What a realistic scene Doug.👍 I'm subbed to a concrete company's channel and they spend their lives making concrete look smooth and perfect. This is the other end of scale, where you're looking for the opposite result and this looks just as tricky.😁
Thanks for demonstrating your techniques. I heard you on a podcast talking about this and was interested in doing this but was reluctant. But now after seeing it done I feel more confident in attempting it. Thanks again.
Just came across yr site. I am a new diorama /model maker & you taught me heapz in this x1 video. I look 4ward to checking out yr other video clips. I like yr voice too and you explain issues really simple and informative. Thankyou. Catch u on the next video. Best wishes . Cheerz Denise W.A.
Looks absolutely fantastic! Thank you Doug for giving us more techniques we can use on our projects. I can’t wait for grain harvest to be over so modeling season can begin. 😉
awesome looking wall.. seen a lot of people working with plaster as compared to foam board and this method definitely looks best if you put the time into it.
Great looking walls and the technique, and it was explained very well, as always. This gave me some great ideas Doug. I'll be working these into my layout in a few places for sure.
Wow your work is awesome, i just subscribe to your channel i have a lot to watch. Jason Jenson make me knowing about your work. Thanks for your video and take care.
I'm making a concrete wall with this method. I used foam core as well, but after I removed the forms the wall stuck to the base leaving a papery mess. I had to scrape it off with a #11 blade and clean it up with sandpaper. Thought that was odd since yours didn't do that and I used the exact same materials
Hey Doug. Sorry to spam this video (Great wall btw), but could you do a video on how to use your tar paper roofing material? Including painting and weathering it. Thanks!
Hello there, I'm trying to make a scale model of a concrete seawall which is sloping and has a curved wave reflector on top of it (crest), can you recommend any way to for the mold for it? Thank you!
I learned the hard way that trying to cut foam core in a single pass with a, uh, well broken-in (dull) blade is a bad idea. It's better to take your time and do it right.
Pothole effect, you say? Looks waaay too much like a Michigan road to me. Hey, wait a minute. I think I just found another application fot this technique.....
I love that you're doing these educational videos Doug, you should be charging big money! We in the hobby are very grateful to you.
I see why you can’t duplicate walls, each wall is a work of art and can’t be copied. Really awesome 👏🏻
Excellent how-to. Would love to see more of the layout as I'm planning something similar (Brooklyn waterfront, 1930s). Cheers.

That wall looks excellent. I'm going to give that a try.

Would a spray of some mold release help get the sand out of the wall?
