I'd say that most structures don't even have a good loot to even search for them if you're an adventurous player and don't care about cosmetics, farms, decorations or redstone. My biggest problem with the Trial Chambers is that they don't really seem to have any coherent lore (yet). All the other minecraft structures in the game hint at a reason why they're there - the Trial Chambers seem like a feature added only because a game company wanted a PVE challenge area. They do seem cool, they just feel like a mod though, because they lack a lore component to anchor to.
nothing in this game has lore, the very Game Design Document is vehemently against implementing any true lore and instead just telling the players to "make it up yourself".
Unless they update dungeons. Then it would seem like the past people saw these trial chambers and tried creating their own chambers which became the dungeon with spawner we have. Like the trial chambers are lost ancients advanced civ build. Then also an ancient civ found these and tried to recreate them but not perfectly as they don't have the advance tools as the former, so they only created simple dungeons with similar spawners. But they also disappear leaving these structures behind.
@@SPIKEYROXAS That they are remnants of something someone built for their own purpose. (Except the old dungeons/mob spawners. Those are just weird.) The trial chambers are something someone built for the player. That's a massive difference. Up til now, the Minecraft world was something that just existed with the player thrown into it. It was weird and mysterious, but it never felt like something someone created **for** the player character. There are two kinds of world design. In one, the world makes sense in itself (e.g. Skyrim, Factorio, ...). In the other, it's an obstacle course for the player (e.g. Donkey Kong, all Mario games, ...) that doesn't make any sense without them. Minecraft used to belong to the former. But those trial chambers belong to the second category.
the wind burst potion + a million chickens = rocketless elytra launch exactly how many rockets this would save in exchange for one breeze rod per 3 take offs and a chicken farm idunno but its still a neat idea plus you could also use it as a funky way to get around a massively verticle base build
Exactly during ominous trials I hear the sound of ominous items spawning so much over peaceful music or no music at all which just makes the otherwise cool sound effect just purely annoying
@@hhff8534 What if there was dynamic music, switching between an ambient version and a combat version with more instruments? Locational music is already implemented in minecraft with biome exclusive tracks, its not that big of an ask.
Potion of Wind Charge could’ve been so much more useful. They could’ve made it activate a wind burst where the entity hits either another entity or a block. They could’ve made it activate a wind burst either at the mob’s location or where its target is whenever it lands a melee attack. So many options, and they made it nearly useless.
I found my first trials dungeon completely by accident. I was exploring a rather large cave system, excited about the amount of gold and diamonds I was finding inside, and just stumbled across some random bricks I had never seen before at a dead end in the cave. At first I thought I had found a stronghold or mineshaft, which would have blown my mind with it being so close to spawn, but when I dug into the bricks I found myself inside the strange looking structure from the minecraft menu screen. Not having any idea what I had found, because I hadn't played minecraft in several years prior to this, I began to explore and died many times before I came back better equipped to fight monsters. The seed I'm playing on is insane, amazing for casual play, and potentially really good for speedrunning. All within a 2 minute sprint of spawn are: 3 ruined portals, 2 villages, 2 shipwrecks, 2 ocean ruins, a trials dungeon (gotta find that through cave exploring though, good luck) and an ocean monument. There could very easily be more, this is just everything I have found. It is truly an amazing seed, please comment below if you'd like me to share it with you.
For me, the mace has to be the best feature. It doesn't replace the other weapons, but rather gives a weapon for unique situations that can be incredibly strong
3:50 tbh i never really had a problem finding ancient city's, in my experience all you need to do is find some very tall mountains go underground and there's just a city under there, half the time i never even had to dig, there just so happened to be a huge cave that lead right to one and for this reason i actually avoid mining in mountains cause idk if its just my luck but there's always skulk or ancient city and its a pain in the ass mining and trying not to summon a warden.

The mace is good, but only in some situations. Just like the trident on bedrock with impaling V. Situational weapons are healthy for the game because they add more variation and reason to get them.
The new copper blocks allow for new industrial builds, which is very cool, and I could see myself using the Chiseled Tuff Bricks in some kind of Aztec temple build.

Mumbo believes that the copper bulbs will be one of the most useful blocks in the near future of redstone and condensing t-flipflops to 1 block as well
21:37 Just remind you, in snapshots copper bulbs used to be even better. They had 1 tick delay before activation and they gave you a full access to odd ticks in redstone engineering, which could make your mechanisms faster, smoother and better. Kingbdogz even said that adding 1 tick delay for copper bulbs was intentional. But because -of Bedrock edition issues- 1 tick delay doesn't feel minecrafty, developers decided to remove that 1 tick delay and make copper bulbs less usefull than now. They didn't even add this delay back as an experimental feature, like they did it with bundles. Still can't forgive Mojang for this move
If Steve is in Smash 6, which he likely will be, they better put both Pigstep and Creator in the game. Or maybe Nintendo will do it if they make Ultimate Deluxe. Bottom line, these songs need to be in Smash
I like how the update is more of a general update, it has the trial chambers as the main feature but there are tons of other smaller stuff and I think that’s fun
I love that they are referred to as Sherds as that is the proper terminology. Archaeologists refer to pieces of pottery as Sherds rather than shards. And since most of the sherds are found via ARCHAEOLOGICAL digging, them being called Sherds makes sense
It makes the already stupid archaeology mechanic more stupid. Sherd sounds like a combination of two different words for feces. I’m not calling it that and it is a broken piece of a ceramic-like material, it makes more sense to call it that in my mind. Archaeologists can frick off. Calling it a sherd is being the “Umm… actually” guy.
Here’s a fun fact: if you pay close attention to the items cycling through the Trial/Ominous vaults, it will eject whatever rewards cycle through it while it’s open, this includes the one that it first opens on. Som if you time it right, you can get whatever you want
Can't believe the crafter and copper bulb are at the top of the list, but the witch farm buffs go basically unnoticed. The crafter and bulb can't really be used without redstone you know, and you go through redstone a lot quicker than you'd think, so having an automatic witch farm is extremely useful, especially since they're 1000% more efficient now.
Overall this update was great, but man next update needs to pull some serious weight in changing the core game Most of the new stuff in this update was sadly side content at the end of the day, and rare side content at that

If you do eventually update the enchantment ranking it should be noted that Blast Protection giving you knockback resistance will extend to Wind Charges and make them do absolutely nothing.
Wind charges aren’t that useful in combat only for movement so blast protection just makes you worse cuz you can’t use wind charges anymore lol
@@donutstudios6353it is useful in combat sometimes, for example in bedwars.
16:36 is by far my favorite personally, but I respect your opinion. You are so funny, and this video was amazing!
I live in a massive damn Savannah and can’t find it I want it so bad
My biggest problem with the Trial Chambers is that they don't really seem to have any coherent lore (yet). All the other minecraft structures in the game hint at a reason why they're there - the Trial Chambers seem like a feature added only because a game company wanted a PVE challenge area. They do seem cool, they just feel like a mod though, because they lack a lore component to anchor to.
Feels more like a server minigame than a mod, tbh. But in any case, it fits into survival like a hammer into a glassware cupboard.
nothing in this game has lore, the very Game Design Document is vehemently against implementing any true lore and instead just telling the players to "make it up yourself".
What lore do the other structures have exactly?

I was fulling expecting a random jumpscare later in the video.
I turned my volume down some lol and checked the comments

The infested potion working on Allays, who are practically immortal, is really good for xp farms because you can make a large number of silverfish
the wind burst potion + a million chickens = rocketless elytra launch
exactly how many rockets this would save in exchange for one breeze rod per 3 take offs and a chicken farm idunno but its still a neat idea
plus you could also use it as a funky way to get around a massively verticle base build
Trial chambers wouldve been number 1 if the spawners gave us some combat music, it wouldve made the ominous trials more intense
Exactly during ominous trials I hear the sound of ominous items spawning so much over peaceful music or no music at all which just makes the otherwise cool sound effect just purely annoying
I don't think this would be fitting for Minecraft. It would get annoying quick
@@hhff8534 What if there was dynamic music, switching between an ambient version and a combat version with more instruments? Locational music is already implemented in minecraft with biome exclusive tracks, its not that big of an ask.
The vaults give you combat music what's so different

Potion of Wind Charge could’ve been so much more useful. They could’ve made it activate a wind burst where the entity hits either another entity or a block. They could’ve made it activate a wind burst either at the mob’s location or where its target is whenever it lands a melee attack. So many options, and they made it nearly useless.
Minecraft 1.99 before silksong
17:30 I was about to find where you live.
15:19 is so true (it took over 10+ deaths trying to get 50+ damage just for it not to work)
For me, the mace has to be the best feature. It doesn't replace the other weapons, but rather gives a weapon for unique situations that can be incredibly strong
The trident and mace are both epic weapons, both have great enchants and utilities. The mace is pretty OP tho

26:12 Did he say… tastes?
I mean, it does taste good, it's a bit sour tho
The wind charge apperantly makes Elytra flying insane, you throw it at a hole of chickens, kill them with a sword and jump in with your Elytra.

“Some are bound to be worse than others”
3:28 interdimensional roller coasters oh yeah now that sounds awesome
as someone that has enjoyed minecart roller coasters as far as all the way back in 2016 on bedrock mobile they're always so fun to traverse
1.21 as far as recent Minecraft updates go was actually very good. I’m not too sold on how “modded” the trial chambers still feel, but I’m sure they’ll grow on me!
EDIT: *ALRIGHT I GET IT!!!* If you want to lecture me about how “everything” feels modded when they first come out, do it to someone else, as my opinions are not changing.

some guy on a minecraft server im on said, and i quote:
"its just more content to be added by a multi billion dollar company.
if they really cared about balancing they wouldnt have added the mace wich isnt even that hard to get
dont even need to travel dimensions
its not just that the idea of mobvotes is bad for the community
the mobs in the mobvotes are bad
they are created for exactly one purpose
they dont refine old mechanics"

Bro. Does anyone care, it's more content. Yell that him that him that whayM? Tell him that I wah yssid

I found a word related to "sherd" in my Bible reading the other day that made me think of this and also of a whole version of a sherd, and I looked up just the word "sherd" just now, and it is a broken piece of ceramic pottery, which checks out on all accounts.
14:27 hey, odyssey, not to be like, invasive or insensitive or anything but like, i'm a little concerned. are you by chance a looney tunes character
The excellent cinematography mixed with some good comedic timing makes you one of my favorite Minecraft YTers
Erm their Shords, not Sherds.
Although I personally think 16:36 is the best, I appreciate your viewpoint. This video was fantastic, and you are quite humorous!
I would dock the Trial Chambers for how easy they are to cheese with skeleton infighting or lava buckets...
The Trial Chambers are still very cool though. (:
Yeah hostile variant of zombie and skeleton
Bogged skeleton swamp 😊biome that gives you poison ☠️ and bogged shooting to be badly poisoned 🤢
Stray a snow ❄️ skeleton that gives you slowness
Drowned a zombie that is underwater rarely spawn in ocean ruins and also drowns get burned by the sunlight unless they hide underwater for protection
Husk a desert zombie that doesn’t get burned by the sunlight
The Trial Chambers are definitely cheesable but I actually found them a lot harder to cheese due to breeze constantly blowing you around but yeah water buckets make it so much easier

Short MK related video idea: Ranking all Toad courses - there's only 6 Toad courses in the Mario Kart series, retros included, yet they feel distinct aesthetically and gameplay speaking, so I think it may be interesting to compare the different Toad tracks. Keep up the good work!
@[12:57]: The Ominous Bottle still doesn't exactly protect against the griefers or the extra careless though...
What is bro doing to the time just say 7:34
Mumbo believes that the copper bulbs will be one of the most useful blocks in the near future of redstone and condensing t-flipflops to 1 block as well
[02:23]: Okay, now this is actually funny.
that would be an awesome hiding spot just get yourself into space and just glide with your elitra
As some with a massive breeding pit for cows, I know what i must fo
Still can't forgive Mojang for this move
the spotted wolf looks messy, but thats because its designed after a real wild dog
The bolt armor trim is really good in my opinion. And the new paintings might be one of my favorite additions in the update.
That jumpscare actually made me choke on my water
what jumpscare?
That whole creator segment I was screaming at the screen going “YES YES HE GETS IT YES”
If Steve is in Smash 6, which he likely will be, they better put both Pigstep and Creator in the game. Or maybe Nintendo will do it if they make Ultimate Deluxe. Bottom line, these songs need to be in Smash
I thought the same thing with Precipice when I first heard that disc
I don't think we're ever getting another Smash game
@@HungryWarden More like ARSEologists.
Here’s a fun fact: if you pay close attention to the items cycling through the Trial/Ominous vaults, it will eject whatever rewards cycle through it while it’s open, this includes the one that it first opens on. Som if you time it right, you can get whatever you want
11:27 is it just me or does oddessy sound a little miserable here lol

Can't believe the crafter and copper bulb are at the top of the list, but the witch farm buffs go basically unnoticed. The crafter and bulb can't really be used without redstone you know, and you go through redstone a lot quicker than you'd think, so having an automatic witch farm is extremely useful, especially since they're 1000% more efficient now.
Overall this update was great, but man next update needs to pull some serious weight in changing the core game
Most of the new stuff in this update was sadly side content at the end of the day, and rare side content at that
