Found your channel via Reddit. I was going to look at a maverick but decided against it. Thanks for your honest opinion. The price is right but the quality is just not there.

Hi Daniel, I believe I saw you this Thursday a little after noon heading out of the Bay area thru Pacheco Pass. I was in the Blue Mustang behind you travelling over the mountain and you turned off before Interstate 5 where I passed you. I want to say thank you! Even if it wasn't you, Though I believe it was. I had been going thru a lot of turmoil for the previous 4 days and I was heading out of town to get away to my family. I didn't realize it at the time because I was just so caught up in the excitement that I had possibility seen you in what felt like a 1/1,000,000 chance. But the experience had done a great deal to lift me out of the despair I've been feeling this past week so I want to say thank you!

Had the problem with Apple Carplay in a 23 Edge Titanium that i rented for long term. Main reason i swapped it out for a F150 Powerboost. Its Apple Careplay works flawless. I'm wanting a Maverick. Sine we already have a Full Size Truck. Great review

Ford did not even give you a complimentary car wash and interior cleaning?!? Well, I cannot compare the service extended to me by Mercedes where I am always treated like a king. Nevertheless, I am still looking forward to receiving the Maverick I ordered.

Every Good mechanic will tell you to change the Transmission fluid every 40 to 60k miles, regardless of manufacturers recommendations or instructions manual.

I have a 2022 Ford Maverick, about 18,000 miles on it. I put on mud flaps on mine, works real good in the rain. I do not know how the mud flaps would work in the snow. I put on a dash mat and window tint on the top of the front windshield to block the sun light. The bed Cover works good but I wish that I have gotten one like your. My cons are, the radio sound, the back up camera is too dim for me, and the Cubby Storage by the radio. I do not like it. The Maverick works grate for me.

Other than the manufacturers being obtuse with fluid change intervals, did they offer any feedback as to what contributed to the transmission failure? 4 dirt bikes, trailer, support gear and 4 riders has got to be heavy! It would be nice to know if the transmission died because it's faulty or because you went muddin' in the wrong setting lol. Not throwing any shade here, just legitimately curious as to why it went up. I've had 7 manual transmissions in a row. I haven't owned an automatic in 21 years! Never had to repair one and i only did 2 clutches (eorn out on high horsepower modified cars) in almost 400k of driving. High mileage automatic transmissions are an unknown to me. yeah seriously considering this for my next vehicle. Probably do the exhaust and intake wheels and tires out of the gate. It`ll looks sweet with tinted glass etc. Very practical. Not everyone needs a full size truck.

Unfortunately the transmission is designed to fail. It's rated for 250 lb/ft of torque, and the truck has 277 lb/ft. It's under-built, and that's why fluid changes are crucial. Take the Honda Ridgeline for example (also the Passport and Pilot). The Ridgeline's ZF 9-Speed isn't the smoothest, but it comes from Mercedes and is rated for roughly 350 lb/ft, even though the Ridgeline only has 265 lb/ft. It's over-built and designed to last the life of the vehicle.

A new transmission with the mileage you had is very concerning. My Toyota 4Runner has gone 300,000 with the same transmission. I will stick with Toyota for my next SUV. Right now I am changing my upper and lower ball joints. I had a head gasket go about 10,000 ago and I rebuilt my engine. Why do American cars have more issues than the Japanese cars and SUV's.

I’m not sure if this is true or not, but I was told that these transmissions are the same, or similar, as what the ford focus had.

the transmission went out because you were towing stuff and didn't maintenance the transmission. yeah the owners manual says 100K on it, but that is based on you not towing anything and just normal driving. once you start towing you will need to service the transmission sooner as you are putting more load on the transmission, so totally your fault and not the way the transmission was built.
