It truly shocked me on how different these two bikes are. What trim are you getting and why?
I bought the 24 ATAS ES for the gas tank and smaller front wheel. I come from the world of motocross, I have other bikes to satisfy my off road needs
@@BEAST5409xbl agree, heck most AT’s see mainly road, and the way fire roads anyway.
How does it compare to the Transalp?
I’m getting the base model, manual transmission, with that sweet auto-blip quickshifter.
Thanks for doing the review
That was a very good video! I wish everyone had the sound quality you had on this video while riding. Great comparison video!
Sound quality on this video was spot on. Thanks for that comparison.
Honda should have made them both same base price. One with 19 and another 21 inch wheels, one with lower suspension travel and another with higher. And from that base they should have added possibility of adding what rider wishes for increase in function/price.
Now it's like that for majority of riders (road riding) it's just much more expensive to get a more focused bike.
That's really what I don't like about Honda's politic.
Same thing they did with Transalp which I almost bought. It has tubed tires and no cruise control although it's more road focused bike. In order for Transalp not to undercut the sales of Africa Twin, of course.
For those reasons even if I want to add couple of grand for Africa twin (15k) it's just not good enough as I need a few more grand to get a road focused Africa. Really bad in my book.
I actually almost gave up on Honda and thinking of sticking to Tracer 7 GT as it gives lots of stuff for less.
Hoping Honda will change it's approach in the future.
I am glad they didn't go the way of BMW...with all the option packages. I personally appreciate the 2 different models and all-in pricing (aside from some bolt on accessories).
@@coolhandchunkBMW is a "premium" brand for rich people... They do the same with their cars... Base car is like 40 grand but when you add basic tech in and some other stuff to make the car normal and not naked, you look at the price and suddenly you have yourself a 70k car... Its disgusting and predatory. Audi is even worse!
Hey, what is your audio setup ? no noise whatsoever absolutley love it how can i replicate the clear helmet audio you have ?
The Adventure Sport has the higher comfort seat as standard. The standard AT has the standard seat. I have the comfort seat on my 24 ATes and the comfort seat is the way to go ref comfort (also have 20mm bar risers).
How do you think the AT base model would be for touring. What are the disadvantages for touring compared to the AS? Perhaps the narrow seat would be uncomfortable?
I have the 2024 AT1100L ES, I am 5 ft 11”, 32” inside leg, I have the following OEM and Puig accessories fitted, Comfort seat (which is thicker and adds additional height), upper and lower deflector kits, centre stand and the Puig MULTI-ADJUSTABLE VISOR 2.0 fixed with screws, and 20mm bar risers. I find this to be great for touring, and I prefer the smaller tank. The Puig multi-adjustable visor 2.0 in conjunction with the adjustable screen the bike now comes with, and the OEM deflector kits, is brilliant (bearing in mind this is an adventure bike and not a goldwing). I got the screw through screen one, as I prefer the permanent mounting solution over the clip-on version. The ES suspension is plush, even in the Tour mode.
Just a shame Honda didn’t fit the AT, ATAS and the NT with shaft drive.
I prefer the small size for moving around town and some trips and because of the cost. very little soil. Do you think I should necessarily go to the big one?
go for a smaller bike, dude. ktm 390
Now I really don’t know which one to get, I’m still a rookie only been riding for two years, only five 9 30” inseam.I’m going to the Honda dealership tomorrow. I need to sit on them.
Adventure Sport
Nice comparison. Where are you located, it look very beautiful?
We were riding in TN/Smokey Mountains
can you get the 19 inch front wheel on the base AT?
No.
Why's this video just 4mins ? 😕
It still weighs 507 pounds with fuel.
SMDSR-
I gave up on Honda, saved up, and bought a BMW 1250 GS Trophy instead. No regrets, at all. None.
Hated every minute I had a 1250, total snoozefest
