Voge DS 900 X This can’t be right!!
Good morning Dave, yeah cold at that time, here we had minus 5 degr.C....brrrr....but I will go into the garden to cut some bushes. First a coffee. I agree with you about the 350, I keep my Bullet as standard as it is, the hunter has got some mods. The racks and higher seat from India, and cases from a friend. Luckely for me, he bought some wrong ones for his bike. Wirh some modifications it fits at this rack. Now we need a little more temperature, stay all safe.
I'm watching this video through my Ray Ban vario focal photo chromatic specs.... they cost a small fortune.
Just had to get out myself yesterday before I started climbing the walls. A few hours out into North Wales. Quiet roads. Fabulous. Heated gloves, grips and gilet all on full. Toasty. Feet were like blocks of ice though when I got back 😂😂
Back in the eighties when I was twentysomething, I would ride with no special gear excepting Belstaff waxed jacket. I recall getting a bit cold but commuted on my CX500 from Scarborough to RAF Fylingdales on the north Yorkshire moors where I worked summer and most of winter. Now anything below 10 degrees and its into the car. Age and arthritis has diminished my cold tolerance and no amount of loading myself up with gear's going to help.😊
Excellent film Dave, hope Eddy is on the mend, ice can be surprisingly sharp!
Nowadays it seems large parts of your videos are spent selling/promoting products or begging for subscribers.. Driven me away in afraid so had the adverse effect, I wish you well though
Lovely ride out. I will take the cfmoto 800mt for a ride this afternoon. Thanks for this video. Ride save.
A very nice ride on a beautiful motorcycle:) Next week i go to an RE dealer to look for an Classic 350 or Meteor 350 :)
3 degrees, too cold for me!. I'm sure a screen on the Enfield would help, and a heated jacket too. Definitely tougher than me mate 😊
Another great trip out, seems like only yesterday 😂
What’s not to like. Only couple of concerns seem to be the lack of evidence that this thing won’t fall apart or dealerships vanish overnight. The bikes seem to be well built and the engine is already well known so unless our government follows the same ridiculous path of our US cousins and adopt a policy of restricting Chinese imports on the basis of protectionism and crazy claims of espionage then the future is hear and it very well may save motorcycling. After the US’s performance on the international stage for the last 18 months, I would rather give another super power a go at their version of democracy. Totally off piste now so I’ll stop there.
Don’t blame you for getting out. Enjoy. PS did you see the news about KTM going bust?
Phone does sat nav so that cuts out on one piece of tech for people like me who dislike it. I have a waterproof givi phone holder for that purpose on my benelli trk502x when on longer distances but on the bsa (for relatively local rides) I don't have any gadgets on it and enjoy the discovery of getting lost and finding my way again.
When it dries out at hits 16° with sunshine, I'll think again. In the mean time I'll make my own coffee and listen to other people complain that it's cold and wet. It's winter, same as it ever was. Happy days from the perpetual gloom of Devon.
Top Man ! Have a safe ride ! Thanks for such a spectacular ride :)
If you do decide to invest in a drone, which I do think would be a worthwhile choice, I would wait for the time being. The Mavic 3 classic is no longer available on the DJI website and the pro has some decent discounts available. I believe this backs up the rumours that the release of the Mavic 4 is imminent, no doubt with a price increase. Of course the 3 is a fantastic machine and is capable of way more than required for you tube so may be a good option if the price is right.
🥶🥶😉
Get well soon Eddy, How Stean, must have a trip up there, not been in ages.
Nice day riding yesterday but cold. Shame the 59 cafe wasn't open for a brew, I was just on your right getting ready to pull away as you came in. My ride of fame seeing the Bingley wheeler,, stay safe.
Get a green and chrome tank and tins from india if you want it.

While I appreciate the need for a lot of "tech" for RUclips content also the heated gear especially for us older riders, I still believe for a normal rider / enthusiast the joy of a motorbike is to leave your "tech" behind and enjoy the ride, in my view with all the signage on the roads you would have to be a complete moron to to get lost for a significant amount of time the only preparation required is a full tank of fuel and in some cases the blessing of the significant other 😂
TBW, looking at your riding pants are sending shivers down my spine. Hopefully you have electric thermal underpants on! Stay warm!
As a long term rider (first bike in 1961), I quickly learned to dress warm and when the electrically heated riding gear and heated hand grips came along, I enthusiastically adapted them.
it looks like you have to sit on the bag straps. That's not good, but you've not mentioned it.
Great review Dave...I went in to buy an RE bear yesterday...came out with one of these...so many decent features on it, and cruise control!!!....I want to drive through France and do non knarly Byways in the summer...maybe a dip down into morroco....can't wait to ride it 👍🙂
That was a nice ride, Dave! Objectively - and all nostalgia aside - the early 1960's were a better time for ordinary British people than today, though the writing was already on the wall by the end of that decade, both for society in general and the domestic motorcycle industry in particular.
Hi TBW Can I ask how did you wire your battery charger in? Did you go to the battery terminals and if so how did fitting your thunder box onto the same terminals workout? Carry on that man Caio for now tat ta👍🏻
May she rest in peace and God grant solace to her friends and family. A sad day.
I started riding at the very start of the 90s. Back then, most old British bikes where considered only good for chopping and putting their engines into Swedish style customs with 24" over forks! There where bikes starting to appear like the kawasaki zephyr and triumph trident, but they where for 'old' guys in their 50s, the 'born again biker' and where mocked by us young uns. Anyone buying a brand new bike was too posh, our cool was the Japanese bikes from the late 70s and early 80s. Now I'm old and jaded myself and love British style retros. I've owned a bonneville and now own a royal enfield. Age does funny things to you. "Back then " always seems a much better thing than "right now "....
That's very disappointing news indeed. I have little interest in what bike you happen to be astride , It's what you have to say where I find the interest and of course the lovely scenery. Might I hint that the many watchers whom have drifted away are perhaps the owners of the more narrow type of minds ? Then of course there are so many people doing what you do (but not interestingly) that there must be limits to the ongoing views / viewer's that one can obtain or hold as you are aimed at quite niche audience in the first place . By the way yes! I am a biker , I have 4 in fact but there's more to life than the bikes. I do hope you manage to carry on in some form or other. Best regards David
I called Iron City multiple times and despite what their website says, they refused to service my V7, claimed they didn't do Moto Guzzi on the phone and didn't really offer servicing generally unless you had bought the bike from them.
Well I didn’t get mine from them and they were happy to service it…I just booked it in via their web site
Thank you for the education and lovely scenery !
I was born in ‘51. The 60’s represented my formative years. Over here in the US, I was more into music and cars than motorcycles. I remember well sitting in front of our little TV watching the Beatles and many other British bands on Ed Sullivan show. The Brits had a huge influence on our culture back then. I often think back to that decade as the best years of my life.
I think the 60s were special on both sides of the pond….sadly never to be repeated
Eddy looks like he's ready to play and not ready for bed. Cheers: BJ
Really enjoyed that narration back to the 60s I remember it well life somehow seemed to be much simpler and less stressful than of today's frantic pace of life 😢 Well done Dave love your content 👏👍
Thank you Chris much appreciated

Good vlog and video This hits the mark with me as I started riding inc1962 on a Bantam and by 1965 was still on a BSA and was part of the era known for the Mods and Rockers I was working the fairground at Barry Island In South Wales where many of both came together - I was also part of the leather jacket crew and a ton up boy - I lived it and loved it - and look back now and wouldn’t have changed a thing - I’m still on 2 wheels at 76 YO I do enjoy your vlogs and opinions and will keep watching Regards From Florida 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Thank you John hope the weather is being kind there in Florida 😎
Another lovely ride with some melancholic reflections- I wonder what the next 25 years will bring…. I’ll be 95 by then …. 🤦🏼♂️
One of your more picturesque rides. Breathtaking. I remember my first glimpse of a British motorcycle when as a young teenager. I was working at a local gas station when a slightly older school mate pulled up on a newly acquired BSA 650 Lightning. The look and the sound of that bike as he tore off down the road have left an indelible impression on my memory and formed my long enduring impression of what a motorcycle should be. The sound of a 360 degree big twin engine does things to me that I simply cannot explain. Thanks for taking me back there. Cheers: BJ
Cheers Bob and you’re welcome 👍🏻
And we won the World Cup in 66 ; will that ever happen again ! What a beautiful ride Dave.Just started planning our route up Norf so I’ll be in touch for advice.Following a ride out yesterday to the Hungerford & Marlborough Downs, it took 5 washes to get all the crap off the bike -nightmare.😂All the best Richard
Hard to disagree with a word of that. Determination and drive would help but a re-entry of hope onto the scene would be most welcome. There has been none of that for so long. So let's raise a glass to hope and continued motorcycling.
Hi Dave 👋. Great vlog thank you and wonderful to re-watch the V7 in action, particularly in that stunning landscape! Regards, Mo 😊👍.
Cheers Mo much appreciated
I was a teenager throughout the 60s so obviously you look back with Rose tinted glasses. My first taste of bikes were by mates who owned things like the Ariel Arrow and a rich mate who had a Norton Dominator 650 SS and an even richer one who had a most beautiful Vincent Black Shadow. In the sixties we made things, these days we make nowt.
Vincent Black Shadow what a thing of beauty
What’s the weight of this 800mt? I have heard that it’s heavy its around 540lbs that’s around 245 kg.
235 Kg
Superb!
The youth revolution of the sixties, (usually involving the rebellious referred to as Mods & Rockers)... was Great Britain emerging from the austerity of most of the fifties. We didn't want to be clones of our parents, but express ourselves...The establishment/media sexed up/exaggerated the trouble between the two factions,...We had more opportunities, more disposable income,...we were not going to be ''called up'' for military service. The immediate post war baby boomers changed Great Britain immeasurably during the sixties....It was a fantastic time to be in ones youth...
So true Brian the best decade ever 👍🏻
The low wages economy of the 1950s and 60s was brought about by the need to pay back the money that the UK borrowed to pay for the 1939 - 45 war. All industries were encourages and in some cases compelled to export as much as they could and this meant making what they had always made as there was little by way of resources to spend on research and development. In turn the low wage economy meant there was only a limited home market. Even by 1965 wages for an adult were generally lower than £20 per week and a 650 Bonneville ( a gradually modified version of the 1930s engine) was £360. In 1968 I was a tube train driver on the London Underground and my pay rate was £17.75 pence. The motorcycle industry was unable to generate enough cash and yet their products were generally outside the reach of most 'ordinary working people'. The legend of the Ace Cafe was mostly made up by people who were never there. It was a just scruffy cafe on the North circular road. As for cheap imports from Japan, if I remember correctly, the Hondas were very expensive and although I knew lots of bikers, only one had a Honda and that was a 160. The rest of us had bikes from the mid 50's. Anyone who looks to those days as a golden era has rose tinted glasses. Bikes have never been cheaper and more reliable than they are now. This is the golden era.
Could be that the 1960s were a reaction against the War. You speak of people seeking 'individuality' ... the very opposite of the intense Collectivism that infected the Nation during the War, when the State was unchallenged in its dominance over the people. Since Europe and Japan lay in smoking ruins, it's hardly surprising that 'British motorcycles ruled the roost'. There simply wasn't any competition.
Ey up , I just ordered one , thank you for the discount pal, continue with the cracking videos, si thi later 😊
Cheers Robin all the best pal 👍🏻
