left alone for any longer than 30 seconds.
