The Immortal T antenna will work for ELRS, but you might not have the same performance because crossfire is 915mhz and ELRS is 2.4ghz, at least that was what I was told by some ELRS guy, so I use the TBS Tracer antennas, because Tracer is 2.4GhZ.
I was worried about that and thought the same thing. But so far in my testing the link has been solid out to 4 miles (will post that video soon). During my turn around at 4 miles I had a micro failsafe flash bad rx or rx loss but didn't seem to last long enough for stage 1 or 2. The drone kept moving fine. other than that I haven't had any issues thankfully.
@@andrewmedia3568 DO NOT use the immortal T with your 2.4 elrs receiver! You are slowly burning out the telemetry transmitter on the receiver! They are pretty strong, up to around 100mW and that is slowly burning it.

Yes definitely. Remember that’s 50 amps per motor. So 200amps total. And depending on motor kv and battery voltage you won’t even come close to hitting that max. Most batteries can’t supply that for more than 1/2 of a second and then voltage sags. 50 amp esc is plenty if your motor kv and battery voltage are correct. You can use the same motor kv I did 1500kv and 6s or look at other 7” long range bnf, what motors they use and what input voltage they say to use. Hope this makes sense and helps.
Great video. Im building one based off your guide. What's the least amount I can do to test the motors? Want to male sure it's working before i continue to build it.
well really you need at least the motors soldered to the ESC and the flight controller connected so you can plug in a smoke stopper to protect from possible shorts. Once you did your first plug in with the smoke stopper and it powers on without blowing the fuse, then you can plug in just the battery and go into beta flight to set motor/ESC protocol and set motor position and direction. once that is done your good as far as motors go. you can always de solder and re solder to fix mistakes.
@@andrewmedia3568 I forgot to order one of those. I'm doing it now. Also do you know the length of the four screws that mounts the ESC and flight controller? I don't think those screws came with the kit. I subscribed to your channel.
hey i was wondering if i buy a iflight Evoque with 03 air unit to use it with my dji controller 2 can i get it with the tbs receiver just for when i get a tbs module at a later date? like will it still be able to bind to my controller 2 when i get it with tbs as easy as i would with the controller 2? thank you :)
To quickly answer your question yes you can. That bing said, if you buy the TBS version once you get the drone you will need to hook up the O3 using all 6 wires from the O3 plug. that will be RX, TX, 10v/vBat, G, SBUS and signal/ground. The extra 2 wires SBUS and signal/ground are really what is needed to use the DJI controller. The TBS version might come without those wires hooked up or the wires missing from the plug. so you might want to buy an extra O3 plug that has all 6 wires. Of course you will need to change Betaflight settings for the DJI controller to work and then again when you switch to TBS. There are tons of videos explaining how to wire the O3 for using the controller 2 and how to set up in Betaflight.
Doesn't the o3 have a reciever on it? If i just want to use dji goggles, controller and air unit, would i still need to attach a receiver, also does your build provide longer range than the stock dji ecosystem
Yes the DJI O3 has its own internal receiver. you don't need an external receiver if your going to use the DJI controller 2 with the O3. Running ELRS at 1W radio output will give your longer receiver range, video range is the same regardless of your radio eceiver.
Thank you so much, would you trust the stock dji products with flying around mountains? what is the max range you think you can actually get out of the stock dji products?@@andrewmedia3568
Yes and no, Technically different antennas have higher or lower gain, higher gain being better for long range. But in my experience thats not what gets you better video range. I really appreciate that very much.
I too am learning LR quad flight.
Got some great stuff here and looking forward to surfing "Mt.Olympus", all the way to the glacier! That's a long way too!
😃👍
HEY man did you save money bye doing this
Depends on the parts you buy. But generally yes you save between 200-400$ building your own. Look at the price of an iflight chimera pro 7” they are like 1000$. You could do this same build now for like 6-700$.
thank very much @@andrewmedia3568
