Finally a good adv motorcycle jacket that doesn’t cost a lot! 👍
It's normally those who have limited miles on a motorcycle, that misuse the term "entry level".....I'm 70...I've bought over 30 brand new motorcycles in my life, from Harleys, a couple Beemer and everything that burns rice...One thing I've learned, it's not displacement or horsepower that depict a bikes purpose...It's how the rider plans on applying the bike to his preferred riding style and enviorment...I presently own a 2022 650 klr adventure, ( my 7th new klr over a 30 year span).. I'm considering this bike, not because I'm a beginner, rather because I would like something lighter and maneuverable for short runs..And sometimes the smaller displacement bikes ( lacking a dash play station), brings guys of my generation back to a simpler time, when the most basic of machines, offered the purest experience of riding....So a little advice for the young rookie riders, (especially those that enjoy sharing their experience on utube), get a grip on the intended and optional use of a bike before designated it a "beginners" ...No disrespect to this fine gentlemen..Nice review..
Thanks for another nice ride with upbeat commentary! I just bought a '24 AT AS ES DCT. (Ain't that a mouthful of alphabet soup?!) Haven't ridden the new bike yet. (Nor any AT.) However, I'm super excited to pick it up from the dealer and ride it home!! I sat on it at the showroom floor and immediately liked it. DCT sounds like something new to try. I definitely wanted Barkbusters, a centerstand, and a toe-shifter. So they're installing those options for me. This will be a couple of notches up the "modern machine scale" from my '22 KLR650 ABS. Your enthusiasm is infectious for sure! Ride safe and we'll see you out there.
My first bike was a 1972 Honda CL100 that I bought used in 1984. It was my only means of transportation, so I rode it everywhere, including the DC and Baltimore beltways. The traffic was insane, but there was always other slowly moving traffic in the right lane, and I never had any serious issues. I wouldn’t recommend taking a small displacement bike out on an interstate, but at least here in the east it’s legal and possible. Back roads are definitely a better option, though.
First off, great video. I often ride solo, but I ride more with my son these days.
This was a fun ride. Thanks to your other AT AS ES and DCT and, even TransAlp, videos, I made my decision and just purchased my '24 AT AS ES DCT!! It's now being outfitted with some farkle before I ride it home.... It will be my first AT or DCT ride. So, I'm studying up on that - a lot. I noticed the new machine is spring Bridgestone AT41 Adventure tires. They look pretty street-biased to me. However, that's OK, because I'll be learning to ride AT, as well as DCT, on the pavement before venturing off pavement. Nice and easy, as you have suggested. Thanks for all your really fun and informative videos!!
Where did you get the white front fender? The dealer? I know the 2025 now comes with it. Edit: never mind, I watched your mods video 😊
Looks like alot of fun
Where did you find the front fender extender? I can't find a model that shows fitment for the AT '24 model year.
is there a way to get cruise control on one of them?
I rode the Chattahoochee BDRx on the opening weekend on my Pan America great route. One of my favorites no doubt.
@@mudcatstravels9751 nice, I want to do it again but on my big bike
@ I was down in the same area in June on my WR250r. I love riding the area no doubt.
What’s this sound track?
how far is this from popcorn overlook off 76? where is the entry point for this trail? thank you
@@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA not sure of the over look. But I show the route in the video
@ hmmm musta missed that part. ok
I believe Popcorn is the roughest FSR in Georgia right now. So much fun to drive, prob want to avoid in a bike after rain as there’s tons of large puddles
I like your videos. I’m curious why you titled the video incorrectly. Wouldn’t it help you get found more when people search the Chattahoochee BDrx?
thank you, and yeah thats a good call. I'm going to try that, 🤝
Well done I hope to find this section.
The kitted out Rally , is a very cool bike . Only those who have ridden in these places can appreciate what a relatively nimble bike can offer .
I don't like golden color forks in Scrambler 400x . Instead can i change black color forks ? Is that can be done ?
Thanks for sharing, looks like it was an awesome ride 👍
Love your vids! What navigation are you using? I have a carpuride…do you think i can do the bdrx with it?
It looks like he’s just using his phone in a burly case with the Gaia GPS app
I am using a carpuride, link in description
@@adventureundone are you able to still get cell signal when your out deep in those trails?
Is that a CRF300L? I didn’t hear you mention the bike you were on. Thanks for the video, I need to get up there!
It says 300 Rally.
yes it's a 300L Rally
Tusk dsport rear mt21 front
What music were you playing around the 16 to 17 minute mark? It was beautiful piano music.
I agree.
This is awesome, and very similar to what I plan to do to mine when I pick it up next year. Quick question, do you plan to get radiator guards? Thanks for the video man.
I believe he needs to up the pilot jet, his bike has too much deceleration pop. Pilot jet too lean.
Are you using the base? It has clutch?
Hey its great video, love that exhaust mod. Can you share link for your filming gear, your picture is great, no wind noise either, pro stuff. Now it looks like stock 1989 Transalp, ufff. Someone should do something about the front light as well, and then it's gonna be great.
606 and MT21
great video, think the headlight guard if you flip it the triangle would align with the triangular triumph logo
It can be used for offroad gpx?
Guy, your information videos are fantastic! Each discussion or adventure is jamb-packed with pearls of experience and/or wisdom. I just purchased a new ES DCT, and your discussions really helped me m and the decision!! Thank you, thank you!! Ride safe!!
Good choice. They neutered the new X model. Goodbye to class for 2024. They stripped the Ohlins shocks, the Brembo brakes, the high-end paint job, lost an inch of suspension travel, no cruise control, a cheaper dash, ect. They reduced the price a little, but not enough to make up for the loss of all those high grade parts, IMO. No thanks to that. Never seen a bike that got stripped so hard. Too many reviewers griped about the price of the bike, disregarding parts quality, so they neutered it, Smh. They should keep this 1200 bike premium IMO, the 900 or 400 are for the tighter budgets. Not everyone will even fit on an XE model, your only option if you want the better spec parts. Love all the free mods when you buy used though.
It's nice when professionals review motorcycles. This review was fantastic. I had a 2016 CRF 250L, and although I enjoyed it , it was too tall, and the seat was too narrow.I purchased a 2020 Yamaha XT 250 and liked the seat height, but it was a little underpowered, and I was always searching for 6th gear. This will be my next on and off-road machine. It's just tough to find them. Thank you!
i tried them all…and now only run Tusk DSports. They are stiff, but they last 5000 miles, have great street feel, and bite in all conditions. plus, they’re inexpensive. Run them on a DR-z400s.
The integration of CarPlay works great and is fabulous when you learn the controls. Switching between screens (bike to CarPlay ) is fast and easy to do plus there is the bottom monochrome display that always shows your gear and speed anyway. I’ve added a small CarPlay wireless adapter from Ottocast and now I just leave my phone in my jacket and ride. Can’t live without it now.
Hello! Can you share the link of that product?
Where did you mount the Ottocast?
@@Hookmeister I used a USB extension cable and it lives in my handlebar bag. I am intending to route the cable under the plastic cover on the tank and stash it under there as a more permanent fixture. Just wanted to test reliability before committing to that. So far it has been perfect for over 2000km of riding.
I'm running the AX41's on my 300l 19/17 inch wheels and Motoz Dual venture front Rallz rear in the OEM's. I keep the smaller setup on more frequently due to how versatile it is and the fact that it's been so dry. (dry offroad)
Awesome review. I’m deciding between the transalp, the vstrom, and the tiger 900 gt
All manual bikes are capable to quick shift, up and down! Come on! Grow some balls!
Who needs a quick shifter hardware?... Any manual transmission can be used to quickshift stock, upshift and downshift.
This will be my next bike, ES without DCT. I might finally be ready to move on from sportbikes, the African Twin seems to check all the boxes for me. Good coverage on the bike in the video, thanks.
Solo is the only way I go. My trips are my therapy for my PTSD.
'On these bikes all you're going to here is the exhaust' Really? I can barely here my 300L Rally going down the road.
Anyone else bothered by the gap between the front fender and tire?
Mitas E13 (Trail XT+) front, Mitas MC23 rear. After trying tons of different ones, I found these to be the most aggressive off-road tires that don't trigger anxiety attacks on asphalt as well as don't start vanishing the next day.
will get my very first own XR150L this saturday so exited!!
I have the Shinko 244 (Golden Boy) tires on my DRZ400. They have roughly 1500 miles on them. I was hoping for 2000-2500 miles. The front one barely shows wear and the rear one is almost done. To me, they are great on the dirt and gravel. The grip is excellent. They aren't so good in sloppy mud. They are ok on asphalt/chip seal. I would not recommend them for anyone who is riding on paved roads due to the fast wear. They are just too soft. I bought a Tusk D sport to replace my rear tire. I'm hoping it will last longer and dig in like I hear they do.
I ride a KLX300 and love the motoz dual venture front and a rallZ rear. I ride mostly off-road in northern Colorado.
All good to hear your perspective. I have found it's all about where to compromise. Just ordered Motoz Tractionator Rall Z 130 / 80-17 Rally Adventure Rear Tube Tyre and same 90/90-21 for the front of my Himalayan 450. Being 17" options were somewhat limited. But I have to get off these factory tyres, which are OK in the dry/wet tar, but deadly in anything resembling wet grass or mud. I Normally would run 606 rear & MT21 front on my dualsport/Enduros. So I have high expectations, giving a bit away on pavement, but I don't go hard on tar or concrete. Cheers from downunder. 👋
If I heard you right you said you're running 27 or 28 psi in those tires? That's way too high. I never have more than 20 in my tires and usually around 17-18 psi and I've got a crf300l. You're losing too much traction with 27 psi.
On my 300 l is kenda k270 on the rear and mt21 on the front and love it
This bike u can leave it alone, or add mods , & all ways have a new bike 😊
