Try the forkshields , cause thats where the bufferting comes from. You can try to put something like a bag on the hole around the forks, it will be instantly better✌️
I found your channel approximately 1 month ago and appreciate your honest reviews about the AT. I'm definitely looking forward to additional videos regarding mods and service costs to your bike. Thanks for sharing.
I'm curious if your results would change on the caponard if you put the seat in the high position. I'm the same height as you, I ride with the seat in the high position. I also plan on buying the seat concepts comfort xl tall seat. Unrelated, I reached out to Madstad to verify their screen (listed as 2020 and up at the time) fit the 2024 ATAS and they assured me it did, so i bought their 20" option... Well, it didn't fit. Mounted fine, but mirrors hit the sides of the screen with an inch left in handlebar movement being cut off. Now it's listed as 2020-2023. They offered zero information as to if they would develop a system to fit the 2024, and still don't have it listed as a bike they want in order to develop a system. It's a shame and huge disappointment because it's wide enough to block the air that you were not liking so much with the WRS screens near the top of the front fairing. I'll be eagerly awaiting your next discovery for a better screen. Also if you happen to test them out again with the seat in the high position that would be rad; if the results change for the better, I'll probably give the WRS a go. Thank you for all the content, I appreciate all of it and respect your opinions greatly.
I own a 2024 ATAS 6MT and can confirm the current upper wind deflectors offered by Honda do NOT fit. I ordered them and had to return them, they should fit the 2024 base model though according to my dealer.
@@razorwired130 to my knowledge, no word. Dealer has no info. I can't find anything on OEM supply websites. It's a shame how Honda has handled the model refresh, and even more of a shame how it's throwing the aftermarket for a loop too.
This is great content AU. Thanks for the reviews. You do the testing and we all reap the benefits so thank you. The irony of Honda saying that the windsheild has been made two handed to stop us doing it on the move which makes it safer when infact 99% of people are now just taking both hands off the bars to bring it up making it a whole lot more dangerous than other one handed designs (Tracer 9) (Triumph Tiger) is laughable.
So are you saying at the end of your video that the caponord would be better if im 6'1 with seat in high position than the touring windshield on 2024 africa twin as
I also bought WRS screen. 2 best things I have done for the air comfort is OEM side deflectors and fork deflector (don't know which made bigger difference, because I mounted them at the same time, but it's much, much better)
you have the fork deflector for a 2024 adventure sport? I'm trying to find one, but don't see one for the 2024 model. If you have the 2024 one for adventure sport, or know where I can order one, please provide the website. Thanks
I have the standard Africa Twin and my factory screen is 16.5” tall, but is a little more consistent in width that what yours appears to be at the 42 second mark. It seems to be 12” wide and the bottom and only increases to 13” at the top. I have a 3.75” Puig medium clip on top of it that has worked really well so far. Also, when I sat on the Adventure Sports with the 19” front wheel and then immediately climbed on the standard model with the 21” it seems you need less windshield on the standard because the dash instruments are higher in my sight line. As to your question, yes I do believe I will switch out my windshield at some point. I’m thinking I’ll check out Puig because they seem to be a little thicker and I’ve had good experience with them in the past. That’s said I’m open minded if something is better out there. Appreciate the thorough review of the WRS. The vibration in the larger one surprised me.
Given its touring capacity, wonder what the cost and weight of an electronically adjustable windscreen would be, similar to what Honda offers on a Goldwing?
Finding a good windscreen can be a real bummer (been there/ done that). As "MtbPoland" commented below, getting a Wind Deflector can be the answer. Also, just saying I hear the lower-priced Transalp 750's stock/ factory windscreen is supposed to be pretty good (the reviewer "Nothing To Prove" was pretty impressed by it).
Hi/ I saw your vid of the mods. Very nice. Quest: Heed bars. I'm thinking about them too/ so much better then OEM/ mount to frame etc: but/ coming from Poland. Was that a good experience? Outrageous shipping? Duty fees? Receive them quickly?? Tkx a lot.
I ride my 2022 with the windscreen off. It is loud as can be but no turbulence. Just installed a huge givi tonight and it is quieter but turbulent. I can't win! I don't care about wind on my body but I definitely don't want to go deaf. Crazy loud even with ear plugs. If I can't figure this out, I am most likely gonna sell it and get a naked bike.
@rkr6237 That is a good question. I think what is happening is that the wind coming off of the front of the bike is hitting the bottom inch or 2 of my helmet. If I come off the seat about 2 inches or stand all the way up, it gets super quiet. So I think it's more so a matter of where the wind is hitting the helmet and not quite so much about the amount of wind that is hitting the helmet. I need to try to go take a naked bike for a test drive. If the wind is clean that hits the helmet, it should be quieter.
@@jonlough3074 can I ask how tall you are? I’m thinking about an AT as my next bike but have some reservations and one of them is the issue you’ve pointed out.
@rkr6237 you bet! I am 6 feet 4 inches tall, about 240 pounds. I ride with a shoei rf1400 helmet. I have had the standard windscreen and the honda tall windscreen. Both screens produced buffetting but I don't get any riding without one. The windscreens were also loud but not as loud as riding without one. My brother is 5 feet 9 inches and he said it was better with the windscreen on. The bike has been great otherwise.
@@jonlough3074 thank you. I’m 6 2” so might face similar issues to you. Hope I manage to get a decent test ride in to get a better idea. Have you tried clipping extensions to the existing windscreen to raise the height of the screen even further?
The windshield conundrum.... Im in that same boat with my 21 AT. Good info, thanks for posting. I need to change out my stock unit. I tried the honda tall AT windscreen but top of windscreen is directly in my line of sight...very annoying

Any word on when the upper and lower wind guards are going to be available for the 2024 ATAS?

Honda stock with a Puig windshield deflector, you can adjust the deflector based on the day and type of riding you are doing

Yes , this is true. It is pure business laziness. Honda thinks it has improved a lot, but there is still a lot to improve.
The only flaw is that gap when you raised the wind shield.
