  • Ford KA Bulb Replacement Procedure (Ford KA - 2006 Model)
This video is to help you replace a faulty front Dipped Beam bulb in the head lamp assembly.
Unfortunately you will need to remove the headlight assembly by unclipping the bumper to gain access. Bumper clips can be found on Ebay, link below:
    www.ebay.co.uk...
Note that the top bulb is for dipped beam and used most of the time at night so most likely to blow first. The other lower bulb is the main beam or high beam indicated by the blue light on the dash so less likely to fail.
Note that care should be taken to avoid a burn if the bulb has just blown; also make sure all lights are off before disconnecting any cable plugs.
Bulb type is H7 for the dipped beam, available from any good auto factor supplier and some garages.
For your information only the other bulb type is H1 for the main beam. If you are in any doubt carrying out any of the work here recommend you seek the services of an experienced mechanic.

I changed this bulb last September and actually managed to get it in from above, without removing the entire housing. I did remove the rear plastic cover entirely in order to have room.
I was then unable to get it back in place, and ended up turning the wheel to the right and undid the four screws holding the wheel well and engine cover trim in place. Which gave just enough access to put the cover in and reinstall the metal clip, which had come undone due to my fiddling.
I did consider removing the trim like you've done here. But seeing as every time you do end up breaking one or two clips, and I don't have any replacements on hand I decided against it and went for the route above. Where would one acquire these clips? Is it a universal type or specific to the Ka?
Oh, and if ever you need to do the left bulb: you'll be pleased to know there's just enough space there, I didn't need to do any trim removal :D
Lovely video! Brought back memories :D

Very interesting, useful feedback for the future. Thanks pleased you managed it. I have added a link in the description to suitable bumper clips on Ebay. Hope this helps.
