What Have I Got Myself Into Now....???
it looks cool but step side beds make zero practical sense
Nice truck and music choice
GM had that great front suspension. I had a Malibu with a 307, plenty peppy and good fuel mileage.
Wheres the squid monster at 😂
Cringe
👌🏼⛽️
Need to tuck those front tires in😉
Great year for all the trucks and cars. All class.
My tires wear older than that , but I used it as a grocery getter 30mph max Then my wifes engine blew, got a new set the next day, and use my versailles as my daily for 3 months.
Marge stupid autocorrect even in canada
There's a movie made in 2014 called bullet towards the end I think large is in it
Its screaming please paint me.
It's been painted that way !
Ditch the ugly wheels for some painted steelies. That looks like it would be a whole Lotta fun
Very cool , but I hope it's there partly for more suitable wheels.
I love old stepside pickups.
Mr. B. Here ! 🍸🍸👀😎👍. Did you work on that one before or am I mixing it up with a different vehicle? If not it looks cool , did it have a body swap ? ?
That is good to know. Thanks !!!
I like it and I don’t 😂 problem with the handbrake?
There's no e brake components whatsoever, nothing, nada, zip 😳
The 1958 front clip is growing on me. As for trucks, thinking tri-four.
Drives nicely for its era and doesn't seem to have any dangerous flaws. Drive and enjoy it in nice weather for ten more years without sinking any more $ into it.
Always enjoy your content....you and Tony cool still?
Thanks for the Willwood caliper information.
I hope by now that you know I really appreciate your videos and that the algorithm knows that ! lol. You’re at it and doing what you do AND you take the time out of your day to record your day and share it with all of us ! Thank you !
U hot rodders dont like the twin i beam, but as far as us farmers are conserned there is nothing better
Oh yeah, sweet little truck. I like what they did with the interior. Perfect driver, lucky find.
Most of these regular cab short bed trucks came with an inline 6 originally. Did this one?
Quite possibly. I don't think the 302 was an option for the truck back in the day
Nice truck! Thanks for keeping it alive. I had a 74’ f100 when I was a teen, sold it because I was trying to save money. One of my biggest regrets was selling it because it got butchered by some hacks
There for a minute I thought you had gotten in a boat on a lake and cruising across. LOL Things happen, right? Nice bump-side. I like that color too. I have a question or three... I bought an 88 Town Car and pulled the 302/AOD and put it in my 66 SWB F100. That's as far as I've gotten on it. Some say you have to use the dash or some computer to make the trans work, others say no. What say you? I got stuff to convert the engine to MAF but with the advent of aftermarket FI kits, I'm thinking it would be easier to just scrap all the old factory stuff and put one of those on. Opinions on which one? The steering box you used came from where? I missed that. I could go back an rewatch but I've already typed all this...LOL Have a good one!
The sixes don't get a lot of love but I think they worked better for truck duty, especially with a three speed. Of course this one isn't on truck duty any more. With so little wear and that painted grill it looks like it started life as an "old guy" truck kept around for occasional runs to the lumberyard.
Yes, she's had a good life !!!
Good example of a good old girl. Nice colour as well. Cheers 🇨🇦
Thanks man and thanks for watching!!
Nice to get a vehicle to work on that isn't a roiling pile of junk
Yes it is!!
Thought you were back in NZ there for a moment!!
lol pretty quick trip😁😎👍
The twin I beam was for pickups that worked In my opinion the best suspension for a pickup that works ever made. A good alignment by someone that knows what they are doing and a sway bar is all they need. I think they still used it in some fashion through the 2010s simple very few moving parts better turning radius than any short long arm as long as they were rear steer. just my opinion
I think you're right on money there! The twin I beam was a great truck suspension, the haters are those that expect it to handle like a race car. Can't have it all ways 😁😎👍
Nice truck, you should talk the owner into relocating the spare tire would look even mo better.
Yeah it's a bit different being in the bed like that ........
Good job kiwi
Thanks man and thanks for watching!!
Back where I came from, there are a bunch of guys who chase Coyotes in trucks with dog boxes in the back for their Greyhound dogs. Those folks prefer the older Ford pickups with the Twin I Beam front ends because are the only ones that survive running through the fields, creeks and valleys. Rarely did one see a Chevrolet or Dodge out hunting Coyotes. The front cab mounts often rust away and drop the cab down and make the steering difficult. I had one do that and it ended up shearing the rubber link to the steering box causing me to go off the road and wrecking the truck😢. Would buy another in minute if given the chance.
Coyote hunting ! That's a new one on me😁👍😎
@@kiwiclassicsandcustoms9160 its rather a niche of hunting. Bunch of drunks get into pickup trucks with boxes on the back of their trucks filled with Greyhound dogs which they release when they see a coyote and the Greyhound’s run the Coyotes down. They will drive the trucks full speed through ditches, over rocks, through barbed wire fences and through pastures chasing the Coyotes. Obviously they tear up a LOT of pickups doing this and the Ford with the Twin I Beams suspension lasts longer than the other pickups. A lot of the “hunters” use 4x4 Toyota pickups as well but even those get torn up quickly.
@@CrippledEagle you rednecks know to party 😂😎👍
Love old school, zero dash padding!
No air bags... we die like men !!!!! 😂🤣
Yes sir I have a 72 Chevrolet (purchased from the original owner in 1976). I fixed it up the same way and drove it for some years (had it registered for the first thirty years) It is presently in the paint shop (will probably never see the road again). It has a thumper engine and turbo 400 update along with a stiffer rear axle ratio. Other than that is is stock and it came from the factory with 307 automatic A/C and power brakes. Like this Ford it is a driver. That's a nice truck and the rust in it is from going on 55 yrs of the mud and the blood and the beer.🥸👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That is a beauty. IIRC, the brake pedal even in '67-72 automatic trucks was very narrow compared to the '73 and up. It might have even been the same width. Sometime after 1973 even the manual trucks got a wider brake pedal - not sure if it happened with the design series change, but I drove late 70s F-series trucks with both and I would bet it was the same pedal then too, only wider. Once you're used to the wide pedal, or cars that used a different pedal between manual and auto, the 67-72 auto trucks do look a bit strange in the footwell with all that empty space to the left of the brake pedal. I'm less sure about the engine, but my 1970 F250 had a 360 and a T-18 manual, and there was something funny about the throttle linkage on it as well - bracket mounted to the firewall. I know it wasn't changed over because my grandfather bought it brand-new, late in his farming career (he was 67 at the time and probably only farmed for five more years). Does looking up the VIN tell us anything about your customer's truck? All I know for sure is that it didn't come from the factory with that HEI.
Yeah I'm not a fan of those cheap Amazon HEI's, especially on a Ford!!
All to hell on this one, aye mate?
😁😎👍
That's a nice truck. I always liked that body style and the 302 is a good little motor so that's a nice combination.
She's ticks all the boxes 👍😎😁
Nice truck and nice too see it wasn't way overdone with upgrades.
I liks this Ford pickups!
I'm not a Ford guy. But that's a nice truck
Well done, gentlemen. And that is a very good-looking truck. Was the steering box and brakes a fair price, I ask because that is an awesome upgrade. Great video, brother, even with the gear malfunctions, lol. Have a glorious weekend all of you.
I really like that era of Ford pickups, and that one is a bit special being a Custom Cab .
Nice truck mate. I wish my power Steering worked that well. You need an Aussie made 3 Footed Monster camera mount mate.
Thought you had gone back "down under" for a sec there Kiwi.😂😂😂
It pretty much looks like it would have back in the day! Lovely wee truck.
Always loved those trucks . Had a 72 when I was 16 years old and later on had a 69 with a 302 4 speed short bed.
