awesome guide, can i use this for my 3.5" drone? much more easily to comprehend than other videos , straight to the point . thanks! btw the function "allow arming without fix" means if you arm it before locking in gps , then throughout the flight it will not accept if it detected satellites am i right? so in order to make sure this is fine , you will have to wait for the satellites manually before you arm to fly ?

One thing I'm just unsure on cos I'm new and researching before I buy anything. But the GPS doesn't need to be constantly powered then? From the USB? So once I power it for a bit via usb it's fine, then I just plug in the drone rc battery and GPS is now just running without power going to it? From the USB? I'm lost if I'm honest but I think I'm missing something beyond this video on that. The rest of the video looks good though!

For each betflight version, is it mandatory that the quad should tune in the same betaflight version? Example, if my cinelog35 has currentt version is 4.3 and if I upgrade to 4.5 betaflight, does it mean I must have the same 4.5 tune already in cinelog?

In BF4.5 the compass is used for GPS rescue. Make sure your compass is working properly or disable it. Flying with a compass that doesn't work properly can cause major problems in flight.

BF 4.6 is going to have altitude hold/position hold. Looking forward to that. Im not experimenting with a pre-release but I've seen a test of it and works pretty well. Is there a way to set the altitude mode on a switch on my radio? I destroyed my 4 inch LR last week testing GPS rescue settings. I had 8 sats locked. Sent it out like 50 feet up a couple hundred feet away. Flipped GPS rescue on, flew back perfectly and started to land, but all of sudden the drone just disarmed itself maybe 30 or 40 feet up and crashed upside down ruining 3 of 4 motors. I cant figure out for the life of me why it disarmed on it's own while it was landing. Anyone have any thoughts why that happened?

Set it up. Instructions were great. Everything worked when I activated failsafe. However, when powered my remote off it fell from the sky. I assume there is a setting in controller to use betaflight but I can't find how to do it.. It seems useless unless the controller knows to use betaflight settings. I use Mambo Ethix with Crossfire module. I have looked in settings and it only has 2 options cut and FS POS. Any help would be greatly appreciated :) P.S.. Anyone reading this.. If it doesn't work when you turn off your controller then it won't work if you lose signal. So do the final step to make sure it actually works. Mine didn't :(

I just flash my firmware to the latest one 4.5 BTFL and in betaflight my rx (crossfire) can communicate with my drone like for eg roll/ pitch/ yaw etc. And on the modes tab I can arm, disarm, toggle between the angle, acro and horizontal. But then when I take my drone to the park, hook it up with a new battery pack and try to arm it. It won’t arm it at all. I see that it flashes blue to green when I toggle between Acro mode to Horizon mode and to Angle. What I did in betaflight: Arm the quad in 180 degree angle. Tried turning off the air mode. Didn’t work. Tried turning back on the air mode. Didn’t work.
