i think it would be cool if they added suspicious sand and gravel to more structures, ANCIENT cities deserve some archeology as they their entire point is being ancient and dark.
I think the less a structure is used the more archeology can help. When I look at it i think this is the list from least to most for how much a structure gains from archeology .1-the Stronghold and Nether fortress need it the least as they are important progression structures in the game, though I still would like it 2- Ancient Cities, Piglin Bastions, and End Cities all have incredibly special loot already and so are lower priority (sculk, the sneaking enchant, the silence trim!!, the netherite upgrade, and the elytra come from these. You get it) 3- super common structures like the buried shipwreck, pillager outposts, mineshaft and mob dungeons would actually be very improved with suspicious sand and gravel. It could also be a creative way to give mineshafts and mob dungeons there own trims. And finally 4- rare structures with less value. These include the jungle temple, woodland mansion, and ocean monument, admittedly seeing a way for the woodland mansion to have sus sand and gravel organically is weird, but the ocean monument (with the trim and gold) could really use more of a loot table, and the jungle temple desperately needs something (though at least it did get an armour trim which actually made me very happy). Now I will say that while structures like the nether fortress and ancient city really don’t benefit as much as something like the poor jungle temple, it would still be entertaining in its own right, as digging around while trying to remain quiet is still a fascinating idea.
this may seem like a dumb question but would this be ranking each value because if not then automatically the ones with value like fortune or efficiency are more versatile than ones that dont like riptide or mending (ik that mending is most likely the best even in versatility its just an example)
Calibrated sculk sensors do not pick up sounds from other frequencies, which does not trigger the annoying cooldown. Granted, it’s not perfect but at least sculk sensors are usable now
I think the problem with finding trail ruins could be fixed by implementing a map traded by a cartographer that points to one, like mansions and ocean monuments.
The biggest problem with universal wool dyeing is it's just that, for wool. Only things made out of wool get the universal dyeing treatment. they could've easily made it for glass, terracotta, glazed terracotta, concrete, and concrete powder, but they didn't.
It makes the most sense for wool though. And makes early game much easier. The other blocks are pretty easy to get in base form/dont make sense as universally dyeable
Although you could have certain sounds/vibrations ignored using comparators before, the skulk sensor would still always hear them and because of that, you run the risk of the sensor hearing a not wanted sound and then missing the wanted sound during it's cooldown. Whereas the calibrated one completely ignores all sounds apart from the one it's listening for.
I think it would be cool if they added a sapling that looked similar to the cherry tree sapling but with green leaves. The bonsai tree look is great, but you might not want every single build to have the cherry blossom motif, especially considering real life cherry trees only bloom for a couple of weeks.
0:55 Dammit Odyssey! I clicked on this video purely to see if you’d prefer the Howl Sherd or the Cherry Fence Gate. I am disappointed beyond belief, and you’ve committed a sin of the highest degree.
making skulk sensors "a bit easier" is an understatement. Skulk was such a niche redstone component because it was near impossible to use effectively. Yes, you could filter out certain sounds before, but the extremely long cooldown + the fact that it's triggered no matter the scenario, even if it wont send a signal, meant that any use of it as a detection system was nearly impossible. You couldn't, say, make a trap that's activated by breaking a block because placing a block, walking, eating, etc would block the input for 2 whole seconds. The calibrated skulk sensor is practical.
I finally got enough scrap to make a netherite ingot a few days ago, and I was completely unaware about the netherite upgrade. So I went to a bastion for the first time a couple days ago, and got knocked into lava. I had a sharp 5/unbreaking 3/knockback 2 diamond sword, fort 3/eff 4/ unbreaking 3 diamond pickaxe, infinity/power 5/ unbreaking 3/ punch 2 bow, armor trimmed chestplate and leggings, a stack of gold, and 9 normal golden apples...all gone because I was too lazy to go back for fire resist potions

A couple gripes/suggestions I have with this update: (maybe in the 1.20.1 update?) -The sniffer got so much hype, and now what? You’re just telling me it adds some useless decorations, without ANY, even niche, functionality? I guess they look nice, but the pitcher I can only imagine fitting in some sort of jungly/prehistoric style build. The torchflower is just a hyped up orange tulip. A suggestion I have is to make the pitcher plant deter arthropods, because that’s what they do in real life (they are carnivorous) so that bees/spiders/etc don’t go near them. A bit of a niche function but it could be useful for making bee farms that keep the bees in an area without looking like the inside of a toilet. There also appears to be a scrapped vine type, which sucks because it looked like it would be a great match for lush cave builds. Also, like the video says, Mojang, please make the sniffer unearth pottery sherds. A way this could work is that the sniffer would always dig up a sherd when in its respective structure, therefore omitting rng from the equation. - Remove the netherite trim. It’s just annoying. Or better, make it so that netherite gear crafted without it loses its enchants, and that would allow it to keep it. It’s just a way of making the trim still functional without upsetting servers. -Camels should spawn naturally in deserts. I’m not aware if they only spawn in desert villages because I can only seem to find them there, but they could work like horses. It would just add so much needed life to the desert biome, and being a village exclusive kills the mood. -Still love the update though! Don’t take this as a rant/insult to the update, just a list of some suggestions for its features.
I've seen people use the Pitcher Plant's turnip like pre growth state as a nice decoration. Using string to stop the growth, so that's another thing going for it. Mojang really should add an item that stops plant growth one of these days.
man i came to this video to see how the cherry wood fence gate 😳 compares to the howl potery sherd 😳 when you said you werent going to compare i broke up crying 😭😭😭😭😭😭
1.20's archeology features are actually so forgettable that I actually found a trail ruins and thought it was a generation glitch because I completely forgot the structure was even a thing.
I think netherite upgrade templates are fine. Netherite was already relatively pretty easy to gain, despite the fact that netherite was supposed to be the penultimate of accomplishments. Locking netherite behind a rare item makes netherite that more sought after, and the ability to copy them would make an interesting monopoly of sorts that would be a fun concept in survival servers. Piglin bastions are now more like endgame nether fortresses, where instead of housing an item that gives you access to the next dimension, it gives you access to stronger gear. Bastions we're already pretty useless in the endgame, since you already would have plenty of ores and resources at that point. The nether already needed something to encourage adventuring through it. Having netherite Pre 1.20 tells other players that you're good at mining netherack, but having netherite post 1.20 tells others that you earned it. You mastered transportation through the most dangerous environment in the game, you fought through a fortress full of strong mobs, and you're good at mining netherack. Also, netherite should say that you've gained all the resources before it and have climbed the ladder through the different levels. Now, you need wooden tools to get stone, stone to get iron, iron to get diamond, diamond to get obsidian, and now gold to get through the bastions unnoticed and gain netherite. Before, gold was just a weird neesh, separated from the ladder of gear. Now it's basically required to gain the highest level.
I completely agree with armour trims being #1 they’re the feature I was most excited for because my favourite things in games is always customizability
I really love the new armor trims, it just helps you customize your look so much. The main interesting part of my skin is my character's face, having no eyes and tusks, and the rest of the skin is kind of bland, but the armor adds so much to it, I absolutely love it.
This is a very well made list! I was a little disappointed to see the Sniffer so low, but by a practicality standpoint, it really should dig up more than two exclusive seeds. I will say I really like the new plant designs, but new items being dug up by the Sniffer is very likely to come in a future update.
So minor correction for sculk sensors the reason the calibrated is different from comparators is comparators let everything above through too. This means calibrated sensors and comparators have similar uses but major differences. The change to amethyst is kind of boring and not useful from what I know probably could be used well in traps.

I think the Cherry Grove would look 10x better if it had snow on the ground. But instead we have regular green grass, which breaks the immersion for me.
I could see how the petals would bug out on the snow, but all they would need to do is add a separate block that consists of snow with cherry petals on top. Breaking it would give you cherry petals, and breaking with a shovel would give you a snowball and cherry petals.

Archeology shouldve never been the sole focus of an update though. When it was first announced way back in Minecraft live on 1.17 most people saw it as a side or filler content that somewhat compliment the overhaul of caves and pretty much glossed over it. Yes the caves overhaul was definitely more bigger and prominent then the archeology which is why it was mostly ignored but archeology now is such a boring and skip able feature. Would've wanted something else over it
ok. so where you are wrong for the skulk stuff. is that before it was not just harder. but plain imposible to work with. So before the skulk would activate and then we could filter the sound. now its filtered directly on activation. meaning you can spma sound making stuff without ever actuivating it. until the right sound is emited. as well as being buffed in every way shape and form. (because the original one need to not be too strong because of the warden).
Ok, my turn. 1(best): armour trims. Simply... Yes. Customizable armour? I'll do anything. 2: Trail ruins. A new structure that you can mine through, find incredible new crap and basically find brush operated fruit machines. 3: Urns. The DECORATION IDEAS. And finding their shards is so fun to do. 4: Calibrated sculk sensors. I like redstone so this should be fun to use. 5: Sniffers. I'LL NEVER FORGET YOU, TUFF GOLEM! 6: the Relic disk. *Banger.* 7: Camels. Basically a rarer horse that I genuinely forgot about for a while. 8: Netherite upgrade templates. *Ew.*
The devs really couldnt think of any other item the sniffer could dig up? That's actually so lazy, it's basically a useless mob due to it only being useful to get 2 random flowers that aren't even that cool looking
Mumbo Jumbo: this is the best edition to minecraft ever, this will revolutionize restone as we know it This guy and all other ppl making similar videos: its kinda usless
Personally i REALLY wish they gave us a way to duplicate pottery shards like they did with the trims. Pottery seems like such a neat thing but i just don't ever see myself fully using it due to how out of the way and annoying getting the different shards would be if i wanted multiple.
Sniffer could easily be a #1, if it gave new plants to make unique potions with, new crops, new wood types, and more decorative blocks as well as some special plants with brand new and unique features.
2:28 You cant say "its intended purpose/use aside, ___ blank is pretty useless" Also its pretty big. With each addition to redstone, 2 things happen. 1 You are able to do something you couldn't before. 2 While you may have been able to do something before, it's far simpler and cheaper, making it able to be used more commonly, compactly, and in much more reasonable manner. The second is really important because it can save, space, resources, and allow for more complex machines without as complex circuitry. Loving your content btw
Some of these items are useless but they have alot of variants so you would like to collect them all even if they are useless mainly armor trims and potery shards which makes you explore
I'm surprised that you still haven't done a video about Minecraft's Super Mario Mash-Up edition. I know there's nothing to talk about but I personally would really like to see a video about it. :)
Nice video. Here's an idea(you don't have to do it but at least consider it): Why not use Castle SMW Fortress Boss SMB3 from Smash Bros as outro music?(You can only do it once if you want)
They should raise trail ruin generation up 1 Y level so they’re somewhat easier to spot, and they should make suspicious sand and gravel take much longer to mine than their regular counterparts.
My man really forgot about how big it is that you can make wood from bamboo. Now more funky tnt glitched for a wood farm. Just make a simple bamboo farm and you can make unlimited chests
I just wish they actually made it useful, do you remember mob C that was scrapped? They could bring that back, and have the sniffer work in tandem with that mob.
@@fyreexe4121 1.14 had villagers so it’s one of the most relevant, but it wasn’t the biggest. Just the most jam packed with revolutionary features. 1.20 has the most pleasurable and none-game-changing features people have wanted (eg: hanging signs, PINK WOOD, sign changes, more plants, archaeology, armour trims) These features don’t drastically change the game for every player, but it’s a lot of fun stuff to seek out, albeit kind of insignificant. 1.13 was the biggest update ever at that time and it revived Minecraft, so it feels like it was bigger than it actually was. But really it was some cool mobs and coral. (1.13 was big, but 1.20 is a lot bigger). 1.17 and 1.18 COMBINED were bigger than 1.20, but not when separated. But since caves are a very important part of Minecraft, these updates changed features experienced by all players a lot of the time. So 1.17 (and separately 1.18) had more of a *big impact* on the game, but 1.20 has a *bigger list of features*. 1.16 was bigger. Like seriously, what was Mojang on when they made that because they need more?
@@lexibroadbent1467 i agree with all of your points tbh, i just think that 1.20 is quite underwhelming. on paper it has a lot of features but in practice, not many of them are that significant. and yeah, not every update has to be game-changing (1.15) but for the 'Trails and Tales' update i did expect more.
@@lexibroadbent1467 i personally lump 1.17 and 18 together since they're both the cave and cliffs update (just two parts) but your point about them being too far apart and as such people experiencing them separately is fair enough.

@@bryanp5843 nah I like archaeology, I’m glad it is in the game now instead of later
Always a great time when Odyssey Central uploads
True dat
The spawn rate for silence makes sense. It’s the best armor trim so might as well make it difficult to obtain.
I immediately noticed the Tears of the Kingdom shrine music around the 10 min mark. Nice vid!
Personally, one of my all time favourite features are armour trims. They're SO COOOL
ok. so where you are wrong for the skulk stuff. is that before it was not just harder. but plain imposible to work with.
So before the skulk would activate and then we could filter the sound. now its filtered directly on activation. meaning you can spma sound making stuff without ever actuivating it. until the right sound is emited. as well as being buffed in every way shape and form. (because the original one need to not be too strong because of the warden).
So basically with the Netherite Smithing Template, you pulled a Ceave Gaming, where he outsourced the Super Bell from his main power up ranking video.
Ok, my turn.
1(best): armour trims. Simply... Yes. Customizable armour? I'll do anything.
2: Trail ruins. A new structure that you can mine through, find incredible new crap and basically find brush operated fruit machines.
3: Urns. The DECORATION IDEAS. And finding their shards is so fun to do.
4: Calibrated sculk sensors. I like redstone so this should be fun to use.
5: Sniffers. I'LL NEVER FORGET YOU, TUFF GOLEM!
6: the Relic disk. *Banger.*
7: Camels. Basically a rarer horse that I genuinely forgot about for a while.
8: Netherite upgrade templates. *Ew.*
Seeing you upload more minecraft ranking videos makes me excited for the definitely real all advancements ranking video
Fun fact: bamboo blocks take 9 bamboo pieces, but shows 16
The devs really couldnt think of any other item the sniffer could dig up? That's actually so lazy, it's basically a useless mob due to it only being useful to get 2 random flowers that aren't even that cool looking
There not Lazy, Jeb_ makes the decisions
What about a music disc ranking video?
Another update, another update with no bundles again. I just wonder if they ever will
Mumbo Jumbo: this is the best edition to minecraft ever, this will revolutionize restone as we know it
This guy and all other ppl making similar videos: its kinda usless
Personally i REALLY wish they gave us a way to duplicate pottery shards like they did with the trims. Pottery seems like such a neat thing but i just don't ever see myself fully using it due to how out of the way and annoying getting the different shards would be if i wanted multiple.
that bird being called freddy fazbird goes so hard i love that for them
Sniffer could easily be a #1, if it gave new plants to make unique potions with, new crops, new wood types, and more decorative blocks as well as some special plants with brand new and unique features.
all of those ideas were thrown in here: 🗑️
man chiseled bookshelves are so good i have been waiting for them since i started playing the game
“Suspicious sand and gravel- “*among us sound* and then an ad
Darn it now I want to see an Every sapling in Minecraft ranked video
2:28 You cant say "its intended purpose/use aside, ___ blank is pretty useless"
Also its pretty big.
It'd be cool if the pitcher pod and the torch flower could function as an infinite water source and a super bright torch light source, respectively
9:15 I was expecting for you to add a datapack that adds a freddy fazbear head so when you press the buttom, it plays the music box jingle
Odyssey central thank you for making us funny and good edited videos
I would love if they add smash able pots where you can put loot and make it get destroyed by a sword in one shot for adventure maps.
Low key forgot camels existed ngl
The torch flower already doesnt look like its real life variant so making it glow isnt a logical leap
Some of these items are useless but they have alot of variants so you would like to collect them all even if they are useless mainly armor trims and potery shards which makes you explore
Pottery Sherd
ITS CALLED SHERD?
@@Muho_is_meyeah!! In the game, and it's accurate to real life :D
My favorite armor trim is silence and I especially like the amethyst and Redstone colors on armour trims
The bamboo planks are good for backroom designs.
Torchflower should emit tiny bit of light.
I'm surprised that you still haven't done a video about Minecraft's Super Mario Mash-Up edition. I know there's nothing to talk about but I personally would really like to see a video about it. :)
The prize she'd always looked like a parachute to me
And friend, to me, looks like a plunger detonator
This is amazing! Earned a new sub
I like the smithing template, but I think it's only real drawback is the difficulty in duplicating it. But, at least it gives netherack another use.
Nice video. Here's an idea(you don't have to do it but at least consider it): Why not use Castle SMW Fortress Boss SMB3 from Smash Bros as outro music?(You can only do it once if you want)
The sniffer should be lower.
My Minecraft addiction has been enhanced.
I’ve got to be honest. The only thing that hyped me up is the Sniffy boi cause he’s goofy looking
I just wish they actually made it useful, do you remember mob C that was scrapped?
They could bring that back, and have the sniffer work in tandem with that mob.
@@EmperorPenguin1217 that would be sick. Mob C was pretty awesome so I would love to see it either way lol
I agree with netherite trim thing never being added, I'm pretty sure netherite I literally unobtainable on bedrock now.
Hi I love your videos you should make ranking every enemy in smm2
The music you played at 5:57 was nostalgic
I just consider netherite armor to have been removed from the game, simple.
I like how the Vex trim makes you look like an Evoker.
I love how Mojang took into consideration Multiplayer and made it so that you can make sure trolls can't change your signs
Rank every single fighter in Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Vanilla tweaks added mob head sounds to more mob heads. its truly awesome
0:04 It’s a close second… (to 1.16)
i’m sorry…you think this update comes anywhere close in terms of size and quality to 1.13, 1.14, 1.16, 1.17 or 1.18?
@@fyreexe4121 yes. 1.18? Seriously?
