Since the COVID-19 pandemic, people everywhere seemed to have become more doggy. If the locals know you are not one of them, but playing on their turf, and you might have income that multiplies when converted locally, jealousy is an all too human reaction.

Lots if dofs here in Huancayo. During the day most just sleep. At night they can become aggressive and you need to be aware. If one starts to bark at you they will draw more dogs and they can become aggressive.

I hate us mayonnaise may be i tried it once or twice made me want to vomit until i visited one of peruvian restaurant i did not ask for it but the server put on my table with some bread and i tried it was so delicious and healthy i couldn't believe it. There is an international airport somewhere in sacred valley a korean company started building it but for some reason they stopped the construction...do you have any new about this international airport?

I heard if you dont want to get sick from new country food is the first thing to eat is raw scallions or leeks onions will save you from getting sick. Peruvian food is much healthier and cheaper than us food

Wow, those ATM fees are crazy. When I need cash while I'm there, I generally send a Moneygram to my wife (easier than me having to deal with it with a foreign ID) for larger amounts than the ATMs are letting you take out, like $500 or $1,000 at a time. There's still a substantial fee, but just for example, it would be $9 for $500, $16 for $1,000, or $26 for $2,000, so more in the 1-2% range. This is as opposed to the 15-30 soles you're paying at the ATM for a maximum of 450 soles, which is 3.3-6.7% if you're taking out the max, potentially a lot more if you're not. They're really soaking you with those fees. Moneygram also gives a 40% discount on the fee after so many transactions (I think 4 or 5), so you can save a lot if you hold out and use it for a larger-than-usual transfer.

One of my fondest memories of Peru is from the beach in Mancora. My then-future wife and I were up drinking one night at the Loki hostel. Decided in our drunken state that we should take a walk out to the beach. (Read: She thought it was a bad idea, but I insisted.) A whole pack of stray dogs followed us up the street we took to the beach. Didn't bother us, just trailed behind, probably hoping for food drops. They dispersed by the time we got to the beach, but after we got out there, one came back out to hang with us. Of course, we ended up lying on the beach with her and giving her lots of pets. She was calm, not aggressive at all, and really appreciated the love, but in retrospect we probably should not have gotten so affectionate with a stray.

On a positive note only one in 5 people in Peru live in a rural area like you do. So the roving packs of dogs or just huge numbers of stray dogs don't exist for most people in Peru. I am now in Arequipa and so far in my walks around the city of 1 million I do not see a lot of dogs wandering without an owner. Certaintly I see more than in a first world country but not so much like I see in your videos.

The same is true with cats too lol. One day, I fed a cat one time and it never left my house. And then, as months passed by, I woke up one morning and had a bunch of cats in my yard because the cat I originally fed had kittens and they ALL hung out in my backyard. I ended up with 7 cats in my yard. By the way, about dogs, animals could read good auras too. I remember in Thailand (that word again lol 🤣), they had stray dog problem too. There could be a pack of dogs and yet out of all of those dogs, there was this one dog that would come out and follow me around evert time it saw me. I guess because of my vibes at the time. It was always happy to see me. I never fed it or anything.. So, this is to say that dogs may be drawn to certain people too and such could happen too.

Its important to say, if you are only visiting for a short time, don't take in a stray or feed a stray, There are tons of strays who get domesticated and struggle to survive after learning that they can receive food for free from people

taking my dog for walks is the only thing that gets me out of the house and seeing nature so thats what helps me the most, whenever im in a forest or by the mountains all the things that make me sad dont seem important. thanks for reminding me to celebrate the small things ♡, its definitely hard to give yourself credit

im 19 moving back across the country to live with my parents. i struggle everyday and sometimes im surprised ive forced myself to live this long. but i look at that time ive been able to have since, and even though most of it is shitty, my eyes have been more open to the little things. right now im not doing okay, but i think the hope that one day things will be better really helps. i know that depression mindset is the hardest thing to change, but never give up. hope that tomorrow CAN be better than today. that small ray of hope, and forcing yourself to enjoy the little things, might not be enough to get me out of bed some days but its a hell of enough reason to keep trying
