Brings back memories of doing a 900 ft deadman along the Chelsea Creek in Boston. Learned so many skills during that job.

My contractor used I-Beam dead-mans driven 10' into the ground and spaced about 10' apart. From each I-Beam, he connected rods that connect to the wall. In addition, my wall has two (one, high one low) I-Beams attached horizontally to it, which are also connected to the dead-mans by another I-Beam. I'm surprised to see the deadman pipes here are only 6' long. I suspect my installation will far outlast this one.

That sounds great. Steel I beams in environment that I work in would not last super long so that’s why we choose Wood.

Dale, just subscribed. Have learned so much from your videos and I am paying close attention. About 5 inches of rain in an hour in July was more than our seawall could handle and it buckled along the waterline - probably needs to be replaced. I wish you and your crew worked Florida's NE Atlantic coast but your videos have made me aware of the right questions to ask when hiring a seawall contractor in this area. Keep putting out those great videos!
