How to Adjust Spoke Tension after replacing spoke on Hybrid Bike
How to Adjust Spoke Tension on Hybrid Bike after replacing spoke the Easy Way.
This video is for anyone who needs to adjust their bike spoke tension after replacing the spoke on the back wheel as in the previous video.
The method used is basically you tap each spoke with a spanner or some other similar metal object like the 9mm Tubular Box Spanner I used here to get it to ring a note.
Start anywhere around the wheel and using your tool of choice get it to ring each spoke both sides as in the video. You can tell very quickly which spokes or spoke is too slack or too tight just by the sound. You can then tune your spoke by tightening or loosening using the Bike Spanner Spoke Wrench as you woul...

    I changed the alternator and two days later, when it rained and the car got wet, the main problem showed itself. When I heard a ticking noise from behind the steering wheel and the charge light came on and the alternator stopped working but when the sun hit and it dried again everything got better, strange, water is getting into the relays behind the steering wheel. Wheel.... I am telling my experiences so that others know not to replace the alternator by mistake. My car has been used very little, I wanted to know why the alternator broke? The main problem is rainwater entering inside, not the alternator

      Having checked into the circuitry for a car with Aircon there is a thermal fuse (has small metal case) which is in series with the fan resistor (coiled wire which Half's the voltage hence the fan speed under the control of the ECU) if it goes open circuit (blown) the fan will run a full speed all the time. Either replace the thermal fuse with the correct rating (192 degrees) or as a complete assembly with the fan motor resistor.

      Thanks for the positive feedback. As the fan comes on immediately then I would suspect the temperature sensor is faulty. The temperature sensor for the fan is part of the thermostat housing. We had the opposite issue with the fan never running. I would recommend replacing the complete thermostat assembly which should include the temperature sensor. See the video replacement thermostat housing on Ford KA. Hope this helps.

    • @yuckybear5026
      @yuckybear5026 3 месяца назад

      According to the Haynes manual the Rocam (Duratec) engine does not have the IAT (inlet air temp) sensor. IAT is mounted in the air filter housing on the l/h side of the Endura pre 2002 OHV engine air filter cover. Duratec's have a TMAP sensor that combines both the IAT (temperature and manifold absolute pressure) located on the inlet manifold. Hope this helps thanks for your feedback.

    • @chassmith
      @chassmith 3 месяца назад

      According to what I have read the code P0113 for high sensor input is likely to be an issue with your TMAP sensor (models from 1999) located near to the idle air control valve but obscured by the inlet manifold even with the air filter assembly removed. As I haven't (as yet) had this issue I can't advise further but if the Haynes manual says for best access the inlet manifold should be removed this is NOT a DIY job. Take a look with the air filter removed and see if you can locate the sensor near to the idle air control valve but if the Haynes manual says it is difficult then best pass it to a trained mechanic IMO. Let me know how you get on best of luck

    I changed this bulb last September and actually managed to get it in from above, without removing the entire housing. I did remove the rear plastic cover entirely in order to have room. I was then unable to get it back in place, and ended up turning the wheel to the right and undid the four screws holding the wheel well and engine cover trim in place. Which gave just enough access to put the cover in and reinstall the metal clip, which had come undone due to my fiddling. I did consider removing the trim like you've done here. But seeing as every time you do end up breaking one or two clips, and I don't have any replacements on hand I decided against it and went for the route above. Where would one acquire these clips? Is it a universal type or specific to the Ka? Oh, and if ever you need to do the left bulb: you'll be pleased to know there's just enough space there, I didn't need to do any trim removal :D Lovely video! Brought back memories :D

    Hello, Just like your thermostat housing this video was of great help to me! I made to sure to sufficiently tighten the sensor for instance, had no smoke escape when I started her up. On my vehicle I had both the code P0030 for the sensor, which is now gone, but alas also a warning for an open circuit/circuit malfunction. This will be a bit trickier to diagnose and solve. Moreover, an aftermarket bluetooth radio I had previously installed is no longer turning on. It might be unrelated but as it occured after fiddling with the HO2S yesterday, and it happened as well a few months ago under the same circumstances (though that time disconnecting and reconnecting the wires saw it turn on again; no such luck this time. As I've noticed on other videos you manage to find quite detailed and specific technical information on this model I was wondering if you could point me to the resource(s) where you've found them. Also any tips and guidance on diagnosing the open circuit would be much appreciated! Swapping out a part is no longer daunting, much in the same wiring completely is, but diagnosing would already be something. From there I can always decide to hand over a precise and detailed mission to my mechanic :) Thanks for the video in any case! the sensor install was a breeze. Kind regards, Pim

    • @yuckybear5026
      @yuckybear5026 7 месяцев назад

      Pleased all went well with replacing the sensor. As regards the radio, check the fuse and fuse holder F26 (F35 for models after September 1999) try inspecting the electrical connections at the back of the radio for damage or dirt. The audio circuit operates from the ignition switch only. Regarding the open circuit / malfunction error I would have thought you would have another error code number as well. If you have no other symptoms and this error is only displayed by the OBD analyser, I wonder if it is a false error. Best check with your mechanic. Regarding technical information, I do refer to the Haynes Owners Workshop Manual 5567 which has all the circuit wiring diagrams which is quite useful. Hope all goes well with the car.

      @@yuckybear5026 After replacing the sensor I no longer get the fault code for it. It does give me a P0171E0 system too lean code. I'm planning on changing the fuel filter as I suspect it hasn't ever been done. There's also very minor carbon build up on the throttle body which may be letting air leak in? Thanks for the info on the fuse for the radio. Is there a visual tell? Also on the old lambda sensor there was some green copper oxidation on two of the four pins. Might this be the open circuit? Would I attempt to clean this? Or have my mechanic swap the receiving connecter for this sensor?

    • @yuckybear5026
      @yuckybear5026 7 месяцев назад

      Regarding P0171E0 system too lean code, could try cleaning the connector first with switch cleaner. I suspect you could be right to replace the fuel filter, but as this is located under the car so you need to jack it up with axle stand while wearing safety goggles as risk of fuel splashing out. Might be best to leave this with your mechanic. The radio fuse is ‘marked up’ behind the fuse box (F35 is in the bottom row, second from right) below the driver’s side of the facia or check the voltage at the radio connector with a meter.

      @Pimpemans 6 месяцев назад

      Very interesting about the car engine temp while driving. This explains the almost immediate overheating of the engine when the car met with very slow traffic on the highway with the fan not working. Thanks for your positive feedback, yes very satisfied and worth the effort.

    My KA, had to have new rear brake hose fitted. After a few days my handbrake warning light started to flicker When going around a corner, or going over a bump.? After Checking the wiring diagram, it appears that the handbrake light Is wired into that brake switch on top of the reservoir. I did check the level, and it looked ok. But i double checked Again with a bright torch, and it did need a top up. Worth a good check , as that float is very accurate. They could not have topped up enough during the repair.

    Lovely video, and impeccable timing as I've recently replaced the expansion reservoir as it did have a crack in the rear. And now the car is leaking less coolant, but it's still leaking some around the thermostat housing. I was concerned about the last hose in the back, good to see here that you can pull the housing forward to get to the fastening clip. Cheers, this helped a lot, was considering having my mechanic do the installation, but I'm sure I'll manage :) Unfortunate for you about the fan. Looking forward to the next videos!

      @@yuckybear5026 I got it fixed! In the end it wasn't too difficult. The only bit I really struggled with were the metal clips, and especially the one on the hose in the back that connects to the radiator. And getting it off is easier than getting it back on. But I managed! Once you get a good grip on it isn't difficult, getting a good grip on it is exactly that though. Cooling system sorted, thanks!

      When I did it some of the old parts of the old valve broke off inside the hoses and needed removing with long nose pliers before fitting the new part. It is hard to push back on the hoses which must be pushed on fully before moving the clips up over the connection pipes of the new valve.

    Many Thanks , that was a very good video. Just one point , for any future repair. When removing the electrical connection You only need, to push the spring clip and pull the connector off. On installation just push the connector back on with spring still in place. I have been down the same road, I hope that's helpful.

    Hi there, can you tell me from the thermostat to the HCV which hose connects to which side. I think I mixed mine up. I currently have the thermostat lower hose going to left of hcv and top hose from thermostat to right hcv.

    • @yuckybear5026
      @yuckybear5026 11 месяцев назад

      Hi there, according to my information the right port (in) of the HCV comes from the far right end of the thermostatic housing and the return connection from the HCV left port (out) is to the second port in from the right of the thermostatic housing. So your connections look correct. Hope this helps.

    My tank seems to be leaking also and it’s boiling over. Iv replaced the cap and it’s still overheating and leaking. Thinking of replacing the expansion tank to see if that works. Or else it’s likely a head gasket issue

    • @yuckybear5026
      @yuckybear5026 Год назад

      Keep the cap for the new expansion tank. Recommend you purchase the new expansion tank direct from a Ford garage same quality as the original to avoid sub standard (copy) replacement where the cap doesn't close or seal tightly. Ford original part was about the same cost as those advertised on the Web.

    • @yuckybear5026
      @yuckybear5026 Год назад

      I don't know the length of the drivebelt but as this varies according to whether air conditioning is fitted and the belt tension is automatically adjusted by the drive belt tensioner, best inspect the condition of the belt for missing sections and deposits in the grooves along the length and if in doubt replace the belt with a correct one from a trusted Ford dealer.

    On my Ka I took out the battery, removed the intake and took the altenator out that way. Mine has aircon and removing the manifold is a hassle with one bolt in a difficult place. Basically you have to remove the entire bumper. Worst car I have worked on next to a Corolla.
